Do they even care?

The delay in processing my order wouldn't be a big deal except that the two customer service representative's I've spoken to don't care, at all. I've worked in customer service and I know how frustrating it is to deal with complaints for hours on end, but that doesn't me you become apathetic. There has been no, zero, attempt at making me feel like my business is worth their time, and that it s a sign of a company that doesn't care anymore.

I've been shopping ModCloth since 2010 and I've always loved their style and aesthetic. I've never had trouble with their processing, shipping or returns even during holiday time periods. I don't even mind their higher end prices. But this year, it is a whole different story. I ordered on the 27th, its now the 8th with no movement of the order into shipping.

I spoke to someone on the 5th and the 7th. The person on the 5th said it should ship by the 7th and the person on the 7th wasn't hopeful that it would ship by the 11th. That's just it being shipped (two weeks past the point of order).

At that point we are in the swing of the full holiday season and if the postal service gets backed up (which it does basically every year) it could be another week before I see my package. That's three weeks to see things that were ordered from a place that is a literal 12 hour drive from me.

And that's being optimistic that I will see it by then. In addition, they are now advertising that to receive something by the 24th order before the 13th. How about you finish with sales placed in November before you promise any sort of delivery before Christmas?

Stay Away From Modcloth!

I ordered two dresses from Modcloth a week ago and was informed last night (nearly a week after ordering) that, due to a high volume of orders, my order had not shipped. No date was given as to when it would be shipped; however, Modcloth offered to take 10% off of my order (a slap in the face, really). Modcloth had nearly a week to notify me of this issue, thereby enabling me time enough to find something else. However, less than 24 hours prior to the event for which the dresses were purchased isn't enough time to fix things. Modcloth is a sorry excuse for a clothing company- with unethical and unacceptable business practices. I will never purchase anything from Modcloth again.

Really angry now.

Really angry now. According to tracking, order has without any explanation been returned to sender. I have tried all avenues to contact company with no response. I want a refund now as this experience and level of service is unacceptable. Treat this site with caution.

My order was created 9 days ago and still has not shipped. I am not going to receive some of the items in time for what I bought them for (gifts). Some were "final sale."

Broken and used shoes delivered

Ordered a pair of shoes as a Christmas gift. Received the package and shoes are obviously worn from someone else. The bottoms are dirty and have a piece of what I am assuming is grass on them. One of the heels are broken and missing the bottom piece. You can see the hollow of the heels. Will not be shopping here again.

Won't order again - ANCIENT & inflexible picking system

I've only ordered twice, this second time is my last. My order has been sitting for over a week and still hasn't shipped. I've asked if I can pay to expedite the shipping, so that at least once it -is- shipped it doesn't have to go ground, but it turns out they cannot change an order after it has been placed (there's a 60-minute window for changes and cancellations after you place the order, and that's it). Yes, this means if THEY take forever to process, you don't even have to option to pay extra to receive sooner. They literally can't do anything except cancel it. I contacted customer service 3 times and got the same excuses and apologies, and finally just asked to cancel the order since it's clear I won't receive it in time (dress for a party) and they can't even do anything about it.

\/\/\/ this was the exact response I got from every customer service agent all 3 times I had to contact you guys. The first time I totally understood, but 5 days later it is getting stale. And if it's going to take you guys a week-and-a-half just to process an order, your system should be able to let people pay to expedite the shipping.

If you guys have enough money on-hand to have your on-line customer service watch out for bad reviews like hawks and respond in less than 24 hrs, you have enough money on-hand to fix up your messed up system and prep for holiday rushes. From the outside, it just looks like you guys care more about what people say about your Snapchats vs how good your actual service is.

4 out of my last 5 orders have been…

4 out of my last 5 orders have been wrong and customer service ranged from incompetent to outright rude. I've been ordering for years spending thousands of dollars but no more. I've had orders cancelled, been sent wrong items, had items missing and had orders sent very late. Clothing overall is nice, but not worth the hassle. Sad from a company I used to love and recommend to friends.

*edit in response to the reply I received. It is because of your customer care team that you have lost a customer. Stating "I'm sorry you feel that way" and making no suggestions as to how you are going to fix a problem in response to valid complaints from a loyal customer is not acceptable. I don't expect things to be perfect every time and understand it's a busy time of year. But I do except to be listened to without condescension especially when it took so long to reach customer service in the first place.

Terrible experience the second time around

I never had been too into the style of ModCloth, but back in April 2018 I ordered 2 pairs of high-waisted leggings. They were $20 leggings, which is high, but they qualified for the 2 for 30% off discount. They arrived and were wonderful– not see through, thick, and high quality– and well worth $20. I wear them so often that I decided to order two more pair of the same leggings this November 2018.

When I went to order in November, the 2 for 30% off discount wasn't being automatically applied to my cart. I chatted with customer service and they said these don't qualify for this discount. I explained that they did in April and all the other pairs of leggins qualify, so why don't these only 7 months later. They applied the discount to my cart, so I very happily ordered them again.

They finally arrived and within a couple days I wore them to work without thinking about it, as I had done with the April ones many times before. Only to realize, once I got to work and went into the bathroom, how see through these November ones are. I was stuck wearing them all day at work. They were everything that the others weren't– see through, thin, and cheap feeling. They felt like the $5 ones at Forever 21. Just really terrible.

