My first time stay was looking forward…

My first time stay was looking forward to my weekend break away with friends and my son. On first impressions not to bad. Got settled in unpacked looked at the entertainment etc for our weekend while we were there. Went to evening entertainment got drinks at bar, bar staff not to bad service, went and got a seat which we couldn't really get one for all of us, looking around to only find the floor and tables etc were full of rubbish loads of empty glasses, no staff were actually going around picking up the complete mess etc which I found very shocking. Staff eventually started clearing stuff but never even finished that, the entertainment for that night was mediocre. In the end we left before midnight to back to our caravan. Morning came and I was disgusted to find most of the sofa seating was badly stained which was disappointing and could have been cleaned. No tin opener with utensils, broken catches on some windows too. The price of food etc was diabolical, I mean almost £19 for 1 portion of fish and chips, outrageous. The arcades are a rip off when you exchange your tokens, it's done in tens not single numbers so you lose out on money or prizes etc, what con. So for my overall first time visit, needless to say I will not be going back to seal Bay resort in selsey. Lucky you even got 2 stars, am only really giving 2 stars because some of the staff were friendly...

Terrible service

After 12 years of coming to seal bay and bunn leisure our most recent experience we will not be back. We have had 5 years of unsatisfactory holidays which have been sorted out, this year despite my injuring myself on broken furniture in our unit which had tape covering it, among othervthings the management couldn't care less. Tia was absolutely awful . Rest assured cove bay has seen the last of us

Avoid

Avoid. Used to love our camping trips here but not since recent management take over. Camping site was a noisy building site with glamping pods being built which ruined our whole experience. I emailed to complain about it, still awaiting a full response.

EDIT: Email reply received, dismissed my complaint totally and told me it was too late to do anything about it. Shocking customer service.

Fresh blood and Urine all over mattress

We recently stayed in Hunters Quay and although the issue we had was sorted, this was only because I personally contacted the Sales Manager.
So...my trip was work related and my first time to Scotland. We had a 10 hr journey to get to site so we're pretty exhausted when we checked in. I found the lady that dealt with us was totally disinterested and not very helpful.
We had booked a 2 bed lodge and I did not really have any expectations except that it would be clean and comfortable...oh my word...on opening the door the smell of dogs was really strong (we lost our dogs a while ago and I have sensitivity to pet dander) There was dog kibble on the settee and the place felt worn, tired and not clean. OK, we were just wanting to sleep there as we would be busy during the day so we were prepared to overlook this. Now we were really tired and wanted to sleep. I went into the main bedroom to turn the bed down and spotted something dark under the sheet. Upon pulling the sheet back there was a small pool of fresh blood (dry but not turned brown yet..very fresh) my husband suggested pulling the whole sheet off and oh my..the mattress was covered on both sides with Urine stains...all over, big circles of brown..absolutely and unforgivably disgusting.
There is no one to call after reception is shut which is pretty poor, but fortunately I had the Regional Sales Managers number so I sent him a photo. All credit to him, he contacted the General Manager and insisted that we were moved to a new lodge.
Unfortunately first impressions last and had I not known a senior member of staff, I would not have even been able to sleep that night as the beds were awful.
The new lodge was wonderful so maybe Argyll need to embark on a major refurbishment.
Other reports say the properties are tired..I have to agree and the sad thing is that it appears no-one cares. They are resting on their laurels of awards won but this won't last. The park itself have fabulous grounds and these are well kept.
There are plenty of facilities if you have deep pockets.
I for one would not risk it again. As I understand Hep C lasts 24hrs in blood..the fact that someone had gone in that lodge and put a clean sheet over fresh blood is dangerous and filthy.
Dunoon is gorgeous and the townsfolk are wonderful. My recommendation would be to stay elsewhere!

