Nog steeds één van de beste brilglazen, maar meteen ook de slechtste aftersales service.
3 maanden geleden zonnebril gekocht, mede op basis van vroegere ervaringen met Serengeti zonnebril. Duur maar dan heb je ook wat ! Op gegeven moment bemerkte ik barst in 1 glas, kon geen reden bedenken. Bij opticien waar ik hem gekocht heb bril laten zien, zij hebben contact met Serengeti gehad, en die stellen dat barst gevolg is van val en dus niet vergoed wordt. Samen met opticien naar bril gekeken en geen enkele schade gezien. Opticien vertelde dat hij bij Serengeti geprobeerd had service/garantie voor glas te krijgen maar antwoord bleef duidelijk Nee. Dus maar nieuwe glazen besteld ( moet per 2 ) en met opticien afgesproken dat ikzelf zou proberen contact met Serengeti te krijgen. Op de website staat contact formulier dat echter niet werkte, kreeg alleen foutmeldingen bij pogingen om op te sturen. dus geen stap verder gekomen. Mijn mening : goede bril met zeer slechte service.
DO NOT SUPPORT THIS COMPANY, I ORDERED SUNGLASSES OFF THEIR AMAZON STORE NOT ONLY DID THEY COME SCRATCHED THEY REFUSED TO JUST SEND ME ONE LENSE TO GET IT REPLACED MYSELF SINCE THE SUNGLASSES ARE OUT OF STOCK. TO TOP IT OFF I GET A CASE THAT IS THE WRONG SIZE AND I ASKED CUSTOMER SERVICE TO SEND ME ONE FOR FREE THAT FITS AND THEY ALSO MADE AN EXCUSE OF WHY THEY CANT SEND ME A SIMPLE CASE TO FIT MY SUNGLASSES, I HAD TO USE AN OLD RAY BANS CASE. THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE SUCKS AND WILL NEVER EARN MY BUSINESS AGAIN.
The price is hard to swallow but they are Serengeti. While nobody carries these to check them out before ordering I imagine that they will be premium glasses built on their past reputation. Upon getting them I looked at the lens tint and was not really impressed. I am a professional driver and the need was for something to make the details "POP" especially in inclement weather. These "mineral lenses" did have a clarity to them that was noticeable from the start but yet when I wear them on a cloudy day it doesn't make me feel any higher level of performance over my RayBan Aviators. Or even over my 40 year old yellow tinted Serengeti Aviators. But I seldom wear these vintage ones because they aren't replaceable anymore. These new frames are also a bit off from my usual style, but it was the closet I could get in a "drivers glasses". When I bought these, I tried to engage Serengeti in a conversation only to find they are a conglomerate of many companies...mostly that I would never patronize because I don't buy Made in China. They say these are Made in Italy!! But nobody is alive in Customer Service to speak to!!! So I took a chance in ordering these. Additionally, and lastly, the Serengeti case that they give you is really cheap and when trying to get the glasses out, the case lid is pre-bent and stiff like it has Rigor mortise...and it also has no way to lock the closure (like velcro or a snap). Today, while the case and glasses were left overnight in my car, upon opening the stiff lid to get the glasses out, the lid actually cracked in my 29 degree F car. I was tempted to give them only 2 stars but I think that the glasses are otherwise a quality build. But everything else about the "new" Serengeti "experience" is just bogus at any price!
Total lack of quality and of any customer support. I bought a pair of their sunglasses, as my previous Serengeti sunglasses finally failed after 25+ years of service.
The new sunglasses are of subpar quality, and the temple tips are made of cheap rubber or plastic tubing not attached to temples at all. I lost the tips 2 or 3 times, but was able to find them. Finally I lost one without finding it.
I decided to exercise my warranty rights, so I tried to contact the company by their online form.
The only problem was that the form was not working, not sending my message.
After few days of attempts it worked, but I immediately received an automated reply from Bollé brands (current owner of Serengeti eyewear) telling me that they cannot help me online, and I had to go to the distributor I bought my sunglasses from. The issue is that I bought it directly from their website!
I went to the closest distributor in Madrid, and I was told to contact Bollé brands as I bought it from them.
A classic runaround scheme!
The company was great until it started changing owners. The current one - Bollé brands seems to be the worst one.
The sunglasses are under the mandatory 2 year warranty, but it is impossible to exercise it!
Never again!
It has been more than 10 days and the manager hasn't contacted me. I don't expect their call now. Very BAD Customer Service.
The company website states that they have "no hassle return policy" which is misleading rather deceiving. This does NOT mean a free return of the product, instead you as a customer pay for UPS or FedEx shipment ($15 - $25). This means you get a full refund but pay for the return shipment. When I called (760) 804-8420 to return a pair of sunglasses, I was told that we would email you the instruction on how you should send back the product and when the money will be refunded. I asked to speak to a manager, so I was transferred to the manager's VM where I left a voice message providing my name and contact #, for the manager to call back. It has been 72 hours and has not heard back from the manager. On the company website under the "Returns" tab this is what it says. "We have a no hassle return policy for purchases made on our website. You have 30 days from the date you received your order to contact us for a full refund. Just give us a call at (760) 804-8420 to request a Return Authorization and one of our friendly customer service team members will set that up for you. Once your return is received, we will issue your refund within 10 business days. Please note that excludes “final sale” items. If you bought one of our products from an authorized retailer (not our website), please contact that retailer to return your products." The Manager and the company are dishonest. RayBan provides FREE Refund even on sunglasses bought on sale (under $100 cost).
