An absolutely fantastic experience

An absolutely fantastic experience from start to finish. The food was exceptional and the atmosphere was warm, lively, and perfect for a special celebration.
We visited on 21st March 2026 as a group of 19 to celebrate our auntie’s 60th birthday, and the evening was made truly unforgettable by our waitress, Honey.
Honey was simply outstanding. From the moment we arrived, she was welcoming, attentive, and effortlessly organised despite the size of our group. She managed everything with such professionalism and genuine warmth, making every single guest feel valued and cared for.
Her work ethic, attention to detail, and natural people skills are rare to come by—she went above and beyond all evening without missing a beat. It’s clear she takes real pride in what she does, and it shows. She would be an incredible manager.
Thank you, Honey, for making a special occasion even more memorable. Without a doubt, the best service we’ve ever received.

Our table was booked for 5pm for 6…

Our table was booked for 5pm for 6 people. There was already a party at the table and had paid their bill but didn't seem to want to move.
We waited at the bar for 15 minutes and was eventually taken to a small room with only 2/3 tables which was excellent.
We had an excellent waiter.
When our food arrived it became apparent after a while that my husbands rib eye steak was inedible. It was nothing but fat and grissel. In fact one piece he got in his mouth but couldn't chew it and had to spit it out. Even the steak knife wouldn't cut into it.
The manager came and agreed it didn't look very good and offered to get another meal for him but by this time everyone else had nearly finished their meals so we declined.
I appreciate it was mother's day and it was busy but I do think that a restaurant who specialises in steak could produce something much better.
The manager did refund the meal.

Talke S.O.T Miller & Carter Steak House

We have just had a meal tonight at the Talke M&C... absolutely perfect. The staff were perfect and whoever the chef(s) are well 👌 honestly some of the best tasting food I've had. I have never given any place 10/10 for food and service but both I and my wife said the same.... loved it, highly recommend it at Talke and I will return as soon as I can. 5 Stars.

Warrington branch

Warrington branch. Not the best service. Place was quiet but service very slow. Lattes weren't hot enough as sugar wouldnt even dissolve. Soup was also a bit on the luke warm side. Steaks were nice..
Wouldn't return.

Don’t bother ruined Mother’s Day!

Don’t bother! Booked for Mother’s Day! Told at desk there would be a short wait! Sat down to be told wait for food is 1.5 hours and no Sunday sharers left! Spoke to a couple who had 2 young children they’d waited 2 hours for food! Deposit returned and left!

Terrible Service!

Ordered a takeaway from M & C Warrington on Sunday evening. Arrived on time to be told that it would be another 5 minutes but it was over 20 minutes before my food arrived. Didn’t check the contents (big mistake) mainly because the bag was sealed by 2 labels & staples. Got home to find no lettuce portions, 1 steak overcooked & tiny portions of peppercorn sauce. Called the restaurant but got no answer. Left a voicemail but no call back. Rang back after we finished eating with the same result. Left another VM but again no callback. Used the app to raise a complaint. Got a standard email in response ‘falls short of our usual standards’. Ironically, the food we got was very good, but the service was shockingly bad. It’s not the first bad experience I’ve had at M&C Warrington but it will be the last. Never again!

Always a Brilliant experience

We visit the Scunthorpe restaurant and have done for several years now. Happy to confirm my rewards account is now building nicely, we always receive excellent service from the staff and are always greeted with a smile. I would highly recommend them if you love Steak…

Won't be hurrying back

We have been to M&C several times, this visit to Hereford for my sons birthday lunch was a little disappointing. Drink served with a dirty glass, dirty cutlery on the table. The steaks were served the wrong way round (there were only 3 of us, a medium rare and a medium served to the wrong people). The starters were quite good, no complaints there. At the end of the meal we were left sitting in front of dirty empty plates for about 10 minutes, asked for the bill which we got and paid and then left - the dirty plates still on the table while the suited (presumably manager) ponced about next to us trying to look important - clearly too important to clear a table. Nobody asked if everything was OK. I got a nub-end of the onion loaf so not a controlled or full portion. The question is - if that is the attention to detail out front - what goes on out the back? For the prices charged I would expect it to be good, I would give it a generous "medoicre" at best

