What happened to this company?? About 7 years ago, they had the cutest 1950 fashions, like Grace Kelly elegant. This is a completely different online platform with awful clothes. They have ran this company into the ground!!! What a change for the worst.

Are they just a scam??????

I made 3 orders in January and yet have not received one yet.
You have to wonder if this place is just a huge scam?
Admittedly I am an international customer, but taking into account I paid for Express postage, I’ve found that Mod cloth is the worst retailer I have ever shopped with.

Took my money and never delivered

I ordered from Modcloth and never received my order, even after two months of waiting. Emails to customer service were never answered. I eventually disputed the charge with my credit card company and had my money refunded. Used to shop here all the time. I'll never order from them again.

Will never order again

I ordered something from ModCloth In December and it still hasn’t shipped! Today is March 6. I’ve emailed them twice and both times they have been rude and treated me like I should expect it to ship whenever and not be upset that it’s been over two months.

Ordered 1/2/24 no product, no update, no trust in Modcloth

Ordered Jan 2nd and paid typical shipping.
They knew of warehouse moving and problems. At checkout had a reasonable delay with date listed. They removed that date and have since changed info and banners many times to try to discredit customer claims of deception.
They lied and said they sent customer email updates. They did not. They then only when solicited via email gave approximate dates. My last update was shipping on 2/29. It's 2/29 and no shipping confirmation was sent. So I reached out, again no update from the company. They now stated in writing a shipping date of 3/30/24. Remember I ordered on Jan 2nd and only because they were promoting a sale to clear product prior to moving warehouses with a reasonable shipping date. They have put many excuses online and have actively gaslit customers. Their social media team keeps giving wildly varying information or stating they are "in the dark". What a mess. Untrustworthy company.

Still waiting on an order from January…

Still waiting on an order from January 6th. Emails have been ignored. I think they are just going out of business and keeping all of the money as they are STILL taking orders that they can not ship. I have LONG since paid that credit card bill.

Extreme shipping delays

I ordered in early January, and it still has not been shipped. I reached out a few times about it and they keep saying the warehouse is being moved, but the date that shipping is expecting to resume keeps being pushed back. Originally it was 2 weeks, then 1/30, now I’m seeing reviews here that people are being told it’ll be 2/29. I’ll give them a few days to update me and if they still refuse to ship, I will need to file a chargeback on my credit card. scam company.

Poor shipping status and customer…

Poor shipping status and customer service. I have ordered a few items before from Modcloth and shipping status has never been great which is why I gave them two stars. I recently purchased two dresses on Feb 2 for a wedding on March 16, so I thought plenty of time. Modcloth's standard shipping is ground economy which means the shipping status is not going to be great, but after 18 days of not seeing the shipping status change and no notice from the company, I reached out to Modcloth customer service. Their response was "We apologize for any inconvenience caused by the delay in shipping and any missed messages during checkout. Our warehouse is currently undergoing a move, which has resulted in temporary shipping delays. However, we have been advised that shipping will resume by approximately 02/29/2024." No where did their website indicate there was a possible shipping delay so the customer could decide to order or not (some folks may not have a deadline). I asked for expedited shipping and received this response "Due to our warehouse moving, we are currently not offering expedited shipping. We are also unable to make any changes to an order after it's been submitted." While shipping on 2/29 would still get the dress to me in 7-14 days (if the shipping estimate date is correct and nothing occurs with the carrier), that is too close to the date I need the dress and I would not have had a chance to try it in time to exchange. I requested a refund, and I am not sure I will use this site again when there are many clothing options out there

Quality went down along with customer service

I ordered from a sale they had on 12/29. They said they would be delayed due to a warehouse move. The delay was a month or so. The site is now selling nearly everything I ordered at full price. I decided to check on my order and was told the delay would be ANOTHER month and I could cancel and get a refund. I'm just speculating but I believe they were trying to bankroll some money for their shipping delay by offering everything really reduced. Now that want to wait us out and see if we will cancel so they can get full price.
Update 1: They pushed my ship date to 2/29 and now the new ship date is 3/20. I have trouble believing that new orders are all being pushed months in advance too.
Update 2: As I mentioned above, they have pushed my ship date to 3/20 (this update was written 3/23). Still nothing. No updates no extra info. I was offered a whopping $15 coupon as an apology in a mass email. I don't want a coupon, I want what I ordered.
Update 3: I am happy to report that my order shipment went out today. I am really happy to see that they finally are back in operation. What I am still unhappy about is the complete lack of communication. Aside from an Instagram post, they made little to no effort to communicate. When I did reach out, I received either a curt admonishment for asking or a trite "we're working hard" email. I really feel like a little humbling and remorse would go a long way to getting their customers to trust them again. Now let's hope the items I waited 3 months for are actually worth the wait.

