Hi There, Moved from Tarpon to Cobia a few years ago now and have no regrets

I was with Cobia since April and initially I was impressed with a great friendly sales call promising all my needs would be met and that I would be assigned my own accountant.

After a very short time, I realised things such as Payroll and pension submissions were missed. As well as this, I was constantly noticing mistakes with book-keeping which most business owners would probably miss.

When waiting for my assigned accountant to get back to me on important issues, I would not hear anything for weeks, only to chase and find out he's on annual leave without anyone taking over my enquiries in his absence.

I had given them an opportunity to rectify things after I highlighted some initial mistakes and they promised to improve but things just carried on as they were, so ultimately I had to move to a new accountant.

The move was also painful as my new accountant had to gain professional clearance from Cobia and this also took several weeks to gather all the information needed from Cobia.

I have wasted an awful lot of time with this company and would not recommend them to anybody. It's a shame as they seem to be a nice bunch of people but the service received has been abysmal.

After engagement in October it is now January and they have taken the money, told me they cannot complete accounts due to a missing YE statement "but would check with his manager" I can't believe a missing document is an unusual case and I'm pretty certain this could have been obtained from HMRC if essential

They have completed accounts for the "easy" non VAT, Non PAYE property company, though that took 6 weeks but now I in the mids of a financial application for said company I am reasonably certain the turnover figures are incorrect and I will need to arrange a correction.

Even before this - they needed constant chasing. Compentent perhaps for the most basic of accounts lots of sales comms with "do this now or it will cost you more later...if that's not a red flag i shouldn't have ignored...) , little update on the actual work makes it feel l ike nothing is being done. Perhaps overloaded victims of their own sucesss

I was looking for an accountant that would be interested in helping me. If I could do my accounts I would. I've been with Cobia for over a year now and I'm not getting any kind of service. No communication, It's quite frustrating as I don't have the time to chase. I know I'm not as proactive with providing information but they do not even get back to you on simple tasks and requests.

The last conversation I had they were too busy and too short-staffed.
Very disappointing with the service. I even said if I need to pay more to get stuff done I would and still nothing...

Fantastic payroll company, built up a great relationship, always worked to a very high professional standard and delivered accurate payroll every month.
