Following some difficulty in making a booking direct with the hotel, we enjoyed an adequate afternoon tea, with good choice of sandwiches and ( too many ! ) cakes. The dining room tables were immaculately set, and waiter service was adequate.
The hotel is well maintained, and has several acres of well-kept grounds, including ponds, so the meal was well-digested by a good walk in good weather. Altogether a pleasing experience.

Good relationship for a number of years, with all staff polite and helpful. Might have been a 5 star rating, but for a records mix-up regarding a cash payment, and the difficulty in assessing " value-for-money ", resulting from lawn deterioration, largely due to the weird weather we experience these days.
