Outstanding refund
Ordered a wheeled strimmer on the 20/3/26, paid £312 . I cancelled it on 21/3/26 , the staff member (Sally ) emailed me confirming she would cancel order with accounts. I then ordered a mower from Compass/ mower direct . This was duly paid for and delivered by Dpd all good there. Despite numerous emails l still haven’t got my £312 back . I don’t think l would use again due to the amount of emails and time20+ days to be refunded . Brad from Compass machinery, one and the same company he organised refund ( thank you Brad), A few days after refund the wheeled strimmer arrived contacted Mowdirect requesting they arranged collection, did receive a call to inform me collection would be arranged. Call from them to get strimmer back was quicker than any contact l received for my refund.

This company's practices in my opinion are not great, and you should check their terms and conditions. In my case they had items listed as I. Stock and took payment, they even sent me an email confirming it had been picked and was with the delivery partner.......only a day later they emailed saying that there was a problem with stock and I would no longer be recieving the item as they didn't have any.
No communication leading to higher incurred costs and it appears down to they just want to sell you an item and then will worry about it they have stock later and with emails and automatic process that are either badly managed or downright tell you lies.
I would avoid.

Ordered a chainsaw paid for it didnt get any sort of email confirmation phoned then the next day and they told me the chainsaw is out of stock! Why take my money if the item is out of stock now having trouble getting a refund of these guys Evan though they say it should be in my account today. Today came and went still no refund!

Spectrum TG51SE from Mow Direct
At the end of the mowing season I confirm that the Spectrum mower purchased in March is an excellent machine. The collection box could be bigger but overall this mower is as good or better than more well known brands that I have used in the past. The Mow Direct friendly advice and recommendation of the Spectrum brand influenced my purchase and I am delighted with the results.

Lack of communication
I ordered the mower From Mowdirect’s website on Wednesday 29 May 2024. I didn’t receive any confirmation of my order so I telephoned their help line on 31 May. I was told by the female who answered my call that the order had just gone through and I would receive an email over the weekend. No email arrived.
The Mower arrived on Monday 3 June unannounced. I was expecting a call or an email giving me some indication when it would arrive. Their website stated that I would be informed, just as well I was at home.
It was so well packed that it took me the rest of the day to unpack which involved the complete destruction of the two pallets plus wood and cardboard packaging. I had wanted to order the Premium Delivery Service specifically to avoid this hassle but it wasn’t available at the checkout without any explanation as to why not.
I tried the mower the next day and the engine cut out after about 5 minutes, as I’d only put a small amount of petrol into the tank I assumed it had run out. I put some more petrol in and the same happened. It seemed to me that the fuel cap was not venting so I tried loosening the cap. The engine then ran okay except that every time I moved in the seat the engine faltered. This was caused by the cut-out under the seat being too sensitive. I found that the action of depressing the brake/clutch to select the required gears caused the seat to lift enough to stop the engine.
The Mowdirect website said they had experts to give advice etc so I telephoned and was told that they didn’t have resident experts and I had to send an email to explain my problems. The reply to this email came back saying their MD had the same problem with his Snapper and he mows with the cap loose, not ideal. A new fuel cap was promised under the warranty but when it arrived it was too small. The correct fuel cap was promised and has so far not arrived.
Despite all the promises on Mowdirect website they do not follow up with anything useful. More or less sell it and forget it.
If I knew then what I know now I wouldn’t have bought this ride on.
Never again will I use Mowdirect.

Brilliant people, helpful kind and straightforward to communicate with. Bought a nice scarifier that was delivered and packaged great! Will recommend highly.
Extremely poor delivery company.
Ordered a new replacement petrol lawnmower, product was at a good purchase price made better with the additional 10% discount. Have bought several products from Mow Direct previously, on this occasion the delivery service was appalling. Received a telephone call to say that the mower would be delivered on the Tuesday and that someone had to be in to receive it, waited in all Tuesday and no delivery arrived. Phoned the delivery company and they stated that the agent had not ticked the correct box therefore the delivery was not scheduled!! They said they could deliver on the Thursday but again someone had to be here to receive the goods, I couldn’t be around all day so asked for it to be delivered on Saturday which they said would be arranged. We had just arrived back home on Friday afternoon, the phone rang and it was the delivery driver stating that he was lost. Gave him the directions which had already been given to the company. The driver arrived and attempted to off load the pallet without moving another large pallet in the back of his truck, eventually he managed to off load the pallet onto my gravel drive. Asked driver if he could take pallet back? He refused thus request. Not a very good delivery experience, if we hadn’t got back home early on the Friday afternoon the mower wouldn’t have been able to be delivered. Unfortunately this delivery problem reflects on Mow Direct.

Easy to order
Easy to order, speedy delivery and competitive price - the leaf blower is for use on school grounds - powerful enough to do what is needed and small enough to store securely.

I placed an order with Mow Direct website for a Spectrum Lawnmower, I got order confirmation emails from Mow Direct the same day.
When I called for an order update the call was answered as "Good Morning Compass" !
so I asked if they were the same Company I was told that they were not the same but they had offices in the same building... ??
However, the courier company called me to arrange a delivery from Compass Garden Machinery, and when it arrived, the delivery note attached to the box was branded as Compass ????
Why would they mislead the public like this ??
Nevertheless, in their favour, the goods I ordered were delivered on time and were as described (but assembly instructions are not very good, the pictures are really blurred and grainy which didnt help us with the assembly)
I just didn't need the stress\worry of not knowing if these companies were reliable or trustworthy given the inaccuracies mentioned above, and whether or not I had spent hard earned cash on a possible scam website
