Oh what an awful experience attending…

Oh what an awful experience attending this show on the Monday of the May bank holiday weekend nothing positive to say about the organisers of this event. They have a lot to learn moving forward. And it is a lot! It was advertised as being on the Farley Estate only to discover it was at Swallowfield Park! Badly organised and the lay out was awful. Everything was too far spread out. The toilets were truly disgusting! Clearly they had not been cleaned from the day before… no chemical flush in the toilets, no toilet paper, no water to wash hands or antibacterial gel! They say first impressions count and this has truly left a really bad impression. We will not under any circumstances be attending any event this shambolic company organises again, it’s a wonder they are in business. I wouldn’t go even if I was paid to attend! Terrible the only positive experience was the group we were attending with and they too are also of the same opinion as us! The stall holders we spoke to were all of the same opinion as us as to the event being poorly organised and I really felt sorry for them! A couple had mentioned how very rude, very unhelpful and very unprofessional the organisers were!
Avoid going to any event this company ‘try’ to organise they couldn’t organise a p…up in a brewery if they tried!

Farley Hill, Swallowfield

Farley Hill, Swallowfield
May Bank Holiday 2026
Vast layout, one set of loos 'miles' away from main arena.
Would not recommend for disabled, or people with mobility issues.
Will not be attending a Quintessentially Event in the future. Toilets in one spot, a trek from the main arena. No consideration for disabled or people with mobility issues. Spoke to a man (no gentleman), who proceeded to be extremely confrontational. He did not want to listen, and made that clear. As he walked off towards colleagues the F word was heard, followed by heads turning towards myself. No customer service, or hosting skills. Few event stalls, with unhappy stall holders. A few commented on their poor treatment by the organiser. AND wrong post code as the advertised location.

Stay away, awful and rude

The event was advertised as Farley Estate but the event and post code for the event was approximately 2 miles further down the road than advertised. The staff was rude aggressive and not prepared to support traders with disabilities. When asked to speak to the person in charge, I was most disappointed to establish that she was the director of the company. The toilets and disabled toilets were about a 10 minute walk from the stalls and to get water this was appropriately 100m in the opposite direction. We will never trade we QBE again. Safety was poor wires trailing across the field not covered in at least 2 places. Grass approximately 8 inches long in the trade camp area making walking further difficult. Only 1 security guard on site for an event of this size. We were told we could expect 8000 visitors over the 2 days it was more like 800.

We visited the Berkshire Country Show…

We visited the Berkshire Country Show and were really disappointed with the overall experience. The event felt extremely underwhelming for the price charged, with very little actually going on and not much to do throughout the day.

What concerned us most was the welfare of some of the animals. The weather was boiling hot, yet several animals appeared to have little or no shade available and were left sitting in direct sun during the hottest part of the day. It was uncomfortable to witness and didn’t feel well managed at all.

For what we paid, we expected a much better organised event with more attractions, activities, and proper consideration for animal welfare. Unfortunately, it felt poorly planned and not worth the cost.

The British Country Show Berkshire - Quintessentially British Events

We have just returned from The British Country Show Berkshire. Farley Estate. The weather has been glorious but the experience with some aspects not so much. We had parked and as we have a disabled member in our group we usually do a reckkie for the nearest loo. Oh my goodness we counted the nearest one to the main car park was 380 steps away and the second set of mobile loos were even further. We did mention to staff in blue events shirts that it would be more sensible to have a disabled loo perhaps nearer the main car park end where there are also several stalls and the main events arena. A gentleman with a blue events shirt asked us what was wrong and we repeated the solution to what we thought was a reasonable request. He wasnt the most helpful and said he was not prepared to put loos at that end for one person. We tried to explain it wouldnt be for one person but useful for loos to be placed at the entrance end for stall holders, members of the public and especially disabled people. He wasnt prepared to listen and and we felt we were getting nowhere. A training session needed I think for this gentleman who is not very good at dealing with with the public. Also we mentioned that power cables were lying across the field and were potentially trip hazards. He said he was just about to deal with this. The cables were never highlighted with any hazard tape the whole weekend. Although the sun was glorious and our disable friend managed without using a loo thank goodness. BUT the set up of the field could have been so much better thoughtout with consideration to elderly, disabled and indeed the stall holders the entrance side of the field. I dont think we will be returned to a Quintessentially british events show.

