landscaping bark & topsoli
We've ordered several large bags of landscaping bark & topsoil from Dandys over last few months. All have been good & consistent quality. The Bark is excellent for using as material for paths or a base for seating area, is really comfortable to walk on & contributes to a relaxed theme for the garden. The soil has been generally clay based, bordering on the heavy, but is fertile & essentially stone free. Will be placing more orders soon.

Great Experience
Great advice from Nic when ordering as I wasn’t entirely sure what I needed. He was rushed off his feet but remained cheerful and unflappable, making sure I was happy with my order. I had a tricky delivery with overhead cables but this was no problem for a professional like Tom. Thank you guys!

Refreshingly ethical competitive company
Ordered jumbo bag and half bulk bag of topsoil along with jumbo bag of gravel. I shopped around and was amazed how overpriced local merchants and high street merchants were. Also Wicks/B&Q charged extortionate delivery. Dandy’s were cheaper by far - with the added benefit of discount and no delivery charge despite their depot being over an hour away. I have recommended them to loads of people already, who have spotted the bright green bags on our path. I will definitely use them again. Delivery driver was accommodating too. it’s refreshing for a company to charge reasonable prices as opposed to ripping people off.

They were great
They were great, I arrived just as it was closing but the staff were still cheerful and polite. They checked my car could carry the weight and lifted in the bags of slate. By far the cheapest place for it too - 3 bags for £12, everywhere else was £8-10 a bag. I am going back for more.

If I pay for a ton of top dressing
I made the mistake of ordering Rootzone instead of top dressing and criticised Dandy's for a poor quality supply. It was completely my fault and won't make the same mistake again. Sales manager Jordan was good enough to reply to me and offer advice to resolve the situation.
I've changed my mind completely, I realise I got it wrong and will definitely use Dandy's again.

Prior to ordering I emailed the sales team to check they would be able to deliver to my slightly sloped driveway and garden as noted at the checkout page, that slopes/grass were advised against. They took my address to check, and gave me the go ahead to order advising it would be 7-10 days to book the right type of truck for the delivery. I allowed for slightly longer as it was the bank holiday during this time, and I didn't pay extra to book a specific day, and got an email the day before delivery to let me know it would be arriving. The truck driver was friendly and helpful with advising where the most suitable place would be to drop the tonne of soil, and even tooted his horn for my little boy on his drive away. :)

In order a tonne bag of topsoil sand mix and seed. The product did the trip and with a seasonal discount it was reasonably priced. The delivery was quick and the driver, Tom was amazing. He went above and beyond to get the product in my garden. 10/10 effort.

Quality compost and great service
I've been using Dandy's since lockdown in 2020. Their Welsh organic compost not only looks good on my borders, but the plants thrive on it too. The crane delivery makes it easy to place the jumbo bags right where I need them. Highly recommend.

I can’t fault Dandy’s – they’ve been fantastic from the moment I placed my order. The website was easy to navigate, and the product descriptions were clear and helpful. I ordered topsoil and gravel, and both arrived exactly when promised, in perfect condition, and clearly labelled.
The delivery driver was polite, professional, and went out of his way to place the bulk bags exactly where I needed them. You can tell this is a company that really cares about its customers – communication was excellent throughout, and the quality of the materials is top-notch. My garden has never looked better.

Topsoil quality, issue now resolved.
I had some serious issues with the topsoil that I purchased, it simply wasn't good enough.
Dandy's have offered to send me some soil improver to enrich it.
I wasn't expecting that response, so I have to say the customer service is excellent

So disappointed
My experience of this firm is not great at all. Dandy’s comms are woeful. Try giving them a call - try replying to an email (it bounces). They use a system that hides their email addresses. While their products may be good (I wouldn’t know) as I’ve just demanded a refund for a failed delivery.
I ordered a bulk bag of top soil for nearly £240 and emailed them via their website to say ‘we’re on incline’, this having read other reviews that they send such items on a pallet, delivered by a ‘man in a van’ - the delivery obviously fails, because it weighs almost 1.2 tonnes!!!! Hence my message at point of sale to give them a heads up.
Guess what? Yep, a failed delivery. No apology, no phone call, no acknowledgment that I had contacted them to advise them that we live up a small incline.
Dandys - if you can’t deliver such a large item, STOP selling it! - but that aside, when a new customer spends circa £240 with you, and would have ordered two more bags in the coming days, have the business sense or at the very least, the courtesy to contact me.
I’m afraid my experience with Dandys is just one star.

Thank you for your feedback, and we sincerely apologise for the experience you’ve had with us. We completely understand your frustration, and we genuinely regret that your delivery did not go as smoothly as expected.
Upon reviewing your case, it seems that there was a misunderstanding regarding your message about the incline. We understood it to refer to the driveway incline, rather than the street itself and your driveway. Unfortunately, our delivery partners use large vehicles (18t curtain-sided trucks) and offload goods with a pump truck which can make inclines particularly challenging.
It is not in our interest for deliveries to fail, as we are responsible for the costs associated with the attempted delivery and return to our depot in Chester. We will take your feedback on board and explore how we can better communicate such logistical considerations moving forward.
Again, we apologise for the inconvenience this has caused.
