Ive had 50 years happy stays with the previous owners bunn leisure a warm welcome always awaited you clean well run caravan park brilliant entertainment nightly parking on the beach, nice food and little shops reasonable priced all over the site friendly staff now cove own it its been reduced to a dirty theme park embassy dance floor has gone to make way to prams parked everywhere the tables are so packed together ive notified the local fire safety team if there was a fire family's would not get out you would be badley injured falling over people a major fire risk its too overcrowded .no entertainment kids everywhere even at midnight my 92 year father fell over a pram in the dark ,no lighting .The beach has been replaced by a large screen tv.Decent hot food has gone also replaced by mircrowave rubbish pinged no doubt in a dirty kitchin by teenages its a dirty hovel of a place the funfair has been almost closed down its the worst ive ever seen bring back the bunn family at least they were a local family who knew what people want in a holiday instead of a overpriced american cheap theme park . i will never step near that place again such a shame killed a lovely family business .greed is a terrible thing in the entertainment holiday industry a place now to avoid please report this company to the health and safety before someone gets killed

Activity team

I went to seal Bay with a couple members of my family and we chose to do a lot of the activities. My favourites were Archery, laser tag and axe throwing. I think the activities they have here are so different and versatile it's like learning a new skill. We had absolutely amazing and very professional leaders running the sessions. For all of them we had a young man named Raeph leading our sessions and he was very friendly and funny, he was very quick and witty with his jokes, very professional and helpful and aceepting of everyone, he also has alot of creativity with the games we were playing in archery. The team is brilliant and you can see they all really get on and have fun together and include everyone in there fun. We had a man called Sam lead our laser tag session and he was brilliant he knew what he was doing and very creative with the games too. We had another man called Tom with us in some of the session who was lovely too. When booking the sessions I was welcomes with a lovely smile from a lady called Meg she was so nice and talked me into booking even more sessions and I'm glad she did because I loved them even more. The activities team are so kind and are very much worth doing!

This place used to be so much better

Came on holiday with myself and partner and our 6 children. We arrived early so decided to wait outside our allocated caravan. A cleaner spotted us and noticed we had loads of young children with us, she said I will let you in the caravan. We had booked a 3 bedroom once inside the caravan we realised it was a one bedroom, very tiny. I called reception to be informed the app had the incorrect caravan number and we was in the wrong caravan.
During our stay the app hardly worked too.
We was staying for 3 nights, on the 1st there was a massive fight in the car and the back of the embassy bar. This was right outside our caravan our children were so frightened by it. The following two nights my children witness and experienced a further three more fights in the embassy bar.
Even in the arcade one of the security was sitting on a man’s neck my daughter was so scared she was 11 and playing the arcade, the man on the floor looked like he was struggling to breath.
Security seem to have anger issues, very aggressive even to stand and watch.
Witnessing this trouble made my daughter very anxious she suffers with anxiety anyways and it ruined her holiday.
On return I completed the contact form via the website only to have endless calls from caravan sales saying I wanted to buy a caravan despite telling them why I was contacting the keep calling and calling.
I was told endless times they will pass my complaint on and have someone contact me still a month later no contact what so ever.
My children all used to love this place and used to choose it over going abroad, now my daughter is scared to return as she don’t know what will happen!

And not even a response on this!

What ever you do do not Buy a new…

What ever you do do not Buy a new Caravan from these Pirates !! the whole thing is a Con from start to finish !!! they tell you , you can earn good money if you wish to rent out your overpriced caravan with Seal Bay but all you do is pay for everything ? they rent it and get the money for the rental , while you pay for there gas, Services, repairs, electricity?? hows that , and then they tuck you up twice a year and take any money you might have earned for there so called fees !!! be very wary and do not purchase one of these.

SMUGGLER’S RESTAURANT
Unfortunately, our usual enjoyable meal at The Smuggler’s was spoiled by sitting in what felt like a school canteen atmosphere.
The food was, as always, excellent - as was the service by the attentive & excellent staff.
However, we were seated adjacent to a large, noisy, family party where the adults appeared to have little or no control over the children. They were allowed to shout, run around the restaurant and, to top it all, play with a football. Whilst it would be nice if parents could control their children, it would not have hurt a member of the management team having a quiet word with the party - it should not fall on the young serving staff to confront them. Perhaps a sign, insisting that no balls he allowed in the restaurant, may be a good idea for the future. We did get an apology from a very nice member of staff, but the meal had already been spoilt at this stage.

