Sold on one thing, got a patchup job
Was originally sold on having Kitchen and outhouse fitted with the outhouse having plenty of cut left for under stairs area.
We were specifically told that there would be enough offcut (2x2m room with an order of 3x2m) to fit under the stairs section. (Theres even more offcut than this as theres also a double cupboard, but ignoring that...)
After being overcharged in the first place, then messed about with install times and waiting weeks with no contact, install day came and we now have 3 cuts patched together to fit the area.
We chased this to get some explanation only to be told that there wasn't enough spare as it used the remaining 1x2m just to line up the pattern, even if this is true, it doesn't take into consideration there's a double cupboard in the same room with more or less similar space to the under stairs.
After all this, no offer to rectify after specifically being sold on the fact there would be enough flooring to cover this other area, but offered a measly £30 off of a next order.
Reply Update:
The space under the stairs is barely half of 1x2, I’m aware the full cut wouldn’t be left that’s not what I’ve explained, nor what I was told at the point of sale.
As I also have stated, yes under the stairs was fitted, using 3 different cuts in an area not even 1m wide.
You’re trying to respond in a way that is ignoring points I’ve made and trying to focus on points like 2 weeks is a fast turnaround, my point wasn’t the time to install if you read correctly; it was that nobody made contact for weeks after paying for the order with any eta then upon chasing was told different reasons as to why, or ignoring that there is also double cupboards in that same room which take out a similar size as the under stairs.
This is just the fitters not being old what the original plan was and that I originally went in to order the length which would fit under the stairs, to be told not to as there would be enough remaining to cover it (which there would have been if the fitters were informed prior)
You’re basically saying “well we fitted under the stairs so that’s a good thing , doesn’t matter it’s in 3 seperate bits after being told it would be enough” & “Waiting weeks & weeks with no contact & no idea of what’s happening is extremely quick because it’s a special order?”

I have spoken with the store who have advised that the fitters have fit your herringbone vinyl in order for the pattern to line up, during installation of your vinyl this was explained and agreed. Due to this, the fitters needed to cut the vinyl to line up in the room and therefore not exactly 1x2 was left over.
However the fitters were able to fit to the whole area including the understairs section as required.
In regards to the communication from the store you purchased the vinyl on the 28th April and was fitted within 2 weeks, as this is a special order this is an exceptionally quick turn around, however all of your comments will be passed onto management for review.
The team will be more than happy to discount your next order due to not the exact measurements being left over and if you have any further information please contact us on aftersales@unitedcarpets.net.

The whole experience from buying our carpet to it being fitted was great. Staff ( Sarah ) at the shop in chesterfield was very helpful and the carpet fitter ( Neil man with yellow van ) was very professional and did a great job.

Good quality carpet, great service

Had carpets from you over the years and that was the reason we used yougood service in the shop
Very good service in the shop, assistant directed us to the carpets suitable for sister moving into sheltered accommodation - fitter arrived and as paint work wasn't completely dry he returned the next day - husband met him up there and couldn't praise him enough - polite and very good at his job

Very friendly
Very friendly, helpful staff ( especially Sarah). The carpet fitter was also excellent. We had slightly misjudged the size of the kitchen, but he was able to join with an offcut, but looking at it you wouldn't know.
Highly recommend, and would use again.
