Don't Trust Them!
Yes this is a scam on top of the original scam! I already had my Big 3 credit agencies Frozen but still TransUnion allowed my info to be hacked. Just like others say here, I followed the instructions in TU's snail mail letter, finally got to the *legitimate* trueidentity website, gave them all my info (reluctantly), and got an error message telling me to try again OR call a #. So, I called. A woman with very poor English answered and asked for my email and phone #. I asked why she needed that as they can't verify something they don't yet have. She said "so I can call you if the call is dropped". Using fear here? No, I said, if the call is dropped I will call YOU back. After repeating this same conversation yet again, she finally said "Well, I can't help you then". I told her she was scamming me and I hung up. Miracle of miracles! A split second later SHE called me back. Hmmmm thought she didn't have my #. I will surely be hacked yet again by these scammers.

I received a letter from Transunion about the security breach and what information of mine was compromised. I went to the Transunion website could not get in it said I have been blocked. Next day same thing
third day same thing. I called the number for Transunion 24 minutes later I was connected to an a rep and after a conversation that ended up with 2 new phone numbers to call one for mytrueidentity and one for getting an answer for why I was blocked after I got off the phone I realized that the second number was the one I had just called! On the fourth day bingo! I'm able to log in to the Transunion website like nothing happened. So that was good. I decided to go to the mytrueidentity website My
screen says site not secure I am at risk entering the site! You can't make this stuff up! I tried 2 more times checking to make sure I had the spelling correct same thing. After that I tried a few more times and it just redirected me to the Transunion website. After that I abandoned any attempt to proceed further into the "woods" with this.

Web site won't take my information no matter how many times I've tried. I have two years' monitoring because of yet another data breach. My old account has been cancelled and I am unable to create a new one. This has to be the worst site for data security. You can't even be sure trueidentity.com is even a valid site given all the problems encountered.
Disband this corrupt company
Disband this corrupt company. I received a letter from Transunion stating that my information was breached. I got no help from Transunion. I was told to use the website for free monitoring and other services due to the breach. I was unable to connect with anyone who could not speak clear English. They were rude, I was hung up on twice then given 4 other numbers to call. The only websites were for services to be paid by the party that was breached. There was not one website dealing with my problem or any place to enter a code that was provided by Transunion for extra credit monitoring. This is nothing more than an elaborate scam by Transunion and should be addressed by the FTC!

I have attempted to register for my free account for over three days. I've been placed on hold for over three hours after calling multiple phone numbers and chats. TOTALLY a waste of time and effort between True Identity and Transunion! I am just giving up! There is no customer service just recordings and being placed on hold! I'll just my credit locked and utilize other resources for credit monitoring!!!!!!!!!!!
Horrible customer service
Horrible customer service. First, they make sure you can't set up an account because "We were unable to verify your identity." So you have to call a number. I was on hold forever and when a rep finally answered, he proceeded to have a conversation with someone in the background while I kept saying "Hello?". When he finally decided to pay me some attention, I told him they seemed too unprofessional, thanked him and hung up.

Small Hiccup but I got it working
I did my research first to ensure the letter I received from TransUnion regarding the data breach was legitimate and it was. I was concerned seeing all the bad reviews recently for this service and I did run into the same issue of mytrueidentity not being able to match my information to my Transunion account. However, when I called the number, he deactivated the account I attempted to create, gave me a new code and it worked.
Transunion & my true identity con game
Same as anyone trying to register at Transunion’s behest. It cannot be done. Would be nice if a government entity investigated Transunion for this public con.
Can’t set up “free” account
Received 2 different letters with 2 different codes. Tried to set up first one but got an error for my password even thought it met all criteria. Called in and was told it was because I already had an account which he then deleted. Still didn’t work, blamed it on my Mac was told to use a neighbors or just put a freeze on my account and there was nothing else he could do. I used a neighbors PC and got the same error. Have been on hold for 58 minutes, good thing I used speaker phone. Wonder how much these companies are paying for this “service”? This company is part of TransUnion, wonder how secure all of our financial data is with this company?

If I could give this site I zero, I would. TransUnion should be ashamed of themselves. This service isn't worth the paper they mailed to me. It's a shame. I tried to setup account and after multiple attempts, was told they couldn't find me. So, I called the number given to me and after over an hour of waiting on hold, no one has picked up yet. I never leave review but just had to express how unhappy I am with TransUnion. First they breach my data and now they waste my time with this shame of a company to monitor my credit.

I've spent about a half hour trying to log into the site, 10 minutes of it with assistance from a customer service rep. Still can't log in. Was transferred to a 2nd level support person and am awaiting a call back. I'm not optimistic.
This entire experience screams SCAM outfit
waited for a rep, when i got one, he had a thick accent. I asked where he was located, he replied Phillipines. I hung up immediately. also noticed my cell phone camera was ON. (a little green dot in upper right hand corner. I have never seen that before with any of my phones.) I'l for get about this "free" service and just put another fraud-alert on my credit info.

After being given an activation code and told to register for free forc24 months due to a Cyber Breech on TransUnion involving my Data, after putting in the CODE and Filling out EVERYTHING it told me THEY COULD NOT ACCESS ME. ARE YOU JOKING??? This is sick. I just put a credit freeze on all 3 consumer agencies EQUIFAX EXPERIAN AND TRANSUNION then put a FRAUD ALERT in all Agencies so they are aware my SSN AND DOB have been compromised. My True Identity is a Rotten ridicules joke. It is already stressful to be frauded. But then to offer help then be denied it just ridicules.

Offered 24 mo of free credit monitoring due to data breach. Bad website, terrible customer service. After a few hours, 4 calls to customer service, still unable to register and set up account. Unable to log on. Was told by service rep that their site is working fine, it's just that due to customer volume, most customers are unable to log on. So, that's their definition of "working" I guess.

Worst of the worst
This service is a joke. They did the absolute minimum to address a major data breach and made it all but impossible to sign up for the mytrueidentity service. I called the number listed when they didn't have "enough information" to enroll me online. That number had a message to call another number. After an hour hold, the rep told me to call the first number again. This is the worst company I've ever tried to use.