This was our 4th and final visit

This was our 4th and final visit. We have only been going a year and what a dive it is now. We paid for a Gold caravan which was nothing like the last Gold we had which was really nice. This had no veranda and the width was a lot smaller. Main bedroom was tiny and my son who is 13 could not even fit in the single bed provided. On the first night both my son and i suffered asthma attacks, my wife later discovered this was probably due to the thick dust and mountain of dog hair she uncovered on the carpet. We recieved 2 notes from Security telling us not to park on the grass, the first time absolutely fine. Second note we was in our allocated bay which goes onto the grass and yet another note, its not our fault the road is so narrow and cars get damaged. Now Security is something i take pride in being an industry i have worked in. The first time we came we were very impressed by Security standards and how friendly they were. This 4th time well the complete opposite. The first night we arrived at the embassy we was in the balcony area and there was a family up there smoking weed around a new born baby, Security noticed and said nothing. So the next night i brought into the venue my own alcohol and left on table on purpose to see if they would say anything, they did there jobs correctly and i stressed how unprofessional night 1 was and that if i was from.the SIA they could all lose there jobs, all i want is high standards. Around the site you can smell weed everywhere you go and a ridiculous amount of fights. This is supposed to be a family complex? The app is poor because there is very little phone signal and they want you to pay to use wifi which does not work anyway. The customer service from.some of the staff is terrible and are clearly just there for the pay check. The swimming pool changing rooms were filthy even in quiter periods. We reported that our external light was not working and nothing was done. These caravans are not right for someone of a certain height and i could not fit in the tiny shower and when my wife showered she kept losing hot water. The tiny oven took about 3 hours to cook a pizza.
The 1 star on this review is for the amazing entertainment on site my younger kids love the fun factory and bonkers bingo and Dani the entertainer is a star and she deserves better than Seal Bay.
It is a shame because it is a beautiful beach and the first time we came we was so impressed. With having children with autism we thought a routine holiday would be great but we expect so much better and the site is not autism friendly.

We would happily return..

Our family of 5 was booked for 7 nights in a gold select caravan.
We arrived a little earlier than expected (10 mins) but the caravan was still being cleaned so we parked up nearby and explored the area. We were in Hollyhocks so this is a relatively new and fresh area with no through traffic so was very pleased. The caravan was available 10 mins after our selected time so a little annoying but not a biggy.
The van was clean, spacious and accommodating with a decent size decking area with table and chairs.
Our only niggle was the digital door lock that was temperamental and was sometimes unsure if it was actually locked at night! This is particularly concerning as the sight is open to the public.
We found the entertainment areas clean and well laid out. The outdoor seating at the waterfront bar with a big screen was a particularly nice spot with the beach a stone throw away. The tables were clean and empty glasses taken away regularly..
The take away venues are a little pricey but good quality and deliver in a good time. We didn't use the restaurants (No reason).
We pre-booked activities before arriving, these included football training, axe throwing, archery and crazy golf. The activity crews were a great bunch and do a great job, our son Henry got on well with Ewan and Tom who do their job really well!
We also booked snorkelling which we had to cancel. This wasn't easy as you cannot do this on the app. There was no reply from an email and it took 2 days to answer the phone..
An almost full refund was given.
We used the indoor swimming pool which has a fast river section and slide which was clean and not too busy.
One of the earlier evenings in our week we went to the club for the entertainment. However the kids entertainment was still going on later than we would of expected so there was lack of seating and generally messy tables. Our kids are 9 upwards so they were not interested in what was going on therefore we only had one drink and didn't return. We feel the kids stuff should finish earlier but maybe that's just our opinion.
The onsite shops were fairly well stocked with most of the essentials covered.
We used the laundrette too which needs an app downloading to use. No cash or card option which would make it easier.
Overall we enjoyed our weeks stay and would say you can make a nice holiday here and always find something to do, just bring the sunshine with you...