Do not follow consumer laws…

Do not respect local consumer protection laws. Seem to think their policies can override governmental laws.

I would shop elsewhere.

Their products are just as pricey (adjusted for inflation) as they used to be but a lot of the products have gone down in quality, they are nothing like they used to be 5 or 10 years ago.

Incredibly disrespectful, condescending and unhelpful staff on their support team provide no information when something is wrong with your order and are unwilling to continue a support conversation if they are tired of talking to you. Not possible to email the chat transcript either, you have to painstakingly take a screenshot of each page in order to save a chat. They also do not respect prices that are displayed when you order an item that fails to be shipped to you.

Save your money, buy from a retailer that ACTUALLY still makes their products in the US...

Shipping is horrible & expensive

I ordered an outfit for a Christmas Party that I am having on 12/17. I placed my order on 11/27, it has still not shipped. It shows a shipping label was created on 12/1 but no updates. This is why I stopped shopping at ModCloth 3 years ago. They charge an exorbitant amount for shipping, $12 for my 3 items. The items show up 3 to 4 weeks after ordering or just get cancelled. I ordered a replacement outfit from anthro last Friday, it was delivered today. No charge for shipping. Sadly this is the last time I order from ModCloth.

Order Refund

I ordered a dress for Cyber Monday I'd been eyeing for a while, it was finally discounted so I bought it with 10 left in stock. A few days later it was refunded unceremoniously, but I was still charged for the shipping. I called to see what was up, and the service representative curtly said the item was out of stock and would not be arriving. She refunded me the shipping, then hung up on me. I've worked customer service, so I know what it's like, but the ModCloth customer service representative was unnecessarily cold and rude.

customer service? no not really

I ordered the wrong size coat and immediately realized my mistake. minutes after making the order I called customer service to see if they could adjust the size and the customer service attendent told me No. I asked if they could cancel the order so I could simply make another order with the correct size and again he told me no. I asked if I could exchange the coat once I did receive it and again was told no. I would have to return the coat myself and make a different order after it was processed. I have no idea what customer service for this company does other than tell it's clients "No- Sorry".

I have been waiting two weeks for any order updates without any notifications. this morning woke up to news they cancelled my order- no explanation no apology just that's it's not coming and my money will be refunded in 8 business days. honestly, good. I don't want this company to have my money- plenty of better more human companies.

Ripping off Australian customers

Conversion to AUD on ModCloth website is much higher than the actual exchange rate. For example, dresses that are 99 USD convert to 195 AUD. As per the current exchange rate, 99 USD = 155 AUD. Customer service rep confirmed I can't purchase an item in USD prices if it's being shipped to Australia and they will not adjust the exchange rate on their site. I have bought from ModCloth in the past in USD so I'm disappointed this has changed. Clothes are cute but I'm not paying $195 for a poly blend dress made in China.

Not like it used to be

I received a tracking number for UPS 6 days ago and the information was never updated. Then I received a package yesterday from FedEx. I didn't know who it was from but inside was two of the ugliest pieces from Bebe. I finally found a paper in the package that said Modcloth with a list of 3 out of 4 items I ordered. In the package were only 2 items, neither of which I ordered. I contacted customer service via chat and was told that they would action a return, which I thought was really strange as 1. I never actually received my order and 2. Their records don't even show it as shipped yet. I was told I'd have to reorder my items but that a return process wouldn't even be initiated until 48 to 72 hours from then. The biggest annoyance is them treating this like a return instead of sending the right items. I didn't realise it until digging yesterday, but they've changed ownership multiple times and continue to act like a seller of independent goods when they seem to be under the same ownership as Bebe (both websites function exactly the same and they clearly share a warehouse). Just disappointing because I used to love their clothes.

Modcloth is terrible now!!!

