We were told via email we would be informed of our delivery to our Cottage in Conway. Our next contact with BMD was a phone call from the driver who was at the Cottage in Wales.We were in Warrington!
We rearranged the delivery with the driver for the following morning and met him at the Cottage. He opened the vehicle and revealed a broken pallet of the wrong product (OSB3 Boards instead of the plywood boards we ordered) which had slid about causing damage to the boards. The Driver and myself had to carry the 2440x600x18 boards about 100m to the Cottage as the fork lift truck was too large to cross over an access bridge. The vehicle was unable to turn round and had to be reversed about half a Mile back to a turning point causing damage to Oak trees along the way that have Preservation orders on them. This was carried out with my assistance.
However the Driver did his best!

I’ve checked our email system and spoken to Kevin, who you have been in contact with by phone/email regarding this issue.
We appreciate our delivery driver tried to deliver earlier than planned due to him been in the local area sooner than expected.
Unfortunately a picking error meant the incorrect product was loaded. We also note the load was not secured properly, this will be taken up with the delivery driver and warehouse.
I believe images were taken of this, if you could forward these to Kevin and details of any other damages we can then look at getting these refunded for you.
Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience caused by our poor performance on this occasion. We hope this has not put you off from shopping with us, and we hope to see you back again soon.

Products (plasterboard and insulation board) well priced and good communication for delivery. Didn't have plasterboard ordered but it was replaced with equivalent. Would order again.

It would be great if, like most companies, BMD send a message telling you the day they intend to deliver giving you min 24hours notice and then an approx time - 2 hours notice. I did receive an email and message at 1830 the previous day, advising that the product was on its way and I would be given 24/48 hours notice. When I called that morning, I was told they were on the drop off before ours- we were 70 mins away!! I am sure when driver is given the 2 day route , someone could advise the customer. My first time using this company & would like to use again but this may stop me if need products quickly. I also asked on the online chat about a couple of packs of jablite to return as wanted clarifcation for our customer but after the 2nd attemp with no reply , I gave up and now too late to return. Cusomer communication needs improving.

Before I ordered I phoned for some advice, very good customer service, placed my order online and received it when I was advised it would arrive. There were a couple of pieces missing from my order, a quick phone call and I was assured that the missing items would be delivered in two days time and good to their word they arrived two days later. I found this company pleasant to deal with, all materials were of high quality and the prices were very competitive. I would recommend Builders Merchant Direct 100%, thank you.
