Poor value

First time we had been to this establishment, and it was specifically to see Acantha Lang and we decided to have lunch to make a trip out of the day. Well Acantha did not dissapoint she is a star and should be playing better venues that this. The food we had was nice and good value for the price paid on advance booking, however the seats felt like they had come from the local charity shop and made the afternoon uncomfortable rather than a relaxing afternoon like it should have been. Food service was OK , but the wait for drinks was ridiculous only one person behind the bar making drinks for 100ish people , and table layout looked like they were craming in more people than the floor plan should have.

Would I go back ? Doubt it wasn't good value but did love Acantha.

The experience was highly…

The experience was highly unsatisfactory. Despite selecting premier seating, my assigned location was directly in the service aisle, significantly obstructing the view of the performance. Neither the staff nor management offered any form of apology.

This resulted in a profoundly disappointing evening, especially considering the substantial financial investment. I feel as though I have been unfairly treated.

The culinary offerings were rudimentary and excessively priced, providing no discernible value. I strongly advise against expending resources at this establishment.

Disappointing return visit - standards have slipped

A Once-Loved Experience That Has Lost Its Lustre

Having previously enjoyed a wonderful Sunday lunch at Boisdale of Canary Wharf, my business partner and I were genuinely looking forward to returning for the Frank Sinatra Sunday lunch experience on Sunday 18 January, this time hosting an important client. Regrettably, what should have been an impressive and memorable afternoon fell markedly short of expectations.

The most immediate issue was the sound. Throughout almost the entire performance, loud music from the floor below bled aggressively into the dining room. The bass reverberated through our chairs and table, creating a constant physical vibration. Seated by the window, the acoustics were so poor that we were unable to hear the majority of what was said unless the performer was physically in the restaurant area — which was infrequent. The volume within the room itself was also so excessive that conversation during both halves of the performance was virtually impossible. For what is marketed as a refined dining and musical experience, this was profoundly disappointing.

The food was similarly inconsistent. Starters were well executed and promising. Unfortunately, the main courses did not maintain that standard. The vegetables in particular felt perfunctory — as though prepared in bulk and reheated — lacking freshness or care. Overall, the main course carried the unmistakable impression of mass production rather than the considered quality one expects at this price point.

Service, too, appeared diminished. Incorrect drinks were delivered, special requests were overlooked, and attention to detail seemed absent. Small details matter in hospitality; visible chipped nail varnish on a server may seem minor, but it reflects a broader lack of polish in what purports to be an upmarket establishment.

Most disappointing of all is that we have previously recommended Boisdale to numerous clients following our earlier visit. This recent experience leaves us unable to continue doing so with confidence. Standards appear to have slipped, and until addressed, it is difficult to justify the cost or the reputation.

A great venue can recover, but only if it listens.

Rip off

Have been going to Boisdale Canary Wharf for several years on and off normally to celebrate birthdays. Our party (11) booked the Sunday roast lunch with music which was £59per head. On arrival we were shocked to see how many tables were packed in so close to each other, we have not experienced this on previous visits. Service was slow and erratic. One of our friends ordered a pre dinner glass of champagne which arrived but was immediately dropped and the glass bounced off one person's shoulder and went all over her silk blouse and into her handbag! It was not the waiting staffs fault, it was because they were having trouble squeezing between tables to serve people. We finally got our food, all roasts, but was charged exorbitant extra prices for vegetables, Yorkshire puddings and a measly portion of bread. Surely these things should included.
This wasn't the last of our bad experience! A waitress came to clear some things from the table and she dropped a small dish of oily garlic tapenade on the same lady who had been soaked in champagne! To add insult to injury we were told that we couldn't have coffee at the end of our meal as it was too late?
We brought all of this to the attention of the manager, we reiterated that it wasn't the waiting staffs fault. He blamed Head Office!
We will not be frequenting Boisdale again.

Boisdale - Avoid this venue

Avoid this venue - I feel I was mis sold an experience at high cost. This was a shared feeling experienced by others in the audience. I would recommend Boisdale reviews the standard tickets flooring allocations as you will need binoculars to see the stage: I’d paid £35 each for 5 people to see a band that could only be seen on a monitor screen at the very back of the large room - that is completely outrageous by any standard.