You really can't charge the prices you do and add supplements for certain items when the standard is no better than alot of pub chains .
A real waste of money . Service was very very slow . Food was very basic. Really disappointed and it cost double what you pay elsewhere

Disappointing

Very disappointed the service was so bad it was embarrassing.
The waitresses were passive aggressive. After waiting for our second round of drinks for at least 30 minutes we were told the order hadn’t gone through to the bar correctly . When the drinks finally arrived the coffee was cold. Four of my guests really enjoyed the food, however the two that ordered the burgers found them too salty to eat. The desserts didn’t have a wow factor. While eating desserts. Approximately 8:45pm the staff were closing down the area around us. One actually wearing her coat while walking behind us with a large bag of rubbish. This was supposed to be a special treat but it turned out to be an expensive mistake.

Poor experience!

Poor experience!!
The food and service were ok, but I had a fall in the restaurant when a member of staff had left a wet floor sign laid flat on the floor, which I stood on and ended up in a heap on the floor. I reported it to management and also online, they replied but are now totally ignoring any email I send regarding an update. Poor management and bad experience.

Really disappointing Valentine’s…

Really disappointing Valentine’s experience at Miller & Carter Bagshot!

We pre-booked and prepaid in advance for Valentine’s Day, expecting things to be organised. When we arrived at our confirmed booking time, we were told we would still have to wait around 45 minutes for a table.

There was no apology, no explanation, and no attempt to offer anything to make up for the delay — which on an occasion like Valentine’s Day is pretty poor. If you’re taking advance bookings and payments for a special event, you should be able to manage your timings properly.

What made it worse was the complete lack of acknowledgment or customer care. I also emailed afterwards to raise this and haven’t received a response.

For a restaurant that positions itself as premium, this fell far below expectations. Sadly won’t be returning.

Shout out to Robert at Dartford branch!

Always loved Miller and Carter but this experience stood out from the rest. Robert at the Dartford restaurant made our experience 10 times better. The most friendly, funny and refreshing personality and we couldn’t have asked for a better server. He really was cracking the jokes as well as giving us honest suggestions. Rob you made our night and it was a memorable evening so thank you! We don’t even live near but I’d go back to Dartford branch just for Rob!

visited Miller & Carter for a birthday…

visited Miller & Carter for a birthday meal with my two daughters (15 and 17) and the experience was extremely upsetting from start to finish.
From the moment we walked in, there was an issue. We were ignored at the entrance and had to find a member of staff ourselves. We were seated at a table right at the front with little care or welcome, and staff repeatedly walked past us without acknowledgment. We were the only family of colour in the restaurant at the time, and the atmosphere made us feel unwelcome from the outset.
Before the drinks had even been brought to the table, I could see the waitress and the manager, Aaron, whispering and speaking about us, which made us feel uncomfortable and singled out.
I ordered a Coke for my 15-year-old and cocktails for myself and my 17-year-old. I understand that venues are entitled to enforce their own alcohol policies. However, the situation was handled very poorly.
After bringing the drinks, Aaron returned and leaned over our table arguing about UK licensing law. I explained my understanding of the law. He told me that my understanding was incorrect and stated that he was a lawyer. I found this surprising, but regardless of that claim, I asked him politely to show me the company policy he was referring to. He refused.
When I said that was fine and that I would keep the alcoholic drink myself and order my daughter a Coke instead, he continued to argue rather than resolving the matter calmly. He then stated that if he saw us drinking he would have us removed from the restaurant.
This felt confrontational and intimidating, particularly during what was meant to be a birthday celebration.
If there is a strict under-18 alcohol policy, that is entirely within the restaurant’s rights. But it should be communicated respectfully and professionally. Instead, the approach taken by the manager escalated the situation unnecessarily and left us feeling embarrassed and uncomfortable.
This was meant to be a special family occasion. Sadly, it turned into a very unpleasant experience.

Good but could be better.

Ipswich restaurant. Our first time and an enjoyable meal. Great selection of steaks on the menu with enough choice for anyone. A pleasant ambience only let down by the totally unnecessary piped pop music. Steaks tasty, a little overcooked though still good and tasty - but amount of juices flowing suggests they needed to be rested longer.