QBE , what a disaster

We paid for a trading pitch at both the Bucks Country show on 3 and 4th May and the Berkshire Country Show this bank holiday weekend 24/25 May.
The Bucks show was badly laid out with toilets not spread about for easy access and not maintained.
The staff were mostly unhelpful and in some cases very rude.
We decided then never to book with QBE ever again.
We had paid for our pitch at the Berkshire Country fair as it was advertised as being at The Farley Estates and we tried to cancel it but this was refused so we had to attend.
The show was not at Farley estates but at Swallowfield park which caused concern to many .
To cut a very long story short we turned up and voiced our many concerns , toilets , layout of the show , vehicle parking and other issues.
This was met with unhelpful comments from management bordering on being abusive which was a common theme today.
We have to return tomorrow as we are a small family business and have paid for our 2 day pitch which we have yet to cover our costs.
Never again will we book with QBE

AVOID

If I could give Quintessentiallybritishevents zero stars I would. Attended Buckingham Show and they had Rude and aggressive staff. Poorly run and make promises of large crowds and rip of anyone they can. No preparation and so poorly run it was embarrassing. Couldn't even cut the grass, so it was like Hay and unsafe. I have never seen such a poorly run country show. No wonder attendances were very low and a fraction of the crowd they estimate.
Never again will I attend an event that has anything to do with them. Avoid.

Very disappointing

Very disappointing. Taking money for such a poor show. Shows at Ardingly are usually very good - this is the exception - it had nothing to offer and the rings where the shows should have been were empty. Never again.

Disappointed and Disgusted by Quintessentially British Events

I am appalled by the way Quintessentially British Events handled the cancellation of The British Country Show.

After they announced it was cancelled early on during the show. Due to rain, which I understand you can't control the weather. However no plans for April showers were thought about.

I requested a refund. Which by law I'm entitled to if they cancel the show. However Paula palmed me off on the day to emails. She replied once then her and other company emails proceeded to ignore any message I sent.

This to me is totally unacceptable and unprofessional.

Sadly, Quintessentially British Events has betrayed my trust by failing to fulfil their legal and ethical obligations.
Their out right scam behaviour and disregard for their customers a disgrace.

I urge others to think twice before engaging with any events managed by these people. They should not be trusted to manage any event.

Booked tickets to Fulham Palace Light…

Booked tickets to Fulham Palace Light Show through this company. It was cancelled due to the weather - rang up to ask for a refund an was told tickets were only transferable and not refundable!! They never replied to any of my emails. Absolute joke will never go to an event by them again.

After paying £80 for the three of us we…

After paying £80 for the three of us we attended the Nonsuch Park Summerfest run by this company.

It was raining and, of course, there was nothing anyone could do about that.

However, despite the obvious chance that it might rain, there was absolutely no provision for rain. No cover was provided. I felt sorry for the few stalls that remained open - most had given up because there was nobody around. I watched one performer playing his heart out to an audience of literally two people.

There was no point to staying as there was just no activity. I genuinely thought that we might get a message offering that we might be allowed to attend on the second day in case the weather improved.

I will not be attending any events run by this company again.

Another blighting carbuncle on the rear end of British business

The rain had stopped and the music was playing. Carnival sounds and announcements filled the air. It was 2:55pm precisely when we arrived with our 3 dogs; all of us looking forward to the shows and food stalls at the Nonsuch Town & County Show. The sole member of staff at the entrance blankly informed us that we were not permitted to enter as “we were told not to admit anyone”. Notwithstanding our tickets (bought online the day before) and the fact that the fair was meant to end only at 5:30 pm, we were given no reason. When we enquired why, he parroted “we were told not to admit anyone”. He then informed us that we should email the organiser to get our money back. No apology, no reason. When we later passed by (after having had tea and cakes at the park café) the fair at 4:20pm, we could still hear the fairground music and sounds. It was evidently still going on! Quintessentially British Events (the organiser of the fair) is yet another one of the many enterprises that infest and contaminate the British business community with its pathetic customer unfriendliness.
