I have visited their Jacaranda office…

I have visited their Jacaranda office for my free annual vision exam, after I confirmed with the office and AETNA that it would be indeed a totally free exam.
When checking in, I again had been reassured that the visit would be free.
In the paperwork I noticed $60 fee for "refraction".
I crossed it out and was again reassured that it was not needed.
The doctor also had not provided it.
Now I am stuck with $40 co-pay for "office visit" because they could not bill it as a free visual exam without "refraction".
I contacted AETNA and the representative agreed that my responsibility was $0.
I filed grievance with AETNA since the Center for Sight billing department insisted "that their policy was a mandatory$60 refraction to bill it as free visual exam".
So what makes it free in AETNA benefits if Center for Sight makes it $40 for office visit or $60 for refraction?!
I filed grievance with AETNA and hopefully it would be resolved.
I will never go to this office again.

This is the worst eye exam experience…

This is the worst eye exam experience I’ve ever had! From start to finish -
The original owners have sold out to a big corporation and they are terrible!!!!!
I had what seemed to be a teenage Latin boy do my so called eye exam - the “doctor” pooped in for a minute and I was done - they gave me a prescription and brought me into the eye glass SHOWROOM - and there I was pressured to buy frames, even though it was the end of the day and I was exhausted - the woman gave me a total LOVE BOMBING!
She was So Good at selling I wound up spending well over a thousand dollars!
The prescription was NEVER right for me!!!
I kept going back and she kept telling me -
Oh, you’ll get used to them! BS!
I’m on the lookout for an old-fashioned real eye doctor - not a cheaply paid kid giving the eye exam! And a con girl salesperson!
I hope I have good luck finding someone!
I’m not sure exactly when this happened -

Called and called this office

Called and called this office. Phone calls were never returned. This isn't a center for sight, it's a center for scammers who bully you into getting cataract surgery, then could care less about the outcome.

Always a wait

Always a wait. If you have an appointment with Center for Sight, block off at least 1 1/2 to 2 hours because they overbook appointments. In hopes of avoiding the wait, I scheduled my last appointment at 8:15 am. I waited until 8:40 in the first waiting room before the physician assistant took me back for my pre appointment check. 5 minutes later I was taken to a second waiting room and was told that the doctor would see me soon. 30 minutes later, at 9:15 my doctor took a different patient back for their appointment. At this point I went to the receptionist and told her I was not willing to wait any longer and left. Obviously CFS doesn’t respect or value their patients time. I will not be going back.

DO NOT GO HERE!!!

DO NOT GO HERE!!!! PLEASE READ THIS ENTIRE REVIEW!!! They will scam you by not telling you if they accept your insurance!!! I showed my medicare supplement card to 3 different staff members at 2 different locations and were told by ALL OF THEM that I was in network. So, I made an appointment at the UTC location to see an ophthalmologist and was told I needed cataract surgery immediately. After seeing Dr Soscia for my surgery consult, I was ushered into the office of Christine Eislero, Patient Care Counselor. She discussed pricing and told me my co-pay would be almost $2000 for just the surgery!! After speaking with several others about their recent cataract surgeries done by other, reputable doctors, I learned that my co-pay should be only $150!! In the end, I found out that I was NOT in-network......a fact that was conveniently omitted by Christine and another insurance/finance specialist. It told almost a week and numerous phone calls before the insurance/finance specialist admitted I was out of network!!! They have charged me the out-of-network cost for my visit with Dr. Soscia!!! And to add insult to injury, my initial visit with Dr. Hamilton was also a scam! He turned out to be an optometrist!!!! And then they screwed up filing the claim for that visit!! So another several phone calls with my insurance company to straighten out this mess! I have since seen another ophthalmologist and was told I didn't need cararact surgery any time soon......It is obvious it's all about the $$$$$ and their support staff is very skillful at misleading the patient. Should be shut down.....