If I could, I would give Modcloth a zero-star rating. Their shipping to Canada is overpriced, slow, and unreliable. The exchange rate they use to convert their merchandise prices from US$ to CDN$ is about 20% over the going rate. I stopped buying any clothing from the Modcloth brand long ago, as the quality had slipped so much. Only the 3rd party brands they sell are worth buying. My second last order took 2 months to arrive. I waited 3 weeks before enquiring about the expected ship date, and they said it already shipped. I told them I hadn't received a shipping notification, and within hours, I received a backdated notification purportedly from the prior week. Not suspicious at all! It still took 5 more weeks to get the item, so I don't believe it was shipped until after I enquired. Last year, I sold 2 items on Modcloth's resale site, and of course, they only pay with gift cards, not cash. I also had some loyalty points to use. I wanted to make one more purchase, use up my discounts/gift cards, and be done with this company. Of course, it took weeks for them to enable me to use my discounts/gift cards because I'm an "international" customer. (To my mind, business between the US and Canada is pretty much domestic, but whatever). So, finally, I used my discounts and ordered a (non-Modcloth brand) dress on May 28, 2023. About ten days later, I contacted customer service to enquire about a shipping date. They tell me it shipped on June 1st, and send me a tracking link. Sound familiar? It's in the mail, lol! Of course, Modcloth charged me on June Ist. I checked the tracking everyday, but there was no change, no movement. I contact customer service again, and they say there'll be no update until the package reaches the shipper's international processing centre. On June 21st, I contacted the shipping company directly only to be informed that they haven't even received the package. I contact Modcloth again, and they say that I have to wait until July 1st before they'll look into it (because international shipping times and all that). Well, I contacted Modcloth today, July 5th, and they tell me, "oh well, I guess it's lost." I ask for a replacement, but nope, they don't do that for "international" customers. I am so angry and fed up with Modcloth that I would rather lose my discounts and gift cards than give them any more business. Good riddance, Modcloth...lose my number, lol!!

Haven’t shipped my item a month after charging my card

I hadn’t shopped on ModCloth for a couple years, but I happened to be browsing the site recently and spotted the cutest dress! I ordered it right away and started imagining all the places I’d wear it this summer.

Only, I placed the order June 1st and I’m still waiting for the dress to ship. (Today is July 4th)

I have contacted Customer Care several times to find out what has happened to my dress, and each time they tell me to be patient and give me a new date to wait until I should follow up again. Now they’re telling me their hands are tied until August 20th. This is absolutely unacceptable as my credit card was charged on June 6th.

ModCloth used to be my favourite store. I’m sad to say I have completely lost faith in them as a company. Don’t order from here if you want to get your items.

Messy

I write this with sadness as a longtime Modcloth customer and fan of their super cute and unique clothing. However, their customer service and policies are getting increasingly worse. In fact I think almost criminally bad. I received this order, but dress came in a size small not a size large as ordered. It was clearly labeled on the packing slip and online, that I had ordered the L, and it was obviously their mistake they had placed the small sized dress. I thought well I am bummed because I paid 12 bucks in shipping, and it took a while to get here (so can't where it to the Friday party I had planned) but oh well it was their mistake so they will rectify it quickly, will no trouble or cost to me right? WRONGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG
2 weeks, 4 agents, 6 emails 1 supervisor, later still not fixed, no dress, no refund, nothing.
Their suggestion was first I take pictures of the tag on the dress to PROVE it was wrong and email it to them ( I did this twice because they said they were having "tech issues") then they would send a return label (never got it), kept reaching out to them. Then they said I could sned back the dress. They would refund me. Then (if I wanted) I could REBUY the dress (which is now full price) and then they would retroactively pay me after the difference. ??????
Can you just correct your own mistake???
I then pointed out that I would be paying 12 bucks in shipping AGAIN for their mistake, something I had to point out twice the first time as well before they refunded me that. They said "oh (begrudgingly) we can RETROACTIVELY pay you back for the shipping

You made the mistake!!! Just send the return label to my email and then send me the correct dress LIKE EVERY OTHER COMPANY ON PLANET EARTH

Their return policy is terrible

Their return policy is terrible. Even if you have been sick and haven't been able to go outside of your house for 2 weeks, they still require the items to be received to their warehouse within 28 days of ship date. Mind you, their ground shipping takes over 1 week for items to arrive. I will never shop at this store again. They will lose valuable customers and revenue this way
