£60 for a new watch battery ? Went to another shop, cost £8

Getting ripped off .
Went into Timpsons at Bishop Auckland.
Today, to get an old motorbike key cut.
No chips or remote on it
Oh that will be £30.00.
The server would not even look at me, as he was fully aware of myself being overcharged greatly.
We left and went to a local independent company.
£8.00 sir can do it now.
Please please look around. As this company is being ex torsionate prices.

I went here to have a new car key cut. I met Elliot and he was very helpful. Gave me all the options and was very honest with me. I would recommend going to see him at Monks Cross or Beverley Morrisons, for any key cutting.

Keys worked, but very disappointed with the quality

I needed replacement keys for my Rockdoor front door, as a few of my original keys had eventually bent after many years of use.

I went to Timpson outside Asda in Luton and had 3 replacement keys cut. The keys all worked perfectly in the lock, so I had no issue with the actual cutting. However, I immediately noticed that the replacement keys felt noticeably lighter and thinner than the original Rockdoor keys.

Unfortunately, within just a few weeks, all 3 keys had bent from simply being carried in my pocket. For comparison, my original Rockdoor keys had lasted around 10 years, so I was very disappointed with the quality of the replacements.

I've since discovered that I could order official Rockdoor keys online through WebKeys.co.uk simply by using the code on the original key. They cost me around the same price, arrived within a couple of days and feel considerably more substantial.

Based on my experience, I wouldn't use Timpson again for this particular type of key. The service and cutting itself were fine, but the quality of the key blanks just wasn't good enough considering all three bent within weeks.

The service at our new Timpson in Stow on the Wold was quick and polite but I thought £19.95 charged for a watch battery totally outrageous. Will not be returning.

★☆☆☆☆ Damaged My Watch During a Routine Battery Replacement

I took my quartz field watch, which dates from around 1990 and has significant sentimental value as it belonged to my father, to Timpson on Williamson Road, Finsbury Park, for what should have been a routine battery replacement.

Before leaving the watch, I specifically pointed out that it had a 100m water-resistance rating and that care would be needed with the gasket during reassembly. The employee's response suggested a lack of understanding of the importance of maintaining the watch's water-resistance integrity, which in hindsight should have been a warning sign.

I was told to return in 20 minutes, but when I came back I was informed that the watch hands had somehow "fallen off" during reassembly. I was then asked to return the following day so that the manager could deal with the issue. When I returned, I discovered I was not speaking to the manager as previously indicated, and I was told that the dial was now "uneven" and that the watch would need to be sent away for repair, a process expected to take at least two weeks.

The watch was in excellent working order before Timpson worked on it. After a simple battery change, it was left damaged and requiring specialist repair. The faults described by staff did not exist before the battery replacement and appear to have arisen directly from the work carried out.

This experience raises serious concerns about staff training, competence and quality control. A routine battery replacement should not result in a customer receiving back a damaged watch.

Unfortunately, this experience has completely undermined my confidence in Timpson. I entrusted them with a straightforward job and received back a damaged watch. I cannot recommend this branch based on my experience.

Just wanted to give a big high five to Rich in Ealing for the best service today. Went to pick up my damaged boot as the sole had come away , he checked the work and could see it wasn’t up to scratch so immediately fixed it. Super impressed as I could have walked away with half done job, thank you !

I was so overstimulated from my morning that I didn't ask their name but the Timpson employee in Sunderland ASDA Boldon was so helpful when fixing my car key. Had a laugh canny banter as well that it made me feel a bit better, I remembered that he said that he had just passed his probation it was at around 1:15pm today 8th August. Absolutely great customer service, thank you!

Went to Lombardy in Hayes to get a new car key today. The lady in there was so nice. Couldn't have been more helpful. Very impressed with her service. A credit to your company. Maureen Simpson

Tried Timpson 3 times for a key cut, non of opens the door,i bought a key chain that broke whitin a week, in the end i gave up and asked for a refund, i got the refund with no issues. Moved home and needed another key as i only had one,i though would give them another chance, tried a diffent branch in Swindon and guess what? Key does not open the door again, forth time in a trot their key cut does not work, i must be so unlucky or they are qualified for the jod or use bad quality materials. Will be going back and get the refund straight away and not use Timpsons ever again.

Visited Timpson Runcorn earlier today. The service by Steve was fantastic. Fast, efficient and very helpful

The second hand of my Tissot watch was jumping and still working properly when I went to York Monks Cross Timpson in Sainsbury and changed the battery. Andy told me to collect the watch in 20 minutes. When I returned, my watch crown and stem were separated and the back cover was opened. Andy quoted me £100 for repair. My watch was still moving when I dropped it off. Andy kept asserting I had to change the battery because the watch had already stopped working. Totally ridiculous and irresponsible.

Chris Spadger who works for Timpsons in High Wycombe store Morrisons (store 1813), is an exceptional, friendly, knowledgeable, highly experienced and professional in everything he does. He remembers his customer and their issues. He is very meticulous in his work. Even the breakdown services refer to him for advice.
He has been working there for 14 years and I highly recommend him for promotion. Don’t lose such a highly professional they are hard to find and gives Timpsons a respectable name.

I visited the Basingstoke store today and spoke with a super helpful friendly professional young man named Josh.
My problem was my copy Chub key, which was probably quite old, was no longer working as well as the master Chub key, he fixed this for me spending time and seeking advice and did it all goodwill , I have been using Timpsons for a long time and will continue to do so thank you Josh :)

Shout out to Paul "Monkey" in the Wetherby Store.

I left my daughters pair of specialist orthotic shoes with him to send off to the central warehouse for repair. The zips around the shoes are curved around the toe area, and one of them had started to come away from the material. We weren't sure if they could be fixed.

Paul felt that, as the zip was curved, if he sent the shoes off to the central warehouse to be fixed that they would not be able to help, so he very kindly fixed by hand sewing. This will help us get much more use out of them before my daughter inevitably needs new orthotics moulded & will then need the next size of shoe.

To top it off, Paul was so generous & refused to take any payment for his work.

I would recommend this store every time!

I went to my local Timpsons at Brookwood, Surrey to have my watch battery changed, To my surprise, Grant not only changed the battery, he went over and above in that he stripped and cleaned the inside of the watch as there was some moisture in it. As well as this he polished the glass and removed the scratches. That is what I call great customer service! One very happy customer!!

Rip off Battery prices

I visited the store in East prescot road ( Sainsburys).
I was greeted warmly by Lee who understood that I needed, a new watch battery and discussed my options/add ons.
He quickly fitted the battery and I was on my way.
I found Lee was knowledgeable, professional and approachable and I will definitely go there again.
In the service industry you only get one chance to impress and Lee certainly hit the mark!
