Purchase of Peugeot 2008

I recently purchased a Peugeot 2008 from W R Davies in Prestatyn, I spoke with Jakub a credit to the Company, he guided me with my vehicle choices, answered all my questions, explained all options to buy and was available from start to finish. I would highly recommend W R Davies, Prestatyn, perfect 👌

What a dreadful experience.

I never leave negative reviews unless I think it’s absolutely necessary.

I booked my Wildtrak in for it’s yearly service & MOT in January after WR Davies pestered me via Text, the date it was booked in for was 25th February 2026 so they had 2 months to ensure they had a hire car available for me to use.

I travel 30 miles to get there and have no one to pick me up so I have to book a car with them, I got there at the time they gave 8.30am only to be told there was NO hire car available! Apparently they rang at 8am to tell me…however NOT one missed call on my mobile.

So not only do I have a farm of animals to tend before setting off, but I also run a business, so lots of things to juggle to ensure I get there for 8.30am, I stupidly rebooked for the following week (my fault should of taken it to chester Ford instead)

I then arrive at 8.30 yesterday 4th March, I can not find a single place to park, so end up just leaving it amongst the new cars, I then stand in a queue of 3 people including a dog which a staff member makes a big fuss of, while the other staff mill around doing absolutely Nothing for 20minutes!!

Eventually the only girl on the desk physically goes to ask for help, finally they take my keys and I can escape.

I get a call at 4.30pm to say can I keep the hire car overnight as they can’t complete the MOT due to a problem with equipment, however when I say no I need to pick up bedding (it’s a work vehicle I need it back) magically while I am on the phone they CAN complete the MOT??!!

I pick up the Wildtrak at 5.30pm it hasn’t been cleaned which they usually do every year, but whatever, no staff in sight just the manager who apologises for all the inconvenience blah blah blah, sorry we haven’t cleaned it just pop in for a free clean when passing, blah blah blah, oh and you need to check your tyres etc, when checking paperwork it says Nails in tyre ! So it’s booked in with DMH for new tyres.

Anyway, he gives me a discount, I don’t want a discount, I am not short of money, I am short of time and WR Davies are so Arrogant that they think giving you a few bob off your bill makes up for all their incompetence & wasting of peoples precious time.

I am now going to book my wildtrak in with Evan Halshaw to ensure my service and MOT have been done properly, I will NEVER EVER go to WR DAVIES again, they are an absolute disgrace and beyond unprofessional

I told the “Manager” in person that I was mad & very unhappy with their service and that I would never return.

Avoid at all costs!!!

The most disorganised and incompetent garage I’ve ever dealt with.

They booked our Qashqai in to have the multi media screen replaced as after just two years it was delaminating - so treated as a manufacturing fault and it had to be carried out here as it’s our nearest Nissan dealer.

The garage is a 74 mile round trip from home so I had to take half a day off work.

They made the booking for a specific day and specific time. I turned up on time (early) and handed over the keys and they told me it would be a quick job and to come back in an hour or they’d call me if any earlier. I went for a walk in the pouring rain…in Rhyl…

I returned just over an hour later and was abruptly told the job hadn’t been done as the part was not in and had never been and I’d have to come back another time.

An outstanding, five star experience at W R Davies Prestatyn.

I recently took my car to W R Davies Citroën in Prestatyn for a full service and MOT, and I was thoroughly impressed from start to finish. The team provided a professional, friendly, and efficient service, and the overall cost offered excellent value for money.

What stood out most was the detailed report I received afterwards, clearly outlining all work completed along with any advisories. This level of transparency and care is something that many service providers sadly no longer offer, and it made a real difference.

I’d especially like to recognise Kirsty from Customer Services, who was exceptional throughout. She kept me updated regularly on the progress of my vehicle, and her knowledge, helpfulness, and professionalism were truly first-class. She is a credit to the company and a perfect ambassador for the W R Davies team.

Thank you for the brilliant service. I’ll certainly be using W R Davies Prestatyn for all my car needs in the future.

Very poor after sales

There is a reason why they only give 1 month’s warranty, make sure you have somebody independent give the car a health check. They try to get you to buy an extra 12 months for £360, which I have done but now have been told that they can’t fit me in for four weeks. Not happy.

RUBBISH - Nightmare Navara!