We have only been here for a weekend break but tbh that is enough for us .
I don’t believe they should push this app onto everyone because as soon as we arrived we couldnt get any signal hence I couldn’t get my app to load . When we did get to the caravan we couldn’t get the door to open using the app once again ,20 minutes of trying to no avail we had to flag down a maintenance man who was luckily driving past at that time ,he let us in and informed us they had been having some technical issues with the app that day 🙄
Caravan is very nice although could do with a bit more detail to cleaning rather than just where the eye can first see,pretty thick with dust in places .
Mattresses absolutely shocking ,springs gone ,very uncomfortable.
Staff in the shop in the entertainment area absolutely shocking ,all young kids obviously it’s there summer job but they need to be taught customer service ,asked about prices of products none of which had any prices whatsoever ,I was given the option of ‘could be this price.. or could be that price ..’ one of those two,I mean yea that’s really helpful thankyou 🙄
Generally this place is crazy busy ,far to many people,swimming pool far to busy they allow to many in at any one time .
My daughters friend who was holidaying with us actually cut her fingers on one of the slides as they had rough areas on them .
All in all we was only for a weekend which for me was enough , we have never been before and tbh I wouldn’t bother returning,it wasn’t terrible but it wasn’t great at the same time ,lots of improvement needed .

Filthy place

We stay in a privately owned caravan so it's clean spotless and great location...
However we returned after a fab time at Christmas to see what the summer was like and I don't think we will be back ..
Everywhere was packed.. filthy.. staff had no customer service skills. The waterfront was discusting, tables were sticky no one around to clear tables cigarette ends everywhere. I don't think I saw someone wipe a table in the 4 day stay we had.
I went to sit on a sofa outside the soft play (again which was filthy) and it was soaked with sticky beer and glass.
The entrance to the arcade/swimming pool was full of cigarette ends over flowing bins and was just vile..I didn't want to walk through it with my two young children.
Dirty swimming pool changing rooms the list goes on.
I know it's summer in the height of the season but you still expect daily cleaning routines to be top of their list.

I am an owner and was led to believe…

I am an owner and was led to believe when I made the purchase last year that it would be a smooth process if I was to ever sell back to Seal Bay/Bunn leisure. Due to starting a new role in my current job abroad next year. I reached out to Andy from sales initially who promised me he will have all this sorted smoothly and Seal Bay would buy back my caravan however I would not get what I invested but it would be a reasonable price. This was in June this year and since then I called and messaged Andy and have not heard from him at all. I then phoned the sales office and spoke with Nigel who is head of sales, Nigel asked for the settlement figure (I emailed this across instantly) and reassured me he will assist with the selling of my caravan. This was towards the end of July, I have not heard back from Nigel either.
Today I spoke with Dave in Sales who told me the caravan I paid £35,000 for with veranda/decking seal bay will only pay around £7000 and that is if I am lucky. He also said if he offers anything near the 10k mark he would get his P45 from Nigel.

I am now on the verge of a mental breakdown because the settlement figure is just over £26000 and with the offer made by Dave I am going to be left with a debt of £19,000. I am a single parent and cannot express the stress and fear I am going through at the moment.

I am so scared and don’t know who to turn to for help so I can sell my caravan. If I had known the value of the caravan after a year would go down to nearly £7000 from £35,000 I would never have bought it. Just the thought of the outstanding is making me cry.

Don't get suckered !!
Never ever purchase a caravan from these cowboys !
The long con is, they will take all the profit from your caravan. Any problems or damage caused by renters, will come out of your pocket !
You get the privilege of paying for everything, they'll pay for nothing !!

Yeah, they'll sweet talk you into thinking you'll make a profit. They got sale signs in all the lets. BUT, at the end of the rental year you get no money, just a big bill for utilities.

awful experience with the caravan and…

awful experience with the caravan and customer service as my daughter woke in the night to use the toilet went to get back into bed and hit her face on the bedside table after checking the table the unit was so sharp am hadn’t been rounded off on the edges
After making a complaint the unit was taken away to be checked then I was told it wasn’t sharp… I was so upset and disappointed to be made out that I was lying and the unit was never brought back to the caravan as it obviously dangerous! But I was told it wasn’t.. I will be contacting head office I wasn’t even given an apology my daughter has a big cut on her face!

