Windows 7 unsupported

Been with Nord many years using windows 7 because I run some old programming software that won't update to newer windows. No support now for my system and have started having problems like trust certficate errors and freezing. Tried reinstall but no joy. Don't see why I should pay full price for something that's not supported now. When my subs runs out will look elsewhere was good up to now.

House insurance up for renewal

House insurance up for renewal. Last year price £280 this year £630, Online website quote over £800. Nothing changed from last year (except I hit 70). Never claimed ever over 30 years from any company . Went on compare site cheapest sky £178 but took out with Tesco £275 (better reviews) includes unlimited property value. Saga tried this last year ( wanted £600 plus) but online compare site Saga came back at £280 last year so renewed but not this year.

Home insurance +25% increase why?

Home insurance up for renewal. Never claimed, nothing changed from last year £240 this year £315 = +25% increase. Use compare sites renewed Saga £260 same cover as LV. Try again next year.

Car Insurance 50% Jump no explanation given

Just had my car insurance renewal. Increased by 50%. Nothing changed over the year, full NCD, no accidents etc. Contacted by chat. No reason for increase given when asked but did reduce it down a bit to a 20% increase. Told renewal online documents would reflect this but not happened yet. AA is looking good via Quidco.

follow up
Contacted Saga via Phone reduced it down so now only 15% increase. Still sidestepped explanation why it increased so much.

Large piece of 2mm Acrylic spot on

Ordered a piece of 2mm Acrylic 1250 mm square for repair. Arrived very promptly, spot on size and well wrapped in cardboard, bubble wrap corner and edge protectors. Can't fault excellent response.

Car Premium renewal agreed.

Car Insurance renewal came in today for April and I thought the increased premium was excessive. Rang today spoke to a lady called Channing who was very helpful and after a few minutes discussion came up with a price that I thought was reasonable compared to last year’s premium so I stay with Saga. Thank you Channing

Parcel stuck/lost at local depot

Parcel arrived at local depot on the 15th December nine days later it is still there.No way to contact Hermes online chat is a computer. Contacted supplier and he ask Hermes to search which they said get back within 48hrs but heard nothing. Supplier sent a replacement by Royal Mail came next day. Merry Xmas.

My Meter rolled over in August the Next bill was double due to calculation error

My Meter rolled over in August from 999999 to 000000. Symbio calculated the meter read correctly approx £130 and It was paid by Direct Debit. In September my bill was double @£260 . When I checked why it was because their bill (software fault ??) did not take account of the August read so I received a double bill(Aug & Sept). I raised the issue and was ignored so I stopped my DD. I joined Symbio in April so I use my opening meter read from April and my final read (EON Next) to calculate my total Kwh and number of days for standing charge. After conciliation with my Direct Debit payments I worked out I was owed £29 yet my final bill is over £100 debit. I have sent the calculation, pointed out the error on the bill asking them to check the calculation and just get fobbed off telling me to take my final meter read up with EON Next (all the meter read are correct it is calculation error that rolls over each month) I have sent copies to Azets liquidator and all ignored. So we wait for court action. But if your meter as rolled over with Symbio then I would check you haven't been billed double the month after. I believe I am being ignored because of other people that could have been affected by bad calcs. I would recommend that if you bill seems wrong to check it yourself from your meter reads. If you had a smart meter fitted that would produce the same error as a roll over and could charge you double the month after.

Special offer but "no Stock" till the offers over

Wanted to buy a Makita 18V 1.5Ah Li-ion Cordless Combi drill & impact driver DK18015X2 in their Black Friday sale for £115. Checked 30th November non in stock locally about 80 miles nearest. Sale finished on 1st December price backup to £150 checked stock three local stores in stock with one having 11 sets. What a rip off black Friday sale we drop the price and hide the stock so we don't sell any but it makes us look good. Rubbish

Another wasted morning and another one tomorrow

10.33 am email arrived saying going to attempt to deliver between 9.00 am -1.00 pm today . That 90 minutes after delivery slot starts. 45 mins later at 11.15 am another email saying parcel as been delivered. No attempt was made no doorbell rung no knock nothing. Two minutes later an email saying there was no one in to except delivery ??. Final tracking says "Your courier has had an issue with getting to the delivery address." another wasted morning and another one tomorrow. Bet they wouldn't like it if they had to pay me by the hour for the time i wasted waiting in.

Driver never tried to deliver waited in four hours

Waited in four hours then message said 'tried to deliver but not in'. We have a gated drive with a online bell push and video which is logged No attempt was made, tested bell six minutes after alleged attempt working fine even down to the spiders web over the bell push which had not been damaged. No contact numbers provided all go to automated services saying tried to deliver, once you enter the ref code. No card left. This is the second time this has happened. Rumour as it that if the drivers are getting behind with their deliveries then they do this to catch up. Person delivered next day said she is helping out because the normal driver has two many packages at the moment. Says it all. Emailed Hermes to complain -no reply. In future will not order if the carrier is Hermes will pay extra if need be. Suggest others do the same until they get the message. Note other reviews similar.
