Didn't even turn up, and no way to contact cleaner as phone was off. Customer service couldn't do anything and basically only can offer a refund. Waste of time and not worth anyone's time. Funny their... Mehr ansehen

cleaner did not show up

Have used mopp in the past but today will be the last time. Cleaner did not show up even though the booking was done a week in advance. Called customer service who said the cleaner was sick - tough to believe since she had called up the previous night to get directions. Mopp did not even bother to inform or reschedule. When pressed, offered to reschedule to 3 days later but asked me to keep the time flexible since they could not guarantee a time but only a date. Gave up after that and asked for a refund. Will need to check when that will happen...

Terrible

Previously cancelled a booking because they couldnt process the card payment (nothing wrong with the card).

Yesterdday, changed my booking from Friday morning to Saturday morning which is completely inconvenient and useless for me.

DONT USE THEM.

Bad customer service, high staff turnover

Initially, I had a very reliable, hard-working cleaner from Mopp, but she left because I believe she had some issues with the company's policies with regard to client's who repeatedly don't provide access to the property to be cleaned.

Without even a call, they sent a new lady, and then for the next booking a different one and for the third booking wanted to send another new cleaner. I then called them up to say I did not want different cleaners for cleaning the same house week after week, so they said they will confirm if they can send a permanent replacement - but they will let me know before sending somebody - only to let somebody arrive at my home without me being present.

On the next occasion another new lady, which was hard-working, but still she was not to be the regular cleaner. And then they let her go because of what to me sounds like an administrative/booking error issue.

They really cannot keep hard-working people for long, but some of the ladies I've had is clearly not trained so left half the work for me to do. And if you have an issue that customer service have to resolve, it's a nightmare. It's difficult to speak to somebody, it's difficult to get a call back from them if you have an issue that needs to be resolved before they send somebody out to your house and they thought it would be OK to tell a perfect stranger where I leave a key for my regular cleaner, so a she could enter my house. All in all a shame, because I think they are paying a fair share of the fees over to the cleaners actually doing the work.

great service

I was sceptical at first of using an online service like this for hiring a cleaner, but it has been by far the easiest experience of hiring a cleaner I've ever had in many decades of hiring. In addition, the cleaner they sent me is very hard-working and only had to be shown once how we like things done. She is pleasant to have around and does an excellent job. They are very responsive whenever I need to make any changes and the website makes it even easier. I immediately receive an email in response to any question or change. Based on my experience, I highly recommend them.

Terrible Cleaners

The first cleaner that came from this company was amazing however, I was unable to book her again, I tried to request her but each time the comapny changed it to someone else! The next three different cleaners we have had were terrible, really basic things such as vaccuming the rooms, putting out the bins etc hadn't been done. I will not be using this company again!

Cleaner didn't show up, no compensation what-so-ever

Do not use this 3rd party to book a cleaner. My cleaner didn't show up to my 7:00am appointment. When I called (after being on hold for 10 minutes) the Mopp team offered a reschedule 2 days later or a refund - zero compensation for the inconvenience they caused me, their mistake and obvious mismanagement (mistreatment?) of their staff. If they had offered a free cleaning as compensation or had worked to reschedule a cleaner on the same day I would have considered using them again. Now, I definitely will not. They obviously do not value their customers/new business at all.

Poor service

My response to Mopp, having been told that I must have a smile on my face after my clean
(Funny that the cleaner did not turn up)

I have used Mopp for about 4 months, because I'm often not at home, one off cleans work very well for me as I don't need a full time cleaner.

The first cleaners I used were OK, some variability in the work achieved in the time allocated, but that Is too be expected.

However since September, 3 booked cleans have resulted in 3 No Shows, only one of which reported to me by Mopp, with the last 2, the cleaner just did not turn up. And Mopp took the money anyway, so it was down to me to chase credits/refunds etc etc.

It looks to me if Mopps vetting procedures are lacking, one no show might be acceptable, but 3 indicates to me that you are having problems

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!

