Avoid at all costs!

They are very nasty to deal with for student rentals. You have to pay for the full 12 months of rent but they do not give you the property for the full 12 months, they short change you by up to a week. On checking in there was clearly mould on the shower tray sealant, the photos showed it, but they still tried to deduct from the deposit when vacating the property. The mould issues were reported within the first few weeks of moving in as there are no windows and the fan is very weak, however they did nothing. They also tried to falsly deduct other items from the deposit without even providing me a copy of the checkout report to review and sign. First I saw of it was during the dispute, with photos that did not seem like they were taken from my tenancy. If you can avoid this nasty company and look elsewhere, you will potentially save a lot of stress.

Total waste of time

Total waste of time. I left my car with the Watford branch for an MOT, when I returned to collect it, they told me it had failed as the handbreak needed adjusting. They wanted me to book it in again ( next slot was 3 days later) and charge me £50 for a 3 minute job. My car was off the road for 3 days due to them trying to make an extra £50 for a tiny adjustment, which other garages would fix right away and pass the MOT rather than cause such a headache!

Very poor quality and customer service!

Will never buy from them again!.. I spent over £3.5k on a premium dining set. It took months for the dining chairs to arrive. When they did arrive, several chairs came damaged, one was ripped! It then took several weeks for replacements to arrive, which were also damaged! I raised this again with Furniture Village and was told that they will check with the suppliers as to what they can do to compensate.. no call back received.. the responsibility should be with the retailers, I bought from them!.. 10 months since order and no resolution/compensation. Pathetic company!

In response to Furniture Village's reply, I entered the order number when I wrote this review, therefore you should already have it. Furthermore, you ask for details via email but did not provide an email address.

Now a happy customer

Initially had issues with drifting delivery dates and lack of information. I posted a review on here to air my frustration, and was then contacted by Alex. Alex provided excellent customer service throughout, was able to resolve all of my issues and went the extra mile to settle the issue amicably. Thank you Alex.

Delivery estimates don't mean a thing!

Ordered my furniture back in the beginning of April. Estimated delivery date was 29th May. Now the tracker is showing estimated 29th June. Why am I not surprised that the dates have started to drift?! I wish I had read the reviews before ordering. The website says that they can offer 70% of the payment back until delivery of the stock is ready to be booked. I called them and was told that this is no longer available. They have my money, and are unable to fulfill their end of the deal. Shambolic company!

Response to Whitestores: I have provided my order number. I'd like to have an 'honest' answer as to when my furniture will be delivered.

Update 11/06/22: Tracker now showing expected delivery date of 14 July! And with regard to the comment from Whitestores, no phone call was received...

They make trivial mistakes

Used them for a remortgage (appointed by the bank). I was shocked at the mistake they made. Instead of putting my wife's name on the mortgage deed, they put my 11 year old son's name! I don't even know how they got hold of his name (surely not following GDPR guidlines if looking up unneccssary info like that). When I pointed it out through the messaging portal, I didn't even get an appology or an explanation for the ridiculous mistake. They totally ignored some of my other questions too. Luckily the remortgage did complete on time but my confidence in this firm was not very high.

The process was very straight forward…

The process was very straight forward from start to end. I double checked to ensure that the car would come with the SatNav SD card, and it was indeed delivered with the car. Delivery driver, Mitchell, was polite and patient while I checked the vehicle. The car is in great condition, I will know more after driving it for a few days.

Worst property management company

Worst property management company I have dealt with! They keep demanding more and more money, and when asked to explain what for they just say 'it is to cover arrears', even though my account is all paid and up to date!

Hi Kerai,

Upon review of your service charge account, I note that you are referring to a year end balancing adjustment that was raised following the completion of the service charge accounts.

Most leases contain a provision for the Landlord/Management Company to raise anticipated service charge demands in advance of the year end to meet the expected expenditure to be incurred during the financial year of the development. Where a service charge is payable before the relevant costs are incurred, it must be a reasonable amount.

Managing Agents are to produce year end accounts and service charge certificates after the financial year end. Leaseholders have a legal obligation to contribute to their allocated proportion of actual costs incurred.

The service charge certificate will detail the total payable by the leaseholder as well as the total anticipated service charges demanded during the related financial year. Should the proportion of actual costs incurred be greater than the total of the anticipated demands (a deficit), the leaseholder will be required to make payment of the balance. However, should the proportion of actual costs incurred be lower than the total of anticipated demands (a surplus), a credit will be made to the leaseholders account to be offset against future demands.

Scammers

Scammers! They are quick to sell you crypto, but make it extremely difficult to get your money out again. They disable buying/selling as they please (market manipulation!), and they even caused massive disruption to the crypto market when they introduced BCH (inside job!). Stay away from these scammers!
