Seal Bay touring pitch

Just spent 2 nights on a touring pitch with our grandson. Very impressed, everywhere spotlessly clean and without exception all staff very friendly and helpful. Pool complex brilliant

we're new owners at seal bay

we're new owners at seal bay and don't normally bother to leave reviews but on this occasion I want to.

Andy assisted us all the way with buying and setting up our caravan and was also very accomadating and compationate with the family issue we had in between. Only been here two weekends and we knew straight away it was the best move we made.

I'd like to take this opportunity to thank andy and the team for the time they put in for us.

Anyone thinking of coming to seal bay , do it you won't be disappointed 👌

The best weekend ever

Just came home from the best weekend ever at Medmerry Park. Completely dog friendly, so much space to exercise my two Cavies. Two dog fields, an agility park and a lovely beach. Staff were super friendly, the food in the pub was exceptional and a menu for the dogs as well. Our chalet was spacious, so well equipped and spotless. A lovely peaceful setting with the added bonus of access to Seal Bay for a good night out. Booked again for August and can’t wait to go back.

Wonderful Views

Hi I booked one of the hot tub lodges for 2 nights, from the warm welcome to the welcome pack it was a wonderful experience. the cleanliness of the lodge was exceptional with plenty of towels, bottled water, tea and coffee. The hot tub was spotless and all ready for me. I will definately return, it's a very special place with amazing views over the Sound of Kararra. Thank you to all the staff who looked after me.

horrendous cove

I have been attempting since the 4th of january to leave the park, i do not get an up to date statement i have emailed staff and their line managers and their line managers with little or no response. I have been sent other peoples personal and financial information in error, have organised a collection to be told its not possible........

what can i do now

do not buy a caravan here it will be a huge mistake

Went for Christmas

Went for Christmas. When booked was told everything open. Most wasn't. They said they sent email but I never got it. Email also apparently said they were doing lunch which I'd been told they weren't. Bed and sofa worn out and uncomfortable. They said they didnt know. 5 person booking in a 6-8 caravan with 4 dining chairs. Half way through cooking xmas lunch oven broke. Whilst maintenance came out turkey had sat for 2 hours so unsafe to eat. Waste of money and upset family. They said well it got fixed next day. Wouldn't know as left early we were having such a rubbish time. Worst Christmas ever.

2 Stays in 2 months & no hot water

Recent 2 stays at Drimsynie park in Lochgoilhead have had no hot water to shower and they were unable to fix it moved us and problem continued. Ran out of draft ale, beer and lager on Hogmany in Scotland - can’t actually believe it! Staff are overwhelmed and have no experience and management seem to have no communication with the staff at all nor are they visible when there’s a problem . Beautiful place but this company is really making a mess of things

I have sent a two page letter of…

I have sent a two page letter of complaint following a stay in September 2023 , accommodation was far from acceptable standard . Despite following complaints procedure which involved sending a written complaint by recorded delivery within a specified timescale , I have had no communication or complaints addressed . My 3 night stay cost my party over 1500 pounds so not a bargain getaway. Customer service from company non existent very very dissatisfied

Absolute disgrace

Absolute disgrace, we can't even give it a rating of 1!
We have been visiting Bunn Leisure for 20 plus years on and off and since it has become Seal Bay, they have become the most greedy holiday park in the UK.
We will NEVER visit again. They totally ruined our New Year's Eve. We purchased Entertainment passes for the 3 night stay, only to be told we needed to purchase additional New Years Eve tickets on top of the tickets we had. Their argument is/was 'it was written in the info'...but all it states is that we need Entertainment passes, which is what we thought we had, £195 later.
So we accepted we couldn't get into the main club's (Embassy, White Horses and Viking) and went to Smokey's bar - which was closed by 8pm. Went upstairs to Solent View...1 out, 1 in!! We had no chance of getting in the tiny venue. Not enough staff on any of the bars throughout our stay, miserable staff on reception for swimming. Honestly, I was embarrassed, as I organised it for the family and here we are at 9.30pm on New Year's Eve back in the caravan. We will be asking for a full refund for the so called Entertainment passes...and no, we don't want a credit note for another stay, we won't ever return. 2 teenagers and my parents were extremely disappointed, and who can blame them? we all are. I cannot warn you enough...DO NOT STAY AT SEAL BAY, unless you have money to throw away. Everything costs extra, everywhere is overcrowded and simply not enough staff. Don't get me started on the portion of chips for £4.49! Microwave chips from home look and taste better! The director's/owners of this place should be utterly ashamed of themselves...as they fan their faces on their 5* all inclusive New Year's Eve trips....at our expense!