They are horrifically disorganised and simply use sub contractors so they have no control over exactly what they are selling. They send you a confirmation email and take payment but then it means nothing! In fact, someone told me in these very words 'yes ignore the your booking is confirmed email- it means nothing and just means we will try and find you a cleaner'!! Yet they will debit your card straight away. Complete scam and complete mockery of customer service. I am so shocked at how terrible this service is. I would highly recommend Mr Banana instead who are reliable and with whom you can actually speak to a human who cares - they saved my skin following being 100% let down by Mopp. DO NOT GIVE THESE PEOPLE BUSINESS- THEY DO NOT DESERVE IT!

Very positive first experience!

So, after booking my first appointment for today earlier this week, I had my reservations after reading all of the negative comments on here. So much so that I contacted Mopp/Handy support about it. They assured me that they're doing everything they can to resolve the issues reported here.
Nevertheless, I always like to judge a service on its own merits, so went ahead with today's 4 hour booking anyway.
I'm very glad I did. The cleaner arrived 15 minutes early, was very courteous, and did an excellent job. She even added some lovely touches like folding my kids' blankets (that they'd left stewn) into a nice little pattern, and even folded the end of the toilet paper into a point, like they do in good hotels.
I have nothing but praise for Justyna, she did an excellent job.
The reason for only giving four stars rather than five, is that after only one visit, things could still go wrong, for instance if the company decides to switch my cleaner or screw up the schedules - which I hope they don't.
Only time will tell, however, after the first visit, I'm very pleased.
(Meanwhile, I'm aware that after receiving a good service we, as consumers tend to not always write a review, but after poor service we tend to shout from the rooftops, so that may explain the bias towards negative reviews here.)

£40 for nothing

I used Mopp earlier in the year for a one-off clean, and they were fantastic. When I needed to replace our regular cleaner I thought Mopp would be an easy choice. However...

- they cancelled the 9.30am Friday booking after 9pm on Thursday night, saying they would reschedule me for the Monday (useless as I'd booked time off work to meet the new cleaner on Friday, and couldn't do so again on the Monday)

- they then sent an email on the Friday morning saying my next booking was the next Friday, so I assumed that contrary to the night before they had not actually rebooked me for the Monday

- they then emailed me with details of the cleaner coming on Monday (which was a surprise!) after 5pm on Sunday - too late to cancel without incurring a £20 fee. I had to cancel anyway as I wouldn't be at home to let the cleaner in

Meanwhile, 2 lots of £20 left my account, for absolutely no service whatsoever.

Mopp's marketing is good, but it doesn't live up to its own hype. I'll look elsewhere for a reliable regular cleaner.

Having now read reviews here from people who worked for them, it seems they treat their cleaners with even less respect than their customers. Another reason to avoid!

Left us Moping

Firstly, the lady was 1.5 hours late. Secondly, the excuse she gives is that she missed some buses due to rain. Now even a traveller like me knows that the weather in London is very unpredictable and this excuse just can't be bought. Now let's come to the cleaning bit. The interest wasnt fully into the job. Yes, she was chatty and trying to have a good time but that was it. Left us quite dissatisfied.

UNRELIABLE, DIDN'T SHOW UP FOR FIRST APPOINTMENT

After two telephone calls in which they told me that the cleaner was late and that I should be patient, I called the company a third time (2 hours after the agreed time) and a different customer service person, who did not have any idea about my previous two calls, told me that the cleaner will not show up and that she did not have any idea of the reason. I needed really help with the cleaner that day, because I was waiting people and the time was not enough to clean and cook, and this company failed me. First and last time that I will try this company!

RUBBISH-UNRELIABLE DIDN'T SHOW UP FOR FIRST APPOINTMENT

I thought I would try this service and booked online. When I booked I requested that my own cleaning materials are used but when I got to the payment stage it had added £5 for cleaning materials.
I booked a 2 hour clean but the cleaner didn't show up.
I have requested a full refund. Wouldn't use again on principal. Waste of time. AVOID

Time wasters, avoid at all costs!