Cataract Surgery and Follow Up Appointments

Last year I had the Cataract surgery on left eye at Center for Sight on University in Sarasota, Fl. Covid hit so I waited till this year to get second eye done. First eye turned out pretty good. Took months for hallows to disappear and flashes of light from the surgery. Right eye was going fine but after surgery, it was still foggy. I waited a month for my followup appointment. The tech who dilated and tested my eye agreed she could also see some leftover gel from behind the lens that was causing the fogginess. But when Dr. Hunt looked at it, he abruptly said he could not see anything. I said, I'm not making this up! He said he didn't say I said that but with a less then complementary tone of voice. He then stood up abruptly, shoved the equipment aside and hurried out the door to go ask the tech what she said she saw. I could hear them talking outside. Dr. Hunt returned and said all she said was that she could see the incision mark but nothing about any gel. What!!!!! The first follow up appointment they did the YAG laser to get the 22 floaters out. That worked but I was charged for that. Its a bait and switch. They tell you touch ups are included but the touch up they use is not included.

We never discussed the incision mark, only the gel causing the blurriness. Dr. Hunt was condescending to me, abrupt and did nothing to correct the problem caused from the operation. He said you can get a second opinion. He set up an appointment for me to see Dr. Scocia who did the procedure. I arrived five minutes prior to appointment. There were only 2 people in waiting room. They both were called in and in the next 30 minutes, 4 more people who arrived were called in. I could here two of them say they had a 2:30 pm appointment. Mine was for 2 pm. Not only did those 2 go be fore me, but so did the other two that came in after me. I could only presume that they purposely called others ahead of me to punish me for complaining about the poor job done on my eye and that they were not correcting it. The follow up appointments are included in the total price you pay up front if no insurance is used. Because insurance does not pay for anything above basic, you pay out of pocket so I paid $3,000 per eye. I finally got up and left. I could not believe how I was treated after they botched up my eye. Later that day I get a recorded message from Dr. Scocia claiming he read Dr. Hunts notes about the floaters in my eye. What!!!!!

The lie just kept continuing......It was not floaters, Dr. Hunt zapped those on the first visit. It is leftover gel from behind the old lens that is causing the blur. They just can't admit when they are wrong because its out of their pocket and that's why I was treated that way.

I still have the foggy gel in my eye and not the floaters they claimed I said it was.

It's a 50/50 chance you will have great service or poor service but always ask questions to clarify what they say as they will say one thing up front and claim they never said that on the back end. If you get it in writing, even better. If you go here, pay attention to how they call people back for dilating. I won't go back here.

Exposing patients to covid

Took my father there to see Dr. Kim, remarkable doctor. Couldn’t be more friendly. However I believe she is the manager there, this woman named “Nikki” let me tell you about her and her foul language. I was waiting for my father and the entire time the only thing I could hear from her mouth was vulgar talk about her employee’s. The techs I met were the most kindest girls I have seen. But that Nikki did not have good things to say about, anyone. She made me super uncomfortable waiting. And she did not seem to follow the covid protocol for the safety of her staff but also the patients there. Because hearing her out loud state very clearly about “someone around here is positive but we are so short staffed that whoever will be coming in no exceptions.”

At that point I wanted to grab my father and get out of there. Never in my life have I been to such an unsettling environment.
I will be reporting that woman to the CDC and letting them know about her putting so many people at risk.

As for her attitude problem she should not be working there. Making the company she works for look so bad.

Paid over $5K for cataract removal

Paid over $5K for cataract removal, first eye went well but with second eye the next week the laser machine was broken & surgeon did procedure manually. They did not inform before or after doing it manually. Upon picking up the patient from this second procedure I was told by the patient that the procedure was different as they "din't use the machine". I tried to call Center for Sight to inquire but was unable to get an answer for 10 days after having made numerous calls. Today I was told "when the machine breaks we give the patient the option of rescheduling or proceeding manually. The patient claims he wasn't given any options and wasn't told this. Even worse the billing department said there is no adjustment in price even though payment was for the laser machine.
