Extremely Disappointing Experience & Poor Customer Care
I had a deeply disappointing experience flying with Qatar Airways from London to Doha on 17th June and 3 other journeys within the space of 2 weeks. For an airline that claims to be “
'the world’s best' the basic standards of onboard service and customer care were shockingly poor.
Firstly, the beverages served on board (specifically the orange and apple juice) were not juice. They were artificial sugary beverages —
not juice. They were so excessively sweet and artificial they were undrinkable. This is far below what you'd expect from any standard airline, let alone one that is supposed to be top-rated.
Secondly, the USB charging port at my seat and others next to me were practically useless. On a 7-hour flight, and other subsequent flights, my phone charged less than 10% despite being plugged in for the full duration of the flight. These charging facilities are important on long-haul journeys, and the failure to provide functioning outlets shows a serious lack of attention to passenger needs.
I raised a formal complaint to Qatar Airways and made it very clear that these issues weren’t feedback but failures that needed to be properly investigated and responded to. What I received in return was a series of generic, dismissive replies, repeatedly stating my comments were "noted" and forwarded to the relevant team with no apology, no explanation, no investigation.
Even after I followed up and requested for a proper response to the complaint, the airline still did nothing. There was no sense of accountability at any stage.
It’s clear that Qatar Airways treats legitimate customer complaints with indifference and prefers to issue templated responses rather than take ownership of failures. This experience has severely damaged my trust in their brand, and I will rethink flying with them in the future and fly with a different airline next time.