I booked a standard table for 5 online and we were allocated 2 small tables pulled together with 4 chairs right at the back of the hall by the entrance. When I raised concerns with the manager he was defensive and was more concerned with justifying the situation with his tablet. I got the impression this was a regular complaint.

We were told one of the benefits of being at the back of the room was that we could dance although there was a clear notice on the table saying that standing was discouraged. I felt patronised.

The view was obscured by people and waiters walking through tables and there were nearly 2 accidents as people tripped on rugs displaced by chairs. Health and safety came to mind as large trays of hot food was being transported.

The supplementary screens were small and placed directly above other people who clearly felt stared at by the audience.

We waited nearly 30 mins for ordered drinks and needed to remind staff. Eating the overpriced food was challenging given the table arrangement.

I was so sad/angry that a long awaited expensive family outing was such a disappointment and when I followed up to request it took over 2 weeks to get a respond which declined this.

A lovely evening

A lovely evening. The food was great but what made it so lovely was the staff. Our waitress was so tentative and pleasant. The manager was so helpful and cheerful when we made requests. So, thank you.

NEAR DEATH EXPERIENCE WITH ABSOLUTELY NO COMPENSATION

Absolutely shocking - we purchased a premium package (show plus 3 course meal) for our parents Christmas present, we spent £250 on this as we wanted to do something really special for them… we booked the Stevie wonder show but just before the 1st half finished a massive fight broke out - it was like something from a horror film, glasses being thrown in innocent people’s faces, blood everywhere… needless to say my parents were absolutely terrified having had a glass narrowly miss my fathers face… anyway the show was aborted and everyone had to leave before the 2nd half. Now, out of pure compassion and respect for the innocent people who got caught up in this, I would have expected a blanket apology the next day and offer to return free of charge. Not only was there zero communication, we have been chasing for weeks to get a refund. The best that we were offered was another show and a glass of champagne. £250 down the drain and the memory in which we gave our parents was a lifetime nightmare…. We are so so upset with how this has turned out. They are a money grabbing establishment, with zero customer service and zero care for their customers. This could have ended way worse for our parents and I genuinely don’t think it would have made a difference to the outcome. My partner and I were fans of Boisdales and have been a few times but will NEVER RETURN and neither should you! Spend your money elsewhere….

Heatwave at Boisdale

We visited Boisdale Canary Wharf last night( Feb26) Our first time and was more than pleasantly surprised. The quality of the food and service was superb. We had the Chateaubriand which was cooked perfectly. The attentive friendly staff made us feel like nothing was too much trouble and the Rum punch was to die for.
The live music was on point, we will definitely be going back.

Fantastic New Years Eve 2025 Event@…

Fantastic New Years Eve 2025 Event@ Boisdale Canary Wharf and Amazing Service from our Server Mr Avi Sedley!!

First time at this Venue and it did not disappoint!! I booked for my hubby and I pre-purchased VIP dining and entertainment tickets and we had a wonderful time from beginning to end.
I’m a bit confused with some of the bad reviews I have read as this was not my experience.
I called Boisdale’s several times on the 31st Dec before attending with queries and spoke to Katy who was extremely helpful. I then called to change our arrival time and spoke to a lady called Rebecca and she was very helpful and changed my booking from 19.15 pm to 20.00 pm. We then turned up about 20.45 pm due to traffic and not being able to find Cabot Square Parking straightaway and called to advise of this, and again the lady I spoke to was really apologetic that we could not locate the C.S. Parking even though it wasn’t her fault, and assured us our table would be held and the restaurant advised that we were still attending.
Nothing was too much when we arrived and all the staff were really pleasant - the restaurant was really busy and all the staff were working hard to serve everyone in a timely manner.
The four course menu was excellent and was beautifully presented. I couldn’t have asked for more.
A special mention of our server: Mr Avi Sedley - he was Amazing!!! He made sure our glasses was topped up and was very attentive. The wine list is extensive at Boisdale’s so I described to Avi the type of wine I liked and he chose my wine for me - and it was exactly what I liked. I was really impressed with Avi.
His customer service was exceptional - not only to our table but to other surrounding diners. Thank you Avi for making us have a memorable New Year’s Eve/ New Year’s Day!!
So all I can say to potential patron diners who have never been to Boisdale’s : don’t look at the bad reviews too much - go and experience Boisdale for yourself - and you will be pleasantly surprised!! 😊
P.s. Definitely coming back again, and as for a previous bad review on the service charge - it is discretionary so you don’t have to pay it if you feel you didn’t get the service - I paid mine and also added another £20 for my server Avi as he was truly exceptional. Money well spent!!!!