Totally spoilt festive season

Came down to spend Christmas in a friend’s caravan. The Grinch has been at work and cancelled Christmas here methinks. One complex closed, the other was like a ghost town this week, with terrible entertainment. 90% facilities closed….last came 2years ago and it was magical. Doesn’t bode well for 2024. My friend is selling at end of this season as he’s had enough! I won’t be back, spoilt it really….very sad 😢

I am really appauled by this company

I am really appauled by this company. I have spent £500 on booking this holiday for new years eve only to find out 2 weeks before that you need to pay £45 pp £25 kids on top of the £500. there is 5 of usnothing was mentioned about that when booking I wouldn't of booked as the would cost us nearly £700 for a 3 days holiday and that's without spending money. I paid £260 in October so you would think doubling the price it would be included. They wouldn't give me a refund and wouldn't let me move the dates only to a date in 2023 which my date I'm there is the last day of 2023. What an absolute joke. Staff on the phone were rude and absolutely no help. Also to top it off the white horse is shut which they never informed people so the kids are going to be absolutely bored stiff.

Rodent Infestation, No Hot Water or Power

My wife and I booked an October week holiday, along with our 4 year old and 5 month old baby.

During a time when money is tight for everyone, we spent a lot of money, not only on the accommodation but on food, petrol, clothing etc and a lot of time preparing to travel with two children, to come to Argyll Holiday in Drimsynie for the first time.

From the start, our first day was near enough a disaster/write off as when we entered the A Framed accommodation at Eagle Lodge and found rats/mice scurrying around. As we had brought our four year old and five month old baby along with us, as part of our first family holiday together, we had move because of the clear rodent infestation and the unknown risk allowing our kids on the floor or the beds.

I then went to reception and we were then moved to another property, which was dated, less spacious than what we had booked but it did have a hot tub. My wife and I initially thought that a hot tub was a nice bonus but that idea quickly dwindled away as we could not use it, as it was overflowing on the decking, cold and clearly broken.

We then found out that within the property there was no hot water which made washing dishes or even bathing my children really difficult. At this point we had been travelling all day, packed a car, unpacked into the A Framed house, unpacked from there because of rodent infestation and into another property, which we never picked.

I went to reception again to voice my concerns and was advised that someone would be out later to fix the hot water/hot tub issue. I could not even consider moving properties again because i was that shattered.

This did not happen until very much later and we still had to resort to washing my five month old and four year old in the sink area, using kettles of hot water.

This was not the first day to our holiday, that we planned and was really not acceptable.

Day two was slightly better, as we now had hot water and were able to start relaxing until we tried to go swimming. The system of entry really needs looked at because you are told there is no need to book and again, when you arrive at their reception, there is a booking system. Not helpful. In comparison to the previous two days, day three was ok.

Day four, the Thursday, the electricity failed on the site or the local area and I went to reception about half 9 to seek reassurance, where I was told it would be fix in no time. These things happen and i went back to my accommodation.

We had no formally lines of communication throughout, as what to do in the mean time or what our options would be and I had to revisit reception again where this time, I spoke to Kelsi, who I have to say was brilliant.

I was then told that the power would be back on about six o'clock that evening but there was no guarantees this would happen but I could not take that risk with my two children. I expressed my concerns about the lack of heating, showers or the basic facility of heating water for my five month old child's bottles.

I was advised by Kelsi that should I leave the site, the sales team or management at Hunter's Quay would be contacted in regards to refunds. My details and concerns were noted and I was told, I would be copied into the email sent and someone will be contact asap. This never happened.

Another guest attended at reception during this time and was told the same.

My wife and I had no other option, as we could not risk being left in the dark with no heating or heating facilities but to leave. Ruining day four, day five and ultimately the holiday experience overall.