I applied for a cleaning job with Mopp and came to their office for my orientation. Towards the end of the 2.5 hour presentation, we (myself and the others applying to be cleaners) were left waiting while the office staff held a conference call and popped bottles of champagne. I struggled to get the app to work on my phone and was told i'd be called the next day to sort it all out.
I left and when i got home was really happy to see that i had an email saying i was now a verified Handy cleaner and could start claiming jobs. I cancelled the two other job interviews i had.
Still unable to get the app to work i waited for a call all the next day. When it didn't come i emailed over the next two days a total of 3 times, the final time i emailed my concerns at the lack of communication i was receiving.
I then received a very curt response saying that i didn't have enough experience and wasn't being taken on. Having already been told i'd got the position i thought a mistake had been made so emailed back highlighting this fact and the fact that i have over 4 years professional domestic cleaning experience. Another few days went by so i emailed again and got another curt response saying the decision was final.
Now if i'm not right for a position and i am told that's fair enough. To be told that i have got a job and then when i express concerns about communication for it to be taken away is really terrible. I gave up two other interviews as i'd been told i got the job.
In my opinion everyone's time is valuable from a cleaner to a doctor and to treat people in this way isn't right so please avoid Mopp in the future and choose a company that treats people with the respect they deserve.

Awful customer experience

I'm currently on hold to Mopp and have been for 30 minutes, after my cleaner was denied entry into my building and Mopp waited 50 minutes into the booking to call me. When they did call me they left a voicemail with no direct dial number and told me if I didn't resolve the access issue in 10 minutes the cleaner would leave. That was 45 minutes ago, 30 minutes of which I've been on hold to their new call centre.

Don't use Mopp if you want a consistent, reliable cleaning service with great support.

The worst company I have ever dealt with

With family visiting shortly and wanting more time with my family than cleaning the house, I booked a five hour clean with Mopp a month ago for yesterday. I planned that, once the initial deep clean was done, I would have a fortnightly clean for two hours from Mopp.

On Sunday I arranged for family to come down to look after my stepdaughter, and left my partner in the house to wait for the cleaner while I went out. After half an hour my partner told me the cleaner hadn't appeared. It then took me two hours to get through to Mopp, all while I was out for lunch - trying via email and phone, all while trying not to be antisocial with the people I was out with!

Two hours after the cleaner should have turned up, I finally got through to someone, I was told that apparently the cleaner was not coming and Mopp were aware of this - yet they were still happy to take the payment from me and didn't have the courtesy to actually tell me that they would not be attending! I asked for a refund and got an empty apology about how "someone should have rung me" - yes, they should have! A day completely wasted and ruined by Mopp. Utterly disappointing and terrible staff organisation on their behalf.

Avoid at all costs.

EDIT:
Just received an email from Leo at Mopp claiming that "I have been told that Mopp don't operate in my area any more".

This is interesting because
a) I was told that my cleaner wasn't coming because of an "emergency" (one that Mopp knew about but didn't tell me about!)
b) They are still happily taking bookings for my postcode on the site

The email closes with Leo saying not to contact him because he's going on out of office - great! Yet more awful customer service :( I just want my money back - it still hasn't been refunded.

Inconsistent, with poor customer service

Really wanted to like this company and tried several cleaners as each time I found one I liked, she was never available for the proposed regular slot (despite being available the first time round).

Final straw was not 1 but 2 non shows, with absolutely no communication from either Mopp or cleaner.

Based on my experience over a course of 4 weeks, I'd advise to steer clear.

No Show

I normally don't write reviews, unless I experience something very good or very bad. Another thing I tend to is not to listen to other reviews, which I should have done in this case.

The cleaner called 20 mins after she was supposed to be at the address to explain that she was not gonna make it without further explanation.

The functionality and design of the site is very good, but the team behind it and the services they provide bad(in this case non existing)

Do yourself a favor, listen to the reviews and AVOID at all costs.

This cleaning company is a joke! Will never use them again

I booked Mopp 3 months ago as I urgently needed a regular English speaking cleaner. I cant belive it has taken me so long to cancel. The service is a joke. Nobody ever answers the phone, their cleaners keep leaving, they arrive late without any notification and turn up when they are not supposed to.

In this day and age service is key but Mopp don't think so. I am cancelling with Mopp and would advise nobody to use them
