Amazing designs, Low stock, a bit disappointing

Let me start off by saying I absolutely love the designs created by Maria Tash. Based on the attractive marketing, I decided to make an appointment at the liberty location in London. The customer service focus was wonderful, but I was very disappointed that the designs I wanted were not in stock for my piercing. Ultimately, is selected a design that was in stock so that I could have the experience. While I like my piercing very much, it’s not what I wanted initially. After my appointment, I went to Browns in Dublin to see if they had anything in stock that I wanted. No success. I then went to Nordstrom in New York, again, nothing in stock that I wanted. The sales associate there offered to contact the company to place an order and took $5000 on my credit card because she said it needed to be paid in full to place the order. After I paid, I was informed that the style I wanted was not in stock. She then tried to convince me to buy what was in stock. Overall a very frustrating experience. My suggestion for anyone hoping to buy from Maria Tash is to try to buy online, but know that many designs have very limited to zero stock.

Poor service

My advise: only order if you want too see and buy the item without fitting.

I ordered two pieces and tried too return them. They where refused, because there where traces they have been fitted/worn. I did try to fit one piece, but it did not fit unfortunately. I did fit the other one, but did not wear it.

It was my fault that I dit not read the policy thoroughly enough. I presumed that fitting was possible.

That you can’t return an item that does not fit, or that has been tried (not worn) because of hygiene reasons, is not very customer friendly in my opinion. In my view other company’s, such as Culet, offer more customer friendly return policies.

In response to your reaction. Thank you for your answers. As I have stated before, I haven’t worn the items. I fitted one and tried to fit the other, but is was too small. I simply could not have worn it, because the hoop would not close. And that is the simple truth. I haven’t got a clou about scratches.

I treated the items exactly as I did with other items that I have returned, without any problems. So I am utterly puzzled.

My advise remains the same: don’t take the risk of ordering and fitting, unless you are already sure you want to buy.

We wanted to look into this with our management team and see if we have done any mistake when it comes to your return.
We do allow our clients to try on jewelry for orders placed online, this is in order to understand if what they ordered is the right fit or not. In this particular instance what we received from you as a return has been assessed as worn jewelry, there are clear signs on skin residues and dry blood on the surface of both pieces (relevant pictures have been shared with you in our initial email). Furthermore both pieces are presenting various scratches which are suggesting these pieces have been worn rather than just tried on.

While we do emphasise with your situation I'm afraid our hygiene policies are extremely strict and jewelry received in this state cannot be resold to other clients. This policy is in place for our customers own safety and we are unable to make any exceptions.

We apologise for any inconvenience this might have caused you and please do not hesitate to let us know if there is anything we can do for you in the meantime, we are here for you.

Beware of this place

Do not go to this place. I repeat, do not shop here, save your money! this is a rip-off! I came here because I didn’t like the way the earrings looked. I went back for the return, and the manager, who which by the way sucks! She told me that I couldn't return them due to it was worn that was stated on the receipt which by the way the piercer didn't put the earrings on when I was told by another staff (Liam) that if I was not satisfied I can return them. I am sure there are lots of people who purchase worn the jewelry and return the item with no questions asked believe me, I believe the manager was being bias towards me. Ladies and gentlemen, do not shop at this location. There are many places where you can get the bang for your buck. One of them is Mejuri, and they do piercings there as well. The quality is way better than Maria Tash or should I say Maria Trash!!! For the little piece of light weight jewelry they sell is way too overpriced.

bad quality

my last review got taken down because the earrings that i purchased were out of warranty. the quality is horrific that's why you only get a year warranty, which is ridiculous for the amount of money they charge. i've had cheap jewellery last decades. someone from maria tash reported my review and i had to provide my reciepts for the products. they were purchased two years ago so that made my review void? i would not recommend because both my earrings broke and got lost when i never even took them out. i reached out to someone at maria tash and all they say is that i should have insured them.

i would instead invest in better quality jewellery.

Horrible repair customer service

***UPDATE***
IT'S BEEN A WEEK AND I'VE HEARD NOTHING from Maria Tash. So much for the URGENT assistance...

(Checked my FB messages and all of my emails. Also, sent an email to the Maria Tash Customer service email with a screen shot of their TrustPilot response.)

I received a Demi Apsara Invisible Set Diamond Threaded Stud Earring. (*Currently $3,055) as a GIFT. I no longer interact with the giver. The earring's threads are stripped and the earring doesn't catch and falls out. I contacted Maria Tash customer service for a repair. I told them that I'd pay for the repair. NO DICE!!! Unless and until I can confirm where and when and by whom the piece was purchased, I'm STUCK with a broken earring. (*Again over $3,000.00 USD)

What gives? As long as it is genuine, which they can confirm upon receipt, AND I'M PAYING FOR THE REPAIR what is the point of demanding all of this research and information???

