We had an Acorn Chairlift installed 5 years ago. The salesman was great and installation went very well. We have had no problems and it works excellently.
The only problem we have is customer service. I have been trying to get a callback for two months trying to get information for removal and reinstalling the chairlift for new carpeting. I have left numerous messages with no response. This has been very frustrating.

The stair lift is working well and helps my husband function easily! The installer AJ, made the expert installation perfect. What a delightful experience he was. A man who was truly caring, polite, and personable. Thank you for having him on your staff. As a senior, he was refreshing, to say the least, and professional!

The salesman surveyed the home, and assist that part of the stairwell is not accessible for the chairlift. He spec out modifications that had to be made, as well as the door swing to the area. As soon as the modifications were completed, I notified Acorn and within a few days the installer came out. He was neat, clean, fast and efficient. He obviously knew what he was doing. When he finished his work, he explained everything to us demonstrated, and did not leave until he was confident that we knew the total operation of the chairlift. He explained the codes went through the manual And explained the warranty to us. We are happy we chose Acorn.

Gordon E. Was my installer. Did a thorough job installing and explaining usuage of. Chairlift. Very pleased with outcome and service. Acorn is responsive when called and handles any problems quickly.

Terrible customer service
When we were in the market for a stairlift the salesman was amazingly helpful and got the stairlift installed quickly. The installer was professional and didn’t leave until we were confident in its safe use. The got a call to schedule the free first year maintenance visit. That should have been in November/December. When I declined the continued warranty/maintenance plan (because I knew my husband would be passing with the year) the whole customer service relationship changed. They cancelled my maintenance visit twice. It was finally serviced in February. The maintenance person was very professional and found the chair in perfect working order. My husband passed the following month.
Acorn has ignored four calls about their “Buyback Scheme”. I have tried other companies and have been told by them that they no longer buy used Acorn products because Acorn will not sell their parts to outside companies. So, I have a <2 year old curved stairlift that cost $11000.00 and is in perfect condition and noway to get it to a person in need.

No more struggling up and down stairs

Very happy with new stairlift installed today. Surveyor Leslie Johnstone and installer Luke Gorringe were very competent and helpful.

Worst money we ever spent! This "stairlift" was a total piece of cr*p!! Buy a Bruno stairlift if you want something reliable, safe, and secure. We have a folder 1" thick of repair visits over the course of only 2 years. Junk. Just junk.

My stairlift stopped working. I called customer service that morning and they said they would get back to me asap with a date from a repair person. I paid $495,00 for a warranty policy and was told I would get expedited service in case of a breakdown. No one called be back and so at 4:30 that afternoon I called again and was told I was scheduled for Sept 9 between 12 and 5 p.m. This means I will be without my stairlift for 12 days. This is certainly not expedited in my opinion. I wrote a negative review and was contacted within three days
A tech came to my house and repaired the unit that very day. I was very satisfied with that response. I just wish my first contact was the same.

The consultant and the installer were both very professional and helpful. I’m very happy with my experience with the chairlift. My only problem is that it was so expensive.

Great job! Very thorough! They got the lift put in for two stairs cases on same day and well explained.

It’s given me freedom to go to my upstairs rooms that I’ve not been able to do in forever.

It is smaller than expected as compared to my previous Hammsr stairlift

Fast installation, very professional staff.

Installation was fast and well done. One thing I don't agree with is placing the power cord and transformer directly on the wall next to the floor. It should be higher to be able to clean the dirt off of floors. The new starlight chairs air not comfortable. The back has a plastic rim which digs into the back of the, not like old ones which were shaped more comfortable.

Martisha Hart my Relocations Agent at Acorn was so very helpful, guided me through every step, got on the phone with me beyond our back and forth emails, was so very sweet, nice and kind, and the process so seamless to get my parents this stairlift installed that they so very much need.

From customer service to quote and installation, the Acorn team was professional and knowledgeable. Always willing to answer my questions and explained everything clearly. The installer, Jacob R., did an excellent job and was very pleasant to work with. I am very pleased with my purchase.

From the sales to installation, the experience was very professional. The salesperson was thorough in his explanation of the options and costs. The installer was meticulous. The system works as described and is esthetically pleasing.

As promised. Helps my husband have more freedom.

Gordon did a great job installing our Acorn Stairlifts, both inside and outside. Both jobs required difficult calibrations for turns to accommodate our stairways - a total of 4 flights. He worked steadily, maintaining constant good humor. When finished, he explained how to use it and made sure we could demonstrate the ride. We give Gordon the highest possible rating.

The Acorn Stairlift now allows me to move between our home's first and second floors without any risk of falling. The installation of the stairlift was conducted by a friendly and competent installer from Acorn. He did a very good job of installing the unit and training me on its use. It took 7 weeks after I ordered the stairlift before it could be installed. It was promised in 3-4 weeks. I am disappointed in several issues of the chairlift operation. When moving through some sections, the ride is a bit rough with some bumps and snaps. It's movement is not uniformly smooth from bottom to top. Additionally, the chair is rather uncomfortable with the entire top edge pushing into my back. Overall, the Acorn Stairlift is able to successfully transport me up and down the stairs in my home.