I printed the return label and wanted to write a review on the website warning others that while older reviews might be good (I, myself, would have given them a 5-star review in April), the new ones they are sending out are definitely not the same leggings. The system wouldn't let me post the review.

Maybe if it were only one issue during this process, I wouldn't be writing this review. But not only did they try to cheap out with removing the discount, they are sending out cheaper quality leggings that once were great, and also aren't allowing people to post reviews. I'm very unhappy with this entire process, and I won't be shopping with ModCloth again.

Don’t just don’t

PMy daughter bought a present for a friend that was never delivered. The company gave my daughter store credit minus shipping and taxes. For a product never delivered. Tried to talk to online person and they STOPPED chatting as soon as she explained the issue. No phone response. Will be writing this on every site I can until they REFUND her money in full. Not store credit. Do NOT order here! They again refunded her money in store credit only. Still had to pay shipping, even though product was never delivered, and charged tax twice, and shipping. With bad review and phone calls. And we did call. Don’t pretend you helped. I’m updating. Still charged tax twice, for product not delivered and no response after phone message. Had to reorder same product hopefully delivered and not losing more money. Read this, this company will not give your money back. Even if they screw up.

unusable discount code…

cancelled my order because the discount code did not work. i received the november catalog on november 12...but the code was only for OCTOBER. that makes no sense at all, and is WILDLY misleading.

This company is a scam

This company is a scam. I ordered an expensive dress and when I decided I didn't want it and sent it back, they claimed they haven't gotten it.
I tracked it and it's in US with them, and I sent it back in April. Now it's September and I still haven't gotten my money back.
Do not trust them with your money, they will take it and not give it back.
I am so deeply disappointed.

Expensive, False Advertisement

I go to ModCloth frequently because their Dream of the Crop cardigans are the only sweaters that will fit my /tiny/ shoulders, but I always buy them on clearance. Their prices are high (thirty dollars for half of a cardigan?) and you have to spend a lot to get the free shipping. They also have way too many sale items that are marked "final sale, no returns," when their sizes are not consistent whatsoever, so you're basically spending $60 on something that may or may not fit. I've contacted them a couple of times (one was a while back, I don't remember the details, but I got a notification about a sale that didn't actually exist, or was expired, or something, even though it was still within the day). I contacted them today as well because I received their magazine in the mail, which clearly states in multiple places "free shipping" with no code to use. I asked them, and they just kept saying "it's free shipping on orders over $75," even though this is not what their advertisement said. Both times I contacted them they basically just said "that sucks" and moved on with their day, no intentions of helping or honoring the free shipping that their magazine /literally/ promised. I'm really not happy with the way they run their business, but will unfortunately return until I can find another cardigan that fits me right.

LOVE Modcloth.com. Bad reviews are undeserved.

Not sure how these guys have such a low score. I find the issues with ModCloth are not really related to ModCloth. They carry many independent labels. Some items I've purchased weren't great quality. However, the ModCloth label and certain brands they partner with are exceptional. I keep track of the brands I love and fit my body best. Their return and exchange policy is GREAT! That truly makes up for many sins.
As for shipping, I see most of the complaints are related to international shipments. In the US they use FedEx to USPS, which I love! My package was lost and shipping was delayed. I called FedEx directly. They found my package that day! My only drama was with FedEx, NOT ModCloth. I think ModCloth and other sites take a lot of the heat for carrier issues. Amazon has ruined everyone's patience for normal ground shipping.

Don't understand the bad reviews

I honestly don't understand why ModCloth has so many negative reviews, I was expecting the exact opposite. I first started shopping on ModCloth in 2010 and have, over the course of 8 years, spend thousands of dollars on goods from there and have never had a problem. I do agree that their sizing can be a bit strange but it's mainly because ModCloth sells many different brands of clothing, a lot of them being retro companies too and retro sizes are always all over the place, make sure to read reviews first! ModCloth's own label pieces run true to size and are always the best quality, I haven't even had any of my pieces rip, tear, or ruin. They're expensive, but very much worth it!

zero f-s given -- no dress/shirt/necklace is cute enough for this.

my order hasn't even been processed for shipping yet and i already hate this shopping experience. i placed an order and 12 hours later received an email that there was a super sale so logged on to see if they would credit me the $4 -- 4! -- difference. the agents are pleasant to talk to, but the only thing they say is "no, we can't help you. super sorry about it! =(". she was not the first agent i talked to regarding the order and i unfortunately think she won't be the last. i hope when i receive the items that nothing works and they get to pay for me to return them. this has been a supremely terrible experience and there are not enough overpriced cute clothes in the world to make me a returning customer.

Nice looking cloths but they never got …

Nice looking cloths but they never got here. They use Asendia as a courier in Australia and Asendia's rating is a 1 star because they are always late and often loose the package. While I am really sad that I ordered a Christmas dress over a month ago and it is now Christmas Eve and it never arrived I am even more upset that Modcloth can see the courier isn't any good and have not changed their policy or partnership to someone more reliable. While I did get a coupon and was told I would be refunded if my order hasn't shown up by Jan 4th (that's another 2 weeks) There is NO reason for a package from America to take 6 weeks. Spending 4 days in the same place 2 times (according to the tracker) is really shotty work.
