Terrible Customer Service

I have been trying to book with Gwen al Mor for a special weekend in October for my partners 70th birthday. The prices online say it will be £279 for the weekend and yet when I try to book the price seems to go up? It is unclear why?
I rang customer services only to speak to an extremely unhelpful customer service agent Katie who clearly didn't bother to look online to see what I was seeing as she just blankly told me that the prices do rise at any moment (I checked and they hadn't it was still saying £279). I asked to speak to the manager, and she said that she was in charge. How can you honestly operate a service where you advertise at one price and then charge another with no clear explanation. Also if I were you I might consider moving Katie away from a customer service role, she is not doing your business any good at all.

Avoid

I booked my trip 9 days ago via cottages.com and sadly two days later my Grandma (who I am very close to) had a fall and was taken into hospital. Within days she was taken very ill and diagnosed with cancer too so I am unable to make the holiday as it is a 5.5 hour drive away from my gran and I need to visit and look after her. I asked if I could change the date (I think this is reasonable given the circumstances and the fact I only booked a matter of days earlier). I understand policies but I really do think it is disgusting treatment that I can’t even rearrange and have to lose £700 when times are hard anyway, with a big company like this. I understand policies and am a reasonable person but I obviously didn’t expect this stressful situation to happen. I have never asked to rearrange a booking last minute before and was really looking forward to this well needed break and am disappointed that no change of date was even considered. It was just a no I have to lose the booking or money. Cottages.com weren’t very helpful either but the ultimate decision was with Cove - cottages said I could change the date if Cove allowed and they didn’t let my even change the date. I had another booking for two days before this one for a stop on our journey to the Cove cottage and they have been kind and let us change the dates to next year - so I will stick to Airbnb in future - avoid

I stayed at solway caravan park for a…

I stayed at solway caravan park for a week NEVER AGAIN. I don’t know where to start!
They called last orders at 2205.
We had no hot water for 13 hours.
The bathroom door was falling off (this was an upgrade btw so dread to think what our accommodation would have been like before 😂)
I’ve never seen so much moss on all the accommodations all it would need is a power/jet hose!
It wasn’t a totally dog friendly site like advertised we could only eat in the arcade (which if u wanted a quiet meal. Would be out of the question)
They did offer us a 25% discount and an upgrade but only for that site! Y would u except that if the site is as rubbish?
I could go on with the amount of things that were disgraceful but I won’t waste my time. All i would say is DONT GO THERE ULL BE WASTING UR MONEY

Worst campsite ever and company ever

Worst campsite ever, arrived Friday 23rd aug after a booking for electric pitch to be told (after 3 hour drive with a 4 year old) got no pitches as the place has been flooded ALL WEEK and we’ve told people not to come but not you as we didn’t have you number, they DID have my number and email as I checked and had also been emailing them about booking activities. I was told there’s no pitch stuck you tent under that tree! It was not a pitch and it had no electric port, there was also no electric on site that night and no running water in toilets, we had to leave as it was unsafe, filthy and flooded, my 4 year old had a serious fall as it was so flooded and dangerous on the grass. Since then they refuse to answer emails or calls about a refund for a service I paid for and they did not offer. solway and cove as a company are disgracull, 61 horrendous reviews in here! They have took my money and refused to give it back

Entertainment passes not worth it

We stayed at Seal Bay in Selsey for 3 nights under an Airbnb host so had to purchase separate entertainment passes. It cost us £143 for 4 adults and 4 children for a length of 2 nights. At first I thought it was reasonably priced but after actually experiencing what was included in the passes, I think it’s too much IMO. The whole resort was MASSIVE so understandably, there were a lot of people trying to make use of their passes. The Embassy was too small to provide entertainment for everyone who wanted to enjoy it. You can only get into the pool for an hour each and it the pool facilities were poorly maintained and too crowded, the management need to rethink how to better control the flow of people for the hourly swim passes as some people just stay for longer. We had fun but won’t come back.

Had old out dated tv in a gold caravan…

Had old out dated tv in a gold caravan whitch couldn't get any channels on reported it on first day and didn't get seen to untill the forth day of my holiday . When handed keys in seen manager about this problem and she said I could have 25%discount if booked again second week when got home I tried to book holiday again because holiday was cheaper than what I paid the first time and the reception said I can't have my compensation discount it's just a big joke and the Manour of the receptionist she was just sniggering on the phone as if it's him again the manager didn't want to talk to me when I had a issue with the discount my advice is thay all have a bad customer service attitude and it needs sorting!!!!