If you want a sunbed arrive at 7am

I'll give our caravan 5 stars as a family member owns one so we had the pleasure staying in it. However my review is based on the entertainment side of things at the park. On the Friday night we decided to see what was on at the embassy. We arrived at 830pm to find no tables free and buggys blocking all walking areas. Having an 11 and a ten year old we arrived at that time due to them being to old for the annoying fun factory live for smaller children and the awful annoying bongo bingo. So if you want to get a table your have to endure that chaos. Being a huge company I'm gobsmacked at the prices they charge at the bar I wasn't expecting two pints of beer to be over £10. Secondly on the Sunday we took our girls to use the pool at the lido arrived at 9am to find all sunbeds taken by towels not people. I spoke to a member of staff stating this is unfair to be told to get there earlier or loose out to completely ignore the fact no-one was actually there as the pool didn't open till 10am. I eventually found two empty sunbeds to then be confronted by a women stating these were taken as she had saved them for friends again I complained and staff weren't interested. So cut a long story short if you want a sunbed arrive at 7am. Or have a sign up stating no reserving sunbeds!!

Sea view Lodge, Sea Bay, Selsey

Booked the sea view Lodge which is directly on the Beach. Amazing views over the ocean and you can see the Isle of Wight. The lodge is located away from the swimming pool, Arcades and bars so very quiet but only a couple of mins walk if you fancy them. The lodge itself was very clean and presented beautifully, decor is spot on. Everything we needed was here, including an Iron, and a bottle opener, phew. There was also a welcome gift basket and bottle of Prosecco, which didn't last long I'm happy to report. There are 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and a sofa bed to accommodate 2 more, there is also the HUGE BONUS of a utility room where you can wash all your clothes, we made the most of that, very handy. My son who is 8 had a great time, he was happy with exploring the finds on the beach everyday and night walks, however he really enjoyed the Arcades to. We will absolutely go again, my son and I did not want to leave. We booked directly with C S Holiday lets.

I’m so disappointed ☹️ stayed on the touring camp site at seal bay the pitches were very close together nearly on top of each other the night before we left my granddaughter was very ill we left early the nxt morning as we needed to get her home to see a dr I had no time to take the tent down before 10 am leaving time hoping my son in-laws could come later to do this I had 2 phone calls from them a lady rung saying they had to take the tent down and could not keep it there for me as there was nowhere to store it the site is massive so I had to ask them to dispose of it prices very high for camping 🏕☹️

Safe to say we won’t be going back any…

Safe to say we won’t be going back any time soon. First night my daughter broke her nose which resulted in hours in a&e. Poor lighting at rear of caravan where the door is she was going into. They promote they have wifi which did not work and you call the customer service team you get about 5 minutes and then it cuts off so having our data on has increased our phone bill. We also had to call out maintenance each day as we kept losing hot water, it was a temporary fix until a lovely gentlemen who knew what he was doing told us the gas valve has gone. Worst thing is this issue was there before we got into our caravan. I had to take my baby home to stay with my parents as we could not wash her before bedtime. As a gesture we get a 20% refund from the holiday which does not pay for any of our wasted time and not a fun experience.

The biggest con of all - Seal bay


The biggest con of all ! never purchase a caravan from these cowboys Seal Bay are the biggest rip off merchants there are ! they take all the profit from your caravan and make you pay for the damages caused by there paying guest ! you pay for everything , they take the money, your caravan gets trashed they bills you to fix it ? there paying guests use all of the gas & electric , you pay for it all ? so at the end of the rental year you get no money , and a big bill for extra utilities , they should be wearing balaclavas.

Awful place to stay would never go…

Awful place to stay would never go back! Security were a bunch of angry yobs (all bar one who was a lovely man) my plug was sparking in my caravan which even the electrician said was very dangerous and could of caused serious harm to my children. The single beds were like prison beds as my son called them, just an utter joke from start to finish. After spending over £500 for a caravan and hundreds on activities I am very disappointed. Would not recommend to anyone
