As per all other reviews this is a scam. If there ever was any winners why didn’t they use those winners as positive marketing. There is no positive marketing or winners evidence on the whole of the internet. Got done for £39.99 for a full year before we realised. Phone up, cancel by email within the 14 days. They use disappearing emails and lie. Take extreme caution. Hang up.

TOP TIPS WITH CANCELLING YOUR DEBIT

Like many of you, I am not the wisest telephone customer and also blindly fell for this scam. Yesterday, I received a confirmation of the direct debit they have set on my account. I’ve been waiting for this and here are TOP TIPS for you how to overcome this situation.

1. Once you got scammed, call your bank IMMEDIATELY. They are likely to reassure you that you will be able to cancel any of your direct debits at any time. BEAR IN MIND: direct debits are visible at your bank account ONLY when you make the first payment. Before that, it is impossible to cancel anything. The other significant benefit of calling your bank is that you will have a proof of reporting the scam.

2. Once you get an email stating you have set up an account with First Prize Lottos (or World Lottos), you are being signed up as a member. They WILL proceed to creating a direct debit for £39/month.
DO NOT WAIT, CANCEL A MEMBERSHIP IMMEDIATELY.
By their T&C, in the first 14 days of membership you are eligible to cancel it without any obligations. DO SO. Get in touch with them via email AND phone. Be straightforward and let them know you’ve read their T&C. They will try to change your mind via phone, DO NOT FALL INTO IT. Be harsh. Keep persuading them you NEED to get in cancelled. They will eventually give up and tell you to send a cancellation request via email. Do this in the same harsh, straightforward, and confident manner. Several times if you want. They will also ask via phone the reason why you are cancelling. I suppose, the best way to get away is to make up a reason and not to give in that you are aware of scam. My call seems to be successful - after 3 hours I got an email with confirmation of cancellation (check your Spam folder, it may be there).

3. They process their payments via Access PaySuite LTD. I was able to talk to one of their employees by leaving a complaint on the website. They told me they would pass forward my complaints, however I hardly believe they will anyhow challenge this problem. However, it is again good to have a proof that you are not responsible for the direct debit.

4. Your last resort is closing a bank account with your bank completely and becoming a customer with a new bank. The direct debit will then be cancelled automatically, and you will also get a new sort code and account number so you will not be scammed by this company again.

DO NOT PANIC! I was very much frustrated and stressed once I realised my mistake. But there are people who are on your side, such as your bank helpline and Direct Debit Guarantee. Know your rights and do whatever you can to deal with the situation.

In the email I got from First Prize they say that my membership will be cancelled automatically unless I get in touch in the next 48 hours. Hopefully, no payments will be taken from my account, however if they will I will call my bank immediately and cancel the subscription + ask for refund.
I will keep you updated and let you know whether the direct debit has been terminated.

Good luck to y’all!

Absolute scam

Absolute scam!
Preying on the elderly/vulnerable.
Called my mother telling her she’d won some vouchers. Convinced her she needs to give her bank details so she can claim her prize. Now she’s received an email saying a direct debit has been set up, no amount stated, no date given. Told her to go straight to the bank and report it!

First Prize Lotto FRAUDS

Stay away. This company is a fraud. They go by the name of First Prize Lotto and setup unauthorised direct debits of £39. Luckily I saw the initial payment on 25th March being taken from my account and quickly canceled the direct debit and contacted my bank to report them as frauds.

Scam

Scam! scam! Scam. Got a call from a Daniel (with an Asian accent) from FIRSTPRIZELOTTO, Phone number +442045250766, who told me I had won an Estee Lauder bag. Had all my details, including email, phone number, house number, postcode, DOB, etc. He could even spell my difficult name. He then asked for my bank details. I started by giving him my Bank name, next he asked for the sort code, I told him to look it up online. He became aggressive when I refused to give him my account number. Please always check with Trustpilot or Action Fraud.police.uk before giving out your details.

A very smart -Scam (Now called first prize lotto)

They called and said I had won a competions and was guarenteed to win a share of the lotto winnings of a syndicate of 150 other winners. They knew my address, name, date of birth and email. I also unfortunately fell for this. I am usually very skeptical but I do enter a lot of online competitions. They asked for my account number and sort code, reassuring me it is just to pay the winnings, then they started talking about a 39 pound a month direct debit that will be refunded if I do not win in three months. They maniplated me and imediately I felt stupid for giving them my account info. I called my bank straight after and they put a block on any new direct debits. Hopefully they will not be able to do anything. I recommed anyone in the same situation t call your bank and they can block any attempts of direct deposits being taken.

FIRST PRIZE LOTTOS IS A SCAM!

My first encounter with First Prize Lottos was in December 2022, unfortunately I made the mistake of agreeing to some offer they made about the lottery, I couldn’t do anything about it until after three months (after they had taken £39 quid from my account for each of the three months. I cancelled my subscription/membership with them, I have emails to prove that. Somebody named Joey Daniels called me in August to notify me of a reduction in membership fees, I made it clear that I had cancelled my membership and I was not interested, this was further made clear in an email I sent to said Joey. Unbeknownst to me, Joey and his team went ahead to set up another direct debit on my account that same August without my authorization. ( this proves that they still held onto my information including bank sort code, despite my membership cancellation and despite my request for the account and my information to be deleted) this is a pure violation, data breach and breach of privacy. I had to contact my bank to cancel the direct debit and take my money back. DO NOT MAKE THE MISTAKE OF INDULGING THESE PEOPLE, the moment they have your information, whether you consent or not, they will coerce you or sign up for a membership that will take money out of your account. They must be stopped because from the reviews here on Trust pilot, it is clear that they’ve been doing this for long and to other people.

This company is rude and lies

This company is rude and lies. I was called one day and was not let off the phone until I made a purchase obviously I’m to nice and went by what they said was if that I didn’t make all the money I put in then I would be given a refund. 3 months later I called to get my refund which was over £100 and they said I couldn’t have it because I made £1 on the games over 3 months so I’ve lost so much money. I’m 19 and do not have a clue about this stuff but I have clearly learned not to be so stupid and listen to people just because they sound nice. Having a baby and no money I was crying down the phone and I could hear people giggling wether that was at me or not it sounded like it was. I would defo not recommend this they are a scam and they do not tell you all the details

How to prevent the direct debit?

Hey guys I’m in the same predicament as all of you. I gave them my details but they haven’t taken the £39 as of yet. If I’m to enable the “gambling block” icon in my bank app do you think it could prevent the transaction from going through?

They debited my account of £39 without any prior notice. If that is not stealing from people then I wonder what it is. But then, the last one you did is the last one you will. Bunch of thieves and rogues.

SCAM DO NOT TRUST

I finished talking on the phone with one of the operators and I’m embarrassed that I felt happy that I was entered in a lottery for free, I went online to check if this was a scam and checked the reviews on this website to find out that it was indeed a scam, I called them back to ask if it was and even talked to the manager giving all sorts of excuses of how this isn’t a scam, I was then given the number to their customer service and was told to call them to sort it out, because I wanted to withdraw my “membership”. Customer service gave me a cheaper offer of £19 a month when I told them I don’t want any money taken out of my account at all, they then told me to email them and it will
take up to 30 days to withdraw my account.