Amazing house

We stayed at Seal Bay resort on the Green Lawns site at the beginning of August, we had the 6 bedroom house Greensleeves, what a brilliant house it is, everything you need for a self catering holiday including a hot tub, which the children absolutely loved, there were 8 adults & 4 children, the house is so spacious for that amount of people, each family had their own bathroom so getting ready in the mornings & evenings was a bonus. With your own games room & private garden it's a perfect house, it's a bit of a trek to the indoor swimming pool but only took about 10 mins to walk to the outdoor lido & we managed to spend 2 days at that pool, we also used the facilities at the Whitehorse site which again is only about 10 mins walk from the house. Overall its a perfect place to visit if you are a large group holidaying together & you have young children. We would definitely return & wouldn't hesitate to book Greensleeves again

Greensleeves house appears to be an ideal choice for a large group, thanks to its generous space, numerous bathrooms, and enjoyable features such as a hot tub and games room. It's fantastic that the kids had a blast in the hot tub and there was ample room for everyone to prepare with ease.

Being close to the outdoor lido and having access to the amenities at the Whitehorse site likely enhanced the comfort and pleasure of your visit. It's great to know that you're already thinking of coming back and rebooking Greensleeves for your next stay. Laura @ Cove UK

Appalling customer service

I bought my daughter a voucher for solway holiday park. She made a mistake with the dates. Cove refused to alter the dates without demanding £160 extra. They also refused a refund. I've called them quite a few times and been lied to by staff about this. They deliberately lie and promised to call back which they never did. . Reply to response by cove UK. I have been dealing with the customer relations team. What a stupid standard answer you have given. Terrible company. Appalling customer service

We arrived at seal bay on monday 29th…

We arrived at seal bay on monday 29th july and its now wednesday 31st july and we are back home. The accomadation was good but we were appalled at the lack of evening entertainment for the kids. My granddaughter cried both nights as there wasn't much going on. I know you are no longer bunn leisure but they were great for their entertainment and now its the same in both main clubs so not really an option to go to the other club. Also queuing to get into the swimming pool was ridiculous so much waiting around before you can get in and kids dont like the long wait. All in all very disappointed after spending over £800 for this "holiday". We have been coming here for years but this was definately the last time

We booked a good caravan with booking.com for seal bay site when we arrived there no facility to authorise my bank card receptionist was not very helpful fortunately my sons card was accepted. We found the steps to caravan not very safe or very stable but my big problem was we booked gold which it wasn’t when I questioned this was told we were in silver not in the slightest interested when I contacted customer services and told to get in touch with booking.com after going through your online brochure my caravan looked a lot like a bronze caravan

My holiday has been cancelled a second time at Medmerry . Tried to book alternatives with the team there but there not on the ball and the alternatives have now gone . This was supposed to be my third holiday with cove this year . Asked for deposit back and will go elsewhere in the hope of finding something nice not just what’s left . Disappointed .

Booked a holiday at hunter's Quay 3 weeks ago. Only to see today that same holiday is £170 cheaper. Angry is not the word.This was Booked For 5th August. I phoned their call centre re the sudden drop in price. Explained we have been coming to Hunter's Quay for many many years. When it was Argyll Holidays. We are now pensioners and £170 is a huge amount of money to us. I perhaps would have expected a longer holiday or more expensive holiday to be reduced by this amount, but not a 4 night holiday. I have been given an email to send to reservations but no manager's name. Hoseasons are refunding people who have booked holidays but that are now substantially reduced. If I cancel I will lose all my money and my granddaughter who is autistic will miss out on our short and only break. We won't be back I'm sorry to say aa we love Hunter's Quay and have been coming here for 15 years. Not a change for the better.

Booking issues

Why when I go book on stratheck the price increases by £106 for the stay once I have put the occupants details in? I have spoken to the site and they have no answers. I have spoken to customer service and they have no answers??? Very puzzled. Any answers would be appreciated

Luxury hot tub lodge hunters Quay

Stayed in luxury hot tub lodge hunters Quay staff were lovely unfortunately our 4mth old granddaughter ended up at hospital in dunnoon 2 days of the break so week was spoilt only issue we had fridge freezer wasn't working reported it twice still not working when we left had to throw all our food out was promised an email when we checked out but nothing

Missing Games Console

We had a great time at Solway Holiday Park with our 3 children over the May Bank Holiday Weekend and would’ve left a 4 or 5 star rating.
But, when we checked out and locked the Chalet, we forgot to pack our Son’s Nintendo Switch which we left plugged in the Living Room.
When we contacted the Park to inform them of this the Receptionist said nothing had been found.
That games console didn’t walk out of there on its own and the Member of staff we spoke to couldn’t care less. So the mystery continues.
We’ve emailed and phoned the Park a number of times but have got no where.
Customer Service is nonexistent.
We were going to book again for later in the year but will go elsewhere.

