Now 75 - can’t have Annual Policy !
We have been with World First for quite some time, never needed to claim, now a bit disappointed about me not being able to get an annual insurance as I have reached 75 years of age when other companies allow it.

Very thorough but worth it
The website worked OK but on reading through last declaration we found we were required to inform you of old conditions (more than 10years) which we could not add by editing the quotation? However the girl we spoke to was very helpful and took us through the additional screening quite quickly.This resulted in an increased quotation which was still quite competitive with other quotes we had received

Our medical screening is absolutely very thorough but, this allows us to continue to be medical travel insurance specialists with competitive premiums.
It is worth mentioning that we don't just ask you to screen historical conditions unnecessarily. There are some conditions that we need to screen if you have EVER had treatment for or been diagnosed with and this is where you fitted on this occasion. We did listen to your call with us just to make absolutely sure for you.
The questions of course do reflect the current medical situation so we would never charge too much more without consideration.

The service I got from the person on…
The service I got from the person on the phone was so helpful I had trouble with my card and she was so patient with me, luckily when I sorted it out with the bank she actually answered the phone when I called back and sorted everything out for me,before hand I had called another company the day before and they were very rude. They promised to call me back in 5 minutes but they never apparently that person went home I waited for over an hour for her to call me back,the company was called sure start.

Great Customer service
Great Customer service. Tom had a great nature and did a good job of talking me through everything. OK it cost more than I would like but that's a consequence of getting older and having niggling health issues, which whilst causing no issues whatever push up the cost of insurance. I have shopped around but found nobody as good as World First.

Policy Renewal Proceedures and Correspondence
Your staff were very helpful thro the process however to go through this proceedure every year leaves a lot to be desired.
Other companies issue an updated quote and automatic renewal prior to the policy end. Indeed your own documents advise that you will contact me around 31 days before policy end with an updated premium.
This did not happen,nor was I provided with reminder notification that my policy was ending.

Asks The Right Questions and Provides Affordable Cover
As someone with pre-existing medical conditions, this company demonstrated a strong understanding for the risk involved balanced with customer affordability. Sadly, unlike the vast majority of insurers I approached, World First actually asked condition appropriate questions to gain the knowledge needed to assess the likelihood of a medical event while abroad.
Of course this is only one side of the process. The other side is the highly unlikely event I fall ill while abroad and actually require medical assistance, how easy is it to claim the cover insured for. Fortunately I hope I don't have to review such an experience as it is highly unlikely. So, so far I would rate World First very highly.