My Nissan Navara has been back and forth to WR Davies in Rhyl on a number of occasions. In March of this year it went in for repairs, and ended up at the garage for 3 weeks - with little to no communication from the garage. In September, I heard a whistling noise coming from the engine bay, and popped into my local independent just to have a look to see what it was, they reported that the engine had been badly put back together, with bolts missing, heat shields not attached, wiring loose and evidence of leakage due to soot buildup in the engine bay. I took it back to Rhyl and they agreed that the EGR pipe had been poorly installed and was leaking. They repaired this, however, shortly after another engine warning light came on the dash, and using a small scanner that I have, it was EGR flow rate, and thermoplunger issues. They repaired the thermoplungers, but said nothing of the EGR flow rate, as I drove off the garage, my truck was lumpy and hesitant, I went back around and spoke to an engineer who said it was just cold, and to come back if the EML came back on. This week now, the oil dilution error has returned, and to make matters worse, we've a family holiday booked in for the 27th, I was promised a call from their service manager this morning, he didn't call, I rang this morning to be told he'd call back in about 10 minutes - he never did. I chased again this afternoon to be told he'd call me back shortly. He hasn't rang me.

So I'm now stuck with a truck that won't accelerate, and a family holiday that I'm likely going to need to hire a car to go to.

I have just submitted an official complaint to Nissan in the UK, and will be taking my truck to a different Nissan garage in the hope that they can fix what Rhyl obviously can't fix.

Great s service once again

The friendlinessn efficiency and knowledge of the various models. Esoecially Steve and Gary I was looking to change our car and had disscarded the Renault 5 because of some preconceieved ideas I had about the car. The car suited me in all other aspects and both Steve and Gary were able to assure me that my thoughts were unfounded.To say the least the car is fantastiic. and well suited to our needs.

Outstanding Dacia service care.

W R Davies have serviced my Dacia Sandero Stepway from new. It has now done 102,000 miles with no trouble. Lewis on the Dacia service desk is outstanding, always professional, pleasant and goes out of his way to be helpful. This is true of the staff in the workshop too who work to perfection and give common sense advice. You are in very good hands with W R Davies Llandudno Junction.

Outstanding car dealership

My sister and I visited this showroom on October 9th. We were greeted by Jakub on arrival. I explained we were looking to get my sister her first motability car. I was offered a test drive which I declined as it was more important to us that my sister could enter and exit with ease. So she spent a bit of time getting in and out. We picked a model and Jakub processed everything in a timely efficient manner. I am so grateful that he made the process so easy for us. Two hours after we left the showroom the car had arrived. A week later we were due to collect. Slight hiccup with the DVLA SYSTEM being down but collected the car the following day. The best part for me was Jakub shaking Carol's hand as well as my own. Carol's best part was picking the make and model and also the colour of her new car. Outstanding service throughout. Thank you.

Pinching customers property

Where do I start with these ??? I purchased a Nissan navara 2nd hand from a private owner the reason I choose it was it had a new engine fitting just under 2 months ago and new clutch so after about six weeks it broke down and as WR DAVIES did the work on it I took it back to them as they know the vehicle I took it back a total of 4 times as they wasn’t doing what they were meant to I found this out because instead of doing the work under the warranty they were just clearing the faults and giving it me back at one stage they said then needed it for 2/3 days and would give me a courtesy vehicle which wasn’t a problem I then get a call from them on the afternoon saying the vehicle was ready for collection after about 4 hours so it went from 3/4 days to 4 hours I’m confused???? I didn’t collect the vehicle till after the weekend because it’s not like I live round the corner from there think it’s about 50 miles so I returned the truck but I left a pair of PRADA sun glasses in the courtesy vehicle and realized this a week later I called the dealership to ask them and they said I had left them in the truck and they would put the in the office in the drawn well I asked them if it would be possible to post them if I paid for the postage as I don’t live near the dealership the said no so months past and I asked a friend if they would go and get them for me as they live near there they went but couldn’t find my glasses as the woman was on holiday so was told to contact them on Monday Monday came spoke to them and guess what my sun glasses have been STOLEN from out of the drawn which is in the office so they have staff who steal peoples property the woman I spoke to was very rude and useless and the gave me £100 to replace my £270 glasses that were STOLEN from the drawn in there office by a member of there ROBBING MEMBER OF STAFF so people I wouldn’t use this dealership but if you do don’t leave anything in your vehicle because it will probably be gone when you get back as they have thief’s working for them if something isn’t safe if the office it’s definitely not safe in your car

Do not recommend

I would not recommend this garage to anyone. If anything goes wrong with your car they do not want to know about it.

I purchased a car January 2024 and after 5 months I started having massive issues. I phoned the garage and they didn't want to know as I was 'out of warranty' They were VERY unhelpful so I took my car to another garage. However, after speaking to citizens advice they told me that I should have been covered under the consumer rights act 2015.

Over the next 6 months I ended up losing over £8000 in repairs. The case ended up going through the Motor Ombudsman. I had to wait a year to finally get an answer and unsurprisingly they were biased towards the garage. After reading reviews about the MO this is normally the outcome.

I owned the vehicle for a year and ended up being £15,000 down. Not a penny received. Be warned, do not make the same mistake as me.