Gwel an mor, Portreath

Booked a ‘non pet friendly’ lodge through Hoseasons (due to allergies and asthma). Travelled 10 hours with 3 young children to arrive at a filthy pet friendly lodge. They grey carpets were brown with the odd yellow stain. Was told they had no other lodges available unless I upgrade! I didn’t want anything fancy, just somewhere clean to eat and sleep in. We waited 7 hours for them to clean the lodge including the carpets. When we came back 3 hours later it still stank of dogs. Dog hair on the floor in the master bedroom, fridge plates, towels, bedding. It’s everywhere! Pubic hair in the bathrooms. Stains on the bedding and towels. I did contact them again to say it was still dirty and was told again they will investigate it. The customer service is shocking! Why would you keep someone in a lodge that has housed hundreds of dogs when they have allergies to them!

URGENT..I am awaiting an email from Cove. I am wanting a full refund of £278

I am awaiting an email from Cove complaints department, I have asked for the contact details of your CEO which haven’t been forthcoming. I have been writing back and forth to various people to try to obtain a refund for a short stay at Drimsynie Hotel in Scotland in April of this year.
My latest email had been addressed to the complaints team uk, on 22nd May 2024 to which I have received no reply to date. I have written to them 3 times now.
All such very poor service from the top down it would seem.

Just spent a week At hunters quay park and it was amazing
All accommodation was like new very modern spotlessly clean the part was Incredible we had our small pups and thought we may get a older unit but it was amazing very new and lovely
All staff from reception to bar restaurant and fitness where all so friendship helpful and made you feel so welcome
Loads to do with kids and pets and the pet goodie bags where a real special touch
We had a great time and look forward to our next visit later this year

Dirty, Dated and Dismal accommodation

This is the second time we have holidayed at Gwel an Mor but this time, it was a terrible experience! So much for a luxury resort with core values of hospitality and excellence that set out the desire to "... deliver outstanding experiences for our residents and guests". From the start, the booking was not handled well. I rang up direct to enquire if hot tubs were available in 2 bed Scandinavian and was told by the girl on the phone that "all Scandinavian lodges had hot tubs", Having checked on the website again, I was not convinced that this was the case, and the week prior to our holiday rang to check that the two bed I had booked would have a hot tub. The receptionist told me that lodges under 3 bedrooms did not have them and she could not say IF the girl had advised me wrongly! It was really important that we had this as it was a birthday break for my disabled step son and my son and his partner were coming to spend the afternoon with us, so to turn up and find that they had wrongly informed me, would have been a disaster - thankfully, I got a 3 bed lodge after paying an additional £60.

Upon arrival, we could see that our lodge was what I would call filthy. The cleaner and cleaning supervisor, in total made 3 trips to clean it but even then, it was not clean: toilets dirty, all floors dirty, rubbish behind the bedside table, dirty dishes in the drawers, food crumbs everywhere, a dirty swing bin - just DIRTY. We had paid the extra £40 to access the lodge early at 12pm but even though they contacted us 20 mins after this time, it certainly wasn't ready for us to use. After I complained to the cleaning supervisor about this, she did get the Admin team to reimburse the £40.

Then there was the problem with the hot tub. The water was below the filter and when the maintenance man came, he stated that if it was a leak that it could not be repaired as the whole unit would have to be taken out. However, it was useable when we came back to it 5 hours later but it stunk of stagnant water. Not exactly relaxing or appealing to go in afterwards.
Also, the maintenance man informed us that the lodge was not in use the day before our arrival, so why ask us to pay £40 to enter early and not have it cleaned when nobody had used it?

After a 7.5 hour journey to get to the resort, that afternoon, we had the cleaning team come back 3 times, the hot tub man pay a visit and then twice for staff to fix a problem with the router/internet. After over 4 hours in the lodge, the cleaning supervisor said that she had found us a lodge near the front but by this time, I'd had enough of the hassle of it all and we decided to stay put. She left saying, however that she would organise a "suprise" for us - we never found out what that was, as nothing ever materialised!

In summary, the resort seemed poorly maintained, the staff not very well trained and certainly not the 5 star accommodation that its website boasts. I would have sent feedback to Cove UK but I could not find any method of communication to do this.