When I returned home, I constantly checked my emails and still no word. On 24th October, I contacted the Argyll Holiday sales team on 03454596412 and was quite rudely, told that they were aware of the numerous complaints but had no staff to respond to them as the person that deals with it, is off sick.

I then explained my concerns again and they advised they would contact Kelsi directly, to contact me but again, I had no response. I then had to find another way of voicing my concerns, taking time out my day again and contact Drimsynie directly.

This time, i did receive a response but was offered a 20% discount for future visit, which i found quite hurtful and rude, when this was the first time my family have attended any of the Argyll Holiday home facilities and as of now, my wife and I have no intention of returning.

I responded to this email and true Argyll Holiday home fashion, three days later, I still have no response.

If I could, I would ask for a full refund because the overall experience and lasting memories it has provided, are not pleasants ones.

Not a very accommodating caravan park!

Went to this resort and booked 5 caravans as we were a big group. We arrived in the park around 3pm so we can have a look around the area.

First hiccup was the fact that our caravans were sooooo far away from each another. This was not what was previously agreed. We spent most of our time “caravan hunting”.

Check in time was 4pm so we waited and that was okay. Around 4pm we went to our respective caravans. One of the caravans (507) was filthy, obviously not been cleaned in preparation for our arrival. So we called reception and they sent a team to clean it. But because we were waiting out in the cold with kids with us while they were cleaning, I had to ask if they could move us to a different caravan instead. They agreed to do this. So we went to reception again, which was far away and got our new keys.

We arrived to our new caravan (Nab36) and it was cleaner, so we started unloading our stuff, however, upon checking the rooms, the sheets were not changed. Some of the beds did not even have sheets on them. So we had to call reception again who sent another team to do the beds.

At this point, it was already getting dark and we have not had dinner yet. So we just had to wait for the beds to be made. The team started removing the old sheets. But to our surprise, housekeeping came out of the room and said, “THESE ARE YOUR NEW SHEETS, WE HAVE REMOVED THE OLD ONES, JUST PUT THE NEW ONES ON YOURSELVES, WE HAVE TO GO TO ANOTHER JOB”.

Who does that???!!! Your housekeeping obviously cant keep up with how many caravans you have.

On our second day, 2 of the caravans ran out of gas as well and it took hours for it to arrive. They couldn’t cook dinner or take a bath and had to go to another caravan (which was far) to cook their meals and bathe.

A day before our arrival, we rang security to ask if we could put up a gazeebo beside one of our caravans so we can at least have one common area where we can gather, the supervisor agreed as long as we remove it at nighttime. But when we started putting it up on the second day, security passed by and asked us to take it down and said it wasn’t permitted.

This is not a very accommodating caravan park if you ask me!

Missing clothes

We stayed at my company's holiday lodge at drimsynie in June 2023 We had a wonderful time in the lodge! We found the reception staff when we found them not very Friendly but didn't let that bother us We didn't use it again ! Unfortunately when we left the lodge after a week when packing we stupidity left some clothes in the main bedroom wardrobe when we realised after a long journey home tried phoning drimsynie it took us nearly two weeks before anyone answered also emailed but no answered then finally one day I rang and someone answered I was in shock but the girl I spoke to said they had been found and put in lost property then we had the problem of getting them posted back I offered to pay any costs even the company I work for who own the lodge said to post back and bill them but still no one could be bothered I have never come across such bad customer service it's non existent! I emailed them to say a colleague was going there in September and would collect when they asked for them they now can't find them I have spoken again to reception and spoke to someone who said they were there in a cupboard but hasn't got the key and would call me the next morning and gave me her email address not surprised but no phone call and blocked email! I'm assuming my clothes aren't there anymore and have been taken that is why I can't get answers what a shocking unprofessional company you are I would like my clothes back and the general manager to sort it out and the staff on the reception ?

Love Seal Bay!

We purchased a lodge in April. Sales service from Luenna was great. We have been enjoying it so much so far. There is tons to do - we have found the staff to be really helpful. Beautiful empty beach! Coming from London we find the food prices ok. Service in restaurants has been great - even at very bust times. We can’t wait for our trips!