Bought a 5pm deal for Drimsynie and can’t get a hold of anyone to actually book it! I’ve called several times, only to be cut off after 15 mins on hold each time, left a voicemail, emailed and contacted via Facebook messenger. Still nothing. Will be looking to get a refund from 5pm now.

AWFUL!

AWFUL!! website is SO misleading. We went Monday to Friday, despite blazing sun and beautiful days the outside pool wasn't open once, they don't provide that information on the same page as all other activy opening times. Second the small splash zone outside smokeys was closed, the tots pool was closed every day, despite the website and opening times leaflet given saying otherwise, I even asked the lifeguard to open it as reception said all I had to do was ask and they said they had been told by the manager they couldn't because they are short staffed. The manager then confirmed this. Smugglers restaurant was closed every day despite opening times saying otherwise. The eave ride was closed everyday except one day when it was open for staff only. The fun fair was closed every day except one day, I have a video of the ride attendant pushing the tollarcoaster with a large stick so it would make it around the track, with no where to disembark if it does not make it round. One ride was open at a time since there was staff to man all the rides. Half the arcade machines just took your money with no staff to help. Majority of the grabber machines are £1 for ONE TRY. Soft plays are charged for but not manned or supervised. all except the box fish was open, no Greek, no treats, nothing just the box fish with ridiculous prices. Staff are all miserable except the performers who in fairness were excellent. Alcohol is watered down so much. A jack and Coke tasted like syrup and Pepsi, so sweet it was undrinkable. Security was disgusting. Young guy with a top knot described seeing a young girl he described as 'couldn't of even been 16' who was 'unreal' with a skirt so short he 'could see what she had for breakfast'. Sexually discussing a minor with another member of staff. Head of security seemed to automatically defend this person by questioning if we knew the girl was 16 or not. As repeated, by the guards own admission, he was talking about a girl younger than 16. Reception staff are rude and sarcastic. Within an hour of getting back I booked a trip away at haven. I've never been more furious and disappointed. My entire holiday experience was ruined. I would never go again. Please look at the visitors chat on Facebook before booking here. This place is just designed to take your money and spend as little as possible on staff and activities. It's offered but never available. Please look elsewhere.

Can't get hold of them!!!

I've been trying to reach Argyll Holidays through phone for number of days and still can't get hold of anyone. This is regarding the unconfirmed reservation in one of their facility. Sent multiple emails as well and still there is no response from them yet. They are unreacheable for any queries!!!

Promised a refund, none given.

I recently booked a couple of nights at Loch Lomond with Argyll Holidays but unfortunately due to confusion booked the wrong nights which I cancelled almost immediately. I expected some refund and indeed a gentleman named Graham assured me that I would receive the money back.I have had no refund and Argyll Hol's no longer reply to my emails.
Everyone makes mistakes, it's just sad that this company sees it as an opportunity to take a person's money.
We certainly won't book anything with Argyll Holidays again.

Definitely won't be back

We are just home from hunters quay holiday village and trust me if it wasnt for my 10 year old daughter who has special needs and wouldn't understand why we left we would of left the 1st night we had booked the rowan Premier Lodge for the week when we arrived its very dated which wouldn't really bother us to much but the lock to our patio door was broken we couldn't lock it our boiler was broken there was no thermostat so we were roasting hot or freezing cold no happy medium we did say to them and the fixed it but still no control over the temperature one of of the sofas were broken you sat on you fell in the decking was rotted with nail heads sticking out so couldn't even let the kids out to play also hut tub was suppose to get checked every day and it wasnt on to the complex we had booked because I have a 10 year old and 3 year old and from what it tells you online it looked great for kids we arrived and was severely disappointed especially for the price we payed there was no soft play no park the pool was freezing the changing rooms were freezing there is not very much of an arcade and you have to carry cash they dont have the change machines you can use your card on they tell you you can get cash back at the restaurant but when you try all they say is theres not enough in the till even if its as little £10 the entertainment we didn't really get to see because it was very loud and really dark my 3 year old was terrified to go in so in all there was nothing for them to do I will definitely not be back I think the worse part is the charge you that price they don't tell you half the facilities are not open I felt like I was scammed

Not pet friendly

Not pet friendly, only a very small area for dogs and on our last night they said they had now removed even the small area, don’t really have a problem with that it’s their choice but they should have said so before we paid for very expensive drinks which they insisted we leave and refused a refund, they didn’t do so in an apologetic manner they were rude and hostile, the area is beautiful, parts of the site are nice with friendly and helpful staff but it’s very expensive and they have a staff attitude problem in the bar areas which spoiled our stay

Decent place to take the kids

We visit a lot. It's a shame they replaced the kids entertainment with a poor immersive experience but they do good live entertainment and the swimming pools are great.

