Ordered a dress that came and was poor quality and way too long. Tried to return it and while they were responsive to emails they essentially made it not cost effective to return. I paid $70 and they first offered 10% back and keep the item. I pushed for a return address and they offered 20% back and a store credit of 15%. They finally sent the return address which was an address in China that would have cost more than the item to return so I ended up taking the 20% back and store credit - which I will NEVER use because the shop is a scam.

I would give 0 stars if available! Too small and cheap fabric. It doesn’t look like the photo and there is a reason they don’t show the back of the dress because it’s terrible- just a straight no details or shape back.

So bad. Do not order. Thin bad quality fabric. Sizes do not match what they should do- far too small especially the trousers/ pants. A nightmare and very expensive to return. Do not waste your money. So disappointed.

Disappointing Customer Service Experience

I am very disappointed with my experience with Ruth & Kate. I placed an order for several dresses and accidentally entered my previous address in New Jersey. As soon as I realized my mistake, I immediately contacted customer service by email to request an address change. I was told that the change would be made, so I trusted that everything had been taken care of.

Unfortunately, the dresses were still shipped to New Jersey. My neighbor had to forward the package to me in Texas and paid $15.10 out of pocket to do so.

I contacted the company to explain the situation and request reimbursement because I should not have had to pay an additional shipping cost after being assured that my address would be changed. Although their responses have been polite, I still have not received my $15.10 refund.

The amount itself may seem small, but this is about accountability and keeping promises to customers. Polite responses are appreciated, but what matters is resolving the issue fairly.

Unfortunately, this experience has left me disappointed with Ruth & Kate’s customer service. I hope the company takes responsibility and resolves this matter, but based on my experience so far, I cannot give them a positive review.

Everything has been terrible! Only one order shows on my account, both on the website and my Shop account, but two charges appear on my credit card statement. They advertise free shipping, but warn of $30 - $40 return shipping charges when I request to return. As others have noticed, they use a wholesome-looking white American family on their website, but the company is in China. TOTALLY UNSATISFACTORY!!

I received the outfit, and unfortunately, I was very disappointed with the quality. The material is much thinner than I expected and looks and feels quite inexpensive. Because of this, I would like to return the outfit. I was also disappointed to discover that the item was shipped from overseas (China) rather than from within the United States as the company says. The shipping time was quite long, and it took a while for me to receive my order. This is a terrible response received below from them. Totally unacceptable!

I ordered a dress, It took 20 days to arrive. The dress was very cheap, not at all like the photo. When we contacted them to return it, we got the same run around that other people on trustpilot described. However, I filed a complaint with my Mastercard for deceptive advertising and Mastercard put a hold on the payment. I then contacted Ruth and Kate and told them that Mastercard was going to investigate the charge. Ruth and Kate immediately refunded the purchase price to my Mastercard. I wonder if other people on this chain realize that most credit cards will give you 30 to 60 days to dispute a charge. They will give you an immediate credit and open an investigation on your behalf.

Very cheap and see-thru dress. Return policy requires paying your own shipping cost with a tracking # to China which the USPS said would cost $65. I would not shop here at all.

Dress was too big tried to return it given 3 options send back to exchange $15.00 return fee - keep dress 10%r refund plus 20% discount on another purchase - return and pay $30 to $40 return postage! Don't order from this China based company !

Do not buy from this company. I purchased two outfits they took about a month to arrive. They’re sizing is extremely off. I needed to return them. I had to pay for shipping and it was $100 to ship to China. Stay away from this company.

Do not trust this company. Their products are not worth the money. I ordered a dress and the top material wasn’t long enough to match the photo, it cut my boobs in half and didn’t go down far enough to make the dress look complete. What they also don’t say is you’re returning a product to china and it will cost $50-100 to return the item. Not even worth your time or money. I don’t recommend them.

I should have done my research before I ordered. This is another scamming Chinese company. What I received does not resemble what I ordered. It’s not even worth donating, I will throw it away. Please don’t make the same mistake.

Fabric is so cheap. Sewing horrible. Do not buy. The website looks like 2 moms started the company when in reality it’s a cheap Chinese manufacturer. And shame on me for not researching

This company is not who they say they are. They are using a wholesome US family as a front to only supply extremely cheap clothing from overseas. I recommend NEVER using this company unless you are looking for sizes that don't fit and clothing quality that is horrendous.

This company sells clothing that is not AT ALL what is represented on their website. Their "detailed sizing guide" on the website is not remotely accurate, and they use that to refuse to issue a refund. The fabric is so cheap, with no materials listed in it. My order was advertised as linen, but I suspect it is at least partly plastic based on the feel/texture. At this point they are refusing to issue a refund, though I told them that their sizing guide does not fit and the fabric is not what was represented. My advice is DO NOT buy from this business.

I ordered a dress that was on sell with a no return policy. Shipping was horrible; it took three weeks to receive dress. Most critical is that the dress LOOKED NOTHING LIKE WHAT WAS ADVERTISED! I paid $70.00 for a joke! What will I do with a brand new dress that looks like garbage? Ruth & Kate are a joke!

I have received Amazon orders with finer cloth than this. Color isn't as advertised, they say f you. Size doesn't work? Also on you. I guess I'll just donate to someone who can wear lemon-lime instead of sage green and eat the expense.

I literally just threw every piece away. Complete crap clothing, never even wore a single piece. Lesson learned.

I wish I saw these reviews before I purchased online. The dress was cheap and not at all like the image I saw. They took forever to respond to my email and offered a 10% refund. Another scam warehouse in another country making garbage clothing. Do not buy from here.

If I could give a zero I would. I ordered two items in the same size. One is too small and feels like plastic. The other is too big. Both are cheaply made and not attractive. I wish I had read the reviews before I ordered. Don’t fall for their cute ads. Seems like everything from China is like this.
