I ordered my medication via their ordering system as I only had 7 days left, I received an email today after chasing them to find out they’re not issuing me any more menopause medication until I’ve had a follow up appointment and paid the £395 which I didn’t mind but I’ve now only 2 days left. Basically I can’t have medication until my review is then be sent the medication after being off it for over a week. Phoned my doctor and I can get everything off them via the NHS .. terrible that you’d let women suffer because you want money off us .. what a scam

Sadly their service takes advantage of women. This is how it goes:

£300/£350 consultation and prescription

Then no help with issues that arise unelss you pay a fee of £5 per min (£50 per 10 mins block). So if you have a quick query, £50. If you’d like to ask to amend your dose £50. If you have a bigger problem that’s another £300. There is absolute NO follow up help at all unless you pay a fiver a minute. This is unreasonable in my opinion and follow up should be factored into the initial consultation.

I’ve had a lot of issues with their prescription and left high and dry.

I find this so sad.

The most helpful, supportive, understanding and knowledgeable staff I have ever discussed my peri menopause symptoms with. They listened and then asked the appropriate questions instead of fobbing me off saying it was just a phase. The HRT I had prescribed and am taking restarted my life, from feeling old, unwell and anxious all the time I now feel like I can work again and my family has seen an amazing change for the better. Thank you for being there for me when nobody else was.

I booked an appointment via instagram and the price was not shown until I got the confirmation email. I immediately wanted to cancel and nothing on line works, the website form doesn’t work, their email account isn’t monitored, their Instagram messages are not monitored and there phone line is only available Monday to Friday! As I can’t contact them it will be outside their two day cancellation period. I’m panicking!!!

The pioneering work done at The Newson Clinic has transformed the lives of so many women, including my wife's. She has had a serious mental health issue, which had undoubtedly been exacerbated by a hormone imbalance. Dr Newson went well over and above in order to help my wife. I could not be more grateful.

Having been refused treatment by my GP I approached Newson health to seek guidance and support. The service is superb, professional and informative. The GP appointment was so reassuring and the doctor answered all my questions and provided clear guidance that informed my decision making and anxiety. Having had a follow up appointment, the doctor was attentive, asked for feedback on how I was feeling and provided options for treatment going forward. I cannot fault the professional service provided.

Had to leave a review as the service, professionalism and knowledge at The Newson Clinic is outstanding. I had a 45 minute virtual appointment with one of their wonderful Drs. She listened, understood and advised (something my own gp hasn’t done)
I’ve since phones with a couple of queries and the staff are all friendly and knowledgeable. I will be recommending them to all my girlfriends.

Honestly, don’t waste your money. Despite filling in the forms with my situation, which is complicated by a previous cancer diagnosis, the doctor I spoke to clearly hadn’t read the notes and appeared to have very little knowledge about dealing with menopause and cancer. She recommended to me that I take supplements, many of which would actually be dangerous for me to take, and at one point when I expressed that I didn’t really want to take progesterone said that “it’s a shame you couldn’t ask your gynaecologist to remove your uterus then you wouldn’t have to bother“ I was surprised to hear a medical professional suggesting that someone undertake such invasive debilitating surgery without a clinical reason. I expected to be put in touch with somebody who could give me advice and reassurance or even just discuss my options with me, but the doctor said to me “you seem to know more about this than I do”. Of course I do it’s my life we talking about, but I would expect for nearly £300 a Doctor who had at least a equivalent knowledge base to me would be allocated. Really disappointed.

Only good things to say about this clinic. I’ve been with them 2.5 years and always had brilliant care, a consultant who listens and great admin team who respond quickly. It’s not cheap but worth every penny. I even get prescriptions from them now due to so much hassle and errors with my doctor. It’s a game changer I wish I’d discovered it pre menopause.

Dr Clair Crocket at Newson Health has a lovely bedside manner. She put my mind at rest at questions I had, was warm and welcoming and I received very prompt feedback letter on my appointment and results of blood tests taken.

