Jon’s an excellent tutor. He has a knack for working out where you’re struggling and helping you work through it.

He inspired my love of language and supported me through my A-levels and we’ve stayed in touch.

If you have a great teacher, who is kind, affable, knowledgeable, and of course helpful, then you are a lucky person. So is John! He has all these qualities and a good option to learn about English language and literature. I was getting stuck often in descriptive writing. I contacted him and he helped me a lot regarding this. He knows how to conduct lessons and make the learner pick up ideas quickly. I liked his methodology, how he first involved the learner, he made me write down the answers to the questions. He would also provide me with very useful and specific subject terminology. This is what helped me achieve high marks in English literature and language. As well as giving ideas, John taught more vocabulary, and some natural expressions for a better description. The best thing which I learned through his lessons was DAFOREST which helped me with descriptive writing in Language Paper 1 and 2. His lessons were so creative and useful.

Jonathan is very friendly and very approachable. He helped my son with GCSE Maths and English achieving grades 5 and 6. We would highly recommend Jonathan. Currently Jonathan is tutoring my daughter in year 6 for 11plus entrance exam and stats, and my son in year 5.

Jon was absolutely amazing!!! Our son has just achieved grades 5 and 6 in his GCSE English exams. This was going from a grade 3 in his mock exams and it was too low to get him into college. We decided to get an English tutor and asked Jon to help. He was brilliant, really engaging and professional. My son really liked his time with and the brilliant grades show how well Jon explains things and gets things to sink in! We couldn’t be happier with the help and support my daughter received, our main focus was GCSE maths which she was failing but also she had help with English Literature, she achieved a very respectable grade for her maths which meant she could continue on to her sixth form college of choice, she got her A level results today and got an A for English Literature, she is now off to uni. Jon is an excellent tutor . Jon had tutored my daughter for her GCSE English language and literature papers. My daughter is more science and Maths oriented . We realized the skills required to crack an English paper are so different to that of Science and Maths. Jon really helped my daughter with the techniques and styles of writing and has prepared her so well for her GCSE exams this year. My daughter has had her English grades significantly improve in her mock exams and has definitely soared higher in her confidence levels too. Thanks to Jon!

We found Jon was suited to teach Ryan English because of his relaxed and friendly manor. He really helped to build Ryans confidence and understanding of the subject.
Ryan has completed his first paper in English and we he was more confident going into the exam due to Jon's lessons.

James has been online for just a few months but started to show confidence in his maths from the first lesson, something that I have been struggling to do for ages! We have used Jon and 9Tutors for a number of years now and it’s been fantastic. Jon first tutored our daughter to boost her English GCSE grade, as she wanted to start the higher course at college, with the hope of progressing onto university. I’m pleased to say she achieved her higher grade in English with Jons help and is now studying Paramedic Science at Worcester University. Jon now tutors our son in both English and Maths. The results have been great and we will continue, building up to his GCSE exams next year. It can be tricky getting teenagers to get motivated with study at the best of times, but our son enjoys his sessions with Jon, who puts him at ease, whilst encouraging him to push himself. Jon was my daughter's tutor and helped her get a place in a new school. He is a good tutor who helped us to prepare the English entrance exam paper.