Having raved about this venue before it…

Having raved about this venue before it is sadly let down by customer service.
I have a table for 7 booked tomorrow for Rat pack lunch.
Two of the party have a 2 year old, currently suffering from hand foot and mouth. The parents are currently well and have no recent contact with the rest of my party.
As this infection highly contagious we contacted venue . Not covered by insurance as child not covered. We asked could we receive a credit note or vat tab in lieu of 2 not attending out of concern at risk to other diners. No accomodation of any sort. Shocking in terms of damage to brand and poorest customer service encountered in many a year.
Shame as staff at venue on last visit were excellent.

Unethical company with poor customer services

Sorry to say that despite the glittering image the Boisdale tries to put across on their social media, their customer services team do really suck and are in my view both unfair and unethical in their approach. I was too sick to attend an event they had on to see the Real Thing perform at the Canary Wharf Boisdale on 13 November 2025 booked a number of months ahead. I had asked the Reception Manager if my unused ticket could be used as credit to enable me to attend one of the two performances that they have scheduled for the Real Thing in 2026 and they flatly refused. Decent companies with any sense of morality would at least try to assist their customers in these circumstances like major theatre chains that will happily offer an exchange for another performance of the same show on a different day. This company is cheap to the core and is more than happy to exploit any misfortune the ticket holder might have that prevents them from attending an event. They also advertise their tickets on websites like Showfilmfirst.com and CentralTickets.com for a marked down price as they clearly do not sell out on all their shows. Would not trust this company again for any purchase as in my view they are deeply unethical and don’t actually have a proper customer service in place for unsuspecting consumers. Even communication with the customer over the telephone is an inconvenience for the Reception Manager. Will book again to see the amazing Real Thing perform elsewhere but not at the Boisdale. Buyer beware!!

Boisdale at Canary Wharf .
Place is nice , cocktails were made by someone who either has no idea or didn't care about , creating an experience , so that people want to come back . £25 for 2 cocktails .
If you go to the Alchemists in canary wharf you would want to go back .
Lessons to be learned , by who ever is managing the staff . Its a shame , I would struggle to go back . Sorry .

Back at Boisdale Canary Wharf for the second time, on 5th July for a birthday get-together, should have known something would be up, as when originally booked for 9 x people a couple of weeks back incapable of sending me a booking confirmation, however when I booked to add one more person came through fine. I had call 3 x times to get the confirmation as proof of booking.

So we arrived a little bit late due to traffic, however I informed them and they were ok with this as one of my guests already at the table. I thought the service would be flawless as booked the same amount for an Xmas party last same location, we opted for the bottomless wine at an extras £20.00 a pop for 90 mins, the other staff were vacant and basically floating past glassy eyed only the manager when we asked we were topped up. I'm not asking for a constant flow of wine, however, when you have a group of 10 x people and glasses are dry, surely its not rocket science and why call it a bottomless brunch.

So they booked a table for 10, so it's not a small party for the bottomless brunch. In total, we spent over £700 in a couple of hours with extras including paying for beers as the free flowing wine seemed to be corked up a let down to say the least ..

Terrible place to book

Staff are trained to use the word "sadly" a lot when they're not really sad and its their fault that they won't let you book. Dreadful people, hope they go bust.

Boisedale isn't transparent when you…

Boisedale isn't transparent when you make a reservation. I made a booking, well in advance, for a dinner for 4 people, and a day a half before my party and I are supposed to arrive, we're told that our booking isn't confirmed unless we pay for a £200pp pre-set menu because the time of our booking overlaps with a performance. It's fine that they have this kind of pricing, but to wait just before my reservation to tell me that my table is released unless I pay is so disgusting. JUST REQUIRE PAYMENT AT THE TIME OF BOOKING & BE TRANSPARENT ABOUT IT. It's not difficult. Clearly this has been enough of an issue (see other reviews and they're standing on trustpilot), for them to have not created a different system as this point is just gross and predatory.