I wanted to share an update. Since I wrote the review I have been contacted by Newson and duly compensated.
They do appear to have a good customer service dealing with complaints. I have therefore update my rating accordingly

As a long-standing patient of Newson I feel the need to write about my recent appointment of the 18th May with Emma.
If I’m being totally honest I feel like I’ve ‘Ripped Off’ which is a horrible term of phase and hate to use it but I do need to explain further.
Firstly I would like to know exactly how long my recent conversation lasted, which in my mind was only 15-20 minutes max? Most of it was an update re my medical situation from my behalf. I also made a complaint about the fiasco about Newson’s part in stopping me getting important private blood tests done for my condition. Despite phoning several times I never actually was able to get them done in the timeframe my consultant needed them. This was another oversight of Newson and your ridiculous reluctance that I could use the same pathology lab for something completely unrelated, very frustrating. As I explained too there was really nothing Newson can add in our conversation as I’m currently been treated for ……….. so it was a very brief update and nothing else for you to add. This privilege cost me a staggering £165 which is an outrageous amount of money.
My consultant who is a highly eminent in his field only charges £225 for 45 minutes pro rata you are which makes your charges double his at £11 per minute or in comparison £660 per hour which is not acceptable.
Considering I’m now not able to work I simply can’t justify morally or financially this kind of money and feel this wasn’t a benefit to me of any sort.
I have two friends that have switched from Newson for the same reasons. Whilst Newson has been great it’s too big and something in this expansion has been lost.
For these reasons I feel I’m going to have to leave which is very sad as common sense and ethics seem lost along the way.
I would like you to explain to me how these charges are morally justified and correct ?

I’ve been a patient of Newson Health since the day it opened! It’s such a wonderful place filled with knowledge, great advice and wonderful staff. Louise Newson started me on my HRT journey when she was my GP, she was the only Dr to listen to me. I’d be foolish to not to have my annual reviews at the clinic in Stratford. She’s a life saver!

Had to wait a long time for an appointment, but when I finally got one the doctor was very nice and seemed knowledgeable.
Extremely keen to put me on HRT even though my sister had breast cancer.
She advised that I should be ok as I probably would’ve had it by now.

Well, guess what, I developed breast cancer and had to stop the HRT. My surgeon asked why I’d been prescribed it.

I know in retrospect I should’ve been told about genetic testing to see if I was at risk, but the clinic was too quick to prescribe HRT in my view.

But worse than that was despite me telling them I was diagnosed and no longer needed HRT 6 months ago, they have just emailed me an invoice for an HRT prescription. Both insensitive and incompetent.

I’m sure Newson Health have helped many people but I had to return to the NHS when the serious stuff started.

I cannot recommend highly enough . Their Customer Service is first class. Having listened to Dr Louise Newson’ podcast on the Zoe app I booked a full Consultation with Dr E Arnold a Menopause Specialist . There was no hard sell. She was so knowledgeable, a great listener and was very thorough answering all my questions and explaining all options . Overnight everything was put in place for me to start HRT and my prescription is on its way . I have booked a follow up in 4 months time . You know you are in good hands . Thank you Newson Health .

Very disappointing service

I’ve turned to Newson health when I was in desperate need of help trying to cope with how I was feeling. I saw the founder of the practice on TV and thought I would get good service for the money I would pay. I was seen by a lovely doctor she was really caring and responded to my emails when I had questions without any issues. Of course I would have questions because I was taking new medication that was really scary, she was great at making me feel calm and safe. She sadly went on maternity leave and things were never the same. Nearly a year on and I am still struggling REALLY struggling. I had a very simple question in Aug because I forgot to take my Utrogestan tablets. I was terrified because I did not know if I should double the next dosage or not. This lead to me being so worried I would get cancer. I sent an email to just ask that simple question what I need to do. I received a response that I need to pay £50 to have a 10min call with a nurse, or £165 Or £230 just to get this help. I was so shocked at this point I had already spent a few £230 sessions and still not feeling great! I’ve left it and carried on in fear. It is quite expensive and I’ve hope I would feel better by now. I have a little daughter I so badly want to feel better for her, it’s important. With all this additional stress I now just struggling through trying to accept I may have to feel this awful now for years to come. To constantly pay that amount of money and not feel confident going away after the consultation is not good. Not being able to reach out to my GP for help is not good either. I feel totally helpless. I miss Dr Ruth so much, she cared and genuinely tried to help. If I got the same service and value and care I would pay the money. It is not the same anymore I’m totally forgotten about and it just feels like it’s all about paying as much money for nothing at the moment. I am told someone will get back to me and a couple of times they never do I have to follow up but in the meantime I’m feeling pretty awful. I had such high hopes that I would finally get the help I need and a year on I’m still struggling.