Could be a piece of heaven

Stayed in a lodge with friends on a 5pm deal and was able to upgrade to a lodge with a hot tub a few days before we were due to arrive. Check in was easy and the staff were lovely, no issues, finally found our lodge and we were well impressed , equipped with everything you could need for a great stay, my only complaint is the beds, they are the most uncomfortable cheap mattresses I have ever slept on, considering they are doing a massive refurbishment, adding on new caravans and lodges, so if they can afford to do that they really do need to get decent mattresses that will give you a decent sleep, instead we woke up in the morning with sore bones, aching joints and barely slept.

APPALLING TREATMENT

Paid approximately £1200 for 2 lodges with hot tubs. First day picked up keys at 3.30pm for a 4pm check in. First night was fine had a good night used the hot tubs. In one of the hot tubs did not get cleaned as parties were still in use maintenance said to go to reception when it’s ready to be cleaned and they would come back down. We approached reception declared our hot tub needed cleaned and was told it was be done at some point in the day. Hot tub did not get cleaned that day so was then out of bounds. On trying to enjoy the use of the facilities was told the swimming pool was closed due to a temperate problem therefore kids were very disheartened. The next day was told the pool would be open. We then went back to the reception was told there was not sand in the pool and it was closed heres kids disheartened by the lack of facilities for them. 5 times we complained to reception regarding the lack of cleaning from the hot tub. Was told it would be done at some point in the day this is our last full day here and it’s not 1 in the day and maintenance still not arrived to clean the hot tubs all facilities were fully booked pool closed and children bored as we are now sitting in a lodge with nothing to do and offered no alternative to our dismay. Staff very cheeky in approachable and unhelpful this weekend has been absolutely shambles and we would not be can to use this complex at Drumsynie again. Spoke to many other visitors approx 10 other families who were also disappointed in this and were also complaining and not using it again.

We stayed for 3 nights over the New…

We stayed for 3 nights over the New Year and we bought the tickets for the Embassy on News Years Eve, four adults and two children. £45 each for adults and £22 for the children so not cheap. The good thing was you got six drinks included and the children got snacks and drinks. My first complaint is, that it said on their website prosecco was included in the six drinks, apparently the manager changed his/her mind and it wasn’t included, very disappointing, then on the tickets it advertised drinks and snacks for the children, we were then told it was popcorn only, our grandchildren went to get popcorn but after over and hour of keep being told to come back no further popcorn arrived, we waited until 9.30pm when they were finally given sweets which wasn’t ideal. We had several tickets left for the children and was told to get them drinks which they didn’t want. My daughter raised this with the manager on the night and was basically told tough. We were all very disappointed and it put a bit of a dampener on our night.
Plus the night we arrived no hot water or heating we reported this at 4.45pm and was told it would be sorted and could they have access to the van as we we’re going out which of course we agreed to, on our return around 11.30pm still no heating or hot water not ideal with young children, finally got hold of security who thankfully changed the bottle for us. Cleaning needs improvement, found a nappy in the seating area, thankfully unused, loads of hairs on the bedding, bathrooms very dusty and stains on the dining chairs and sofas.

Very disappointed

Very disappointed. We decided to book a 4 day Christmas break because my wife had just lost both her parents, so opted to go away to make Christmas easier for her.
Big mistake, advertising a Christmas Market,I don't think one man selling German sausage counts as a market. The ice rink states lights and smoke, never happened. The main resort club house was dirty and ran by teenagers. The food on offer was burgers or ribs or anything with chips, so we couldn't wait fir the Christmas Dinner( omg) roast potatoes were frozen then reheated, chef told people waiting we couldn't have what we wanted in case they ran out). There was nothing on offer for my children in way of entertainment except over priced arcades. Such a shame because we really looked forward to this only to be VERY DISAPPOINTED. I suggest paying that bit more and go butlins or centre parks. Not sure why I've bothered to write review because reading others, nothing seems to get done.

No management response

Emailed management twice regarding recent break at Drimsynie to offer feedback and distaste at our most recent break (No entertainment due to staff & owner parties with no prior communication, plus the poor state of the Albatross lodge)
Used the email address provided and they have not even had the decency to respond.
Years of regular bookings, thousands of pounds spent and no acknowledgment of my first ever complaint.
Have 3 bookings for next year at over 6k and honestly can’t imagine returning at this point.