What about people that buy on the secondary market?

FYI, I have at least 10 other MT pieces which I bought. But never again.

Worse quality

Unfortunately, I have to report that the piercing was completely lost and I cannot explain it. The other 8 Maria Tash piercings (stud earrings), 2 Pukka Berlin piercings and 1 PD Paola piercing are absolutely in order and properly screwed. There is no injury in/at the ear, the neighbour piercings (Helix and Innerconch, 0,5-1 cm away) are also inconspicuous and I don't remember any painful pulling on the ear. The only solution appears to be a problem with the material or workmanship, which is´nt acceptable in this price segment.

Beautiful jewellery until it’s faulty . 4 weeks I had it in , fell out . Turns out the post lost its thread ? Well just as well I was sat at home when it fell . I’d have lost £1160 . Terrible customer service . After sales Maria Tash is a big deal . Don’t just take the money and run!

I love the Maria Tash designs but must…

I love the Maria Tash designs but must say im not impressed with some of the designs quality.. ive sent back one earring that had a faulty closing(white gold with diamond hoop) and got it replaced , i would have preffered to pick something else as i really don't like this style as it seems rather flimsy and quality not up to scratch. Ive now lost one of my favs with similar closing and im devastated.. ( diamond princess hoop earring)i have worn them for two years and only take them out to clean them.. so the fasting should not have opened..

Dreadful customer service, poor quality products

My other half bought me a lovely pearl stud earring for a gift via Liberty online (UK), but when I received it, the threaded post didn't screw all the way into the front. I have 3 other Tash studs and none are like this. As it was clearly faulty, we returned it to exchange it. The shop then had the nerve to say it wasn't faulty and that they therefore wouldn't exchange it and would send the original back to me. They sent a photo of a good, properly closed stud as 'proof'. On receiving the stud back again, it still didn't screw back in properly and we were really annoyed - the photo seemed to be of a different stud and I didn't want to force mine closed and risk cross-threading it - so closed, the back and front screws don't meet up like my other MT studs, risking losing it and tangling in hair. They also refused to supply a shorter ear post which used to be a standard swap once you bought a single stud from them - £75 for a 5mm tube?! I think not. All in all hugely disappointing - I won't be buying anything from MT again, ever. Save your money and shop some of the many now very good similar earrings at a fraction of the price.

Pop-up Again Some Time ...

Following my new piercing and jewellery instillation, just under two weeks ago, my mum and I visited the pop-up boutique for a second time to purchase new jewellery for my existing piercings. Prior to my arrival, Tene had curated a series of styles to compliment my new piercing and I was not disappointed - all looks were beautifully curated and were testament to the time the team give to understanding clients needs.
On arrival, I experienced the same high-quality, personalised customer service I have come to expect from Maria Tash - Casa and Jasmine (Head Piercer at Harrods) spent time discussing the curated looks and supporting me, and my mum, in our choices. The jewellery is undoubtedly beautiful and a genuine discount on this high-end brand. The boutique also offers the same instillation service available at Maria Tash stores so that clients can leave the boutique showcasing their new curated look.
Again, I would like to thank the Maria Tash team at Bicester Village for their guidance and professional, friendly and informative customer service. The boutique will be at the Village for another four weeks - it would be great to see Maria Tash back at Bicester Village in the future.

Cancelled my appointment- Terrible customer service

Initially I booked an appointment for when I was to visit London, it was booked at the Liberty store.
I rang on two occasions as I had seen a Maria tash earring which I wanted to purchase for my piercing. When I rang I was spoken to as if they could not be bothered to help and did not listen to what I was actually explaining that I did not live in London.
They could not tell me if the item a lapis lazuli tri stud was in stock or if they could locate.
I tried again to enquire over the instant chat, again I did not get any help and they promised to re contact, that was a week ago hence I book a piercing locally at Lotus Piercings, Newcastle and now have the piercing. The staff there could not be more knowledgeable & helpful.
Advice, don’t bother with Maria Tash…. Trading on the name however terrible service.

Ridiculous, you’ve responded to my complaint/review a year later!!! Seriously how poor is your ‘ customer service’!!

To add also the email follow up I received was weeks after I enquired about a stud as to whether in stock, seriously avoid as you can see by the reviews excuse after excuse instead of an apology which potential customers/customers would think better of them.

Poor quality - breaks easily

I spent a considerable amount of money on two sets of Maria Tash earrings a couple of years ago at Liberty.
One of the pairs was a triple spike and within a few months of owning the largest of the spikes fell out. I sent it for repair, but when it came back, the clicking mechanism didn’t feel as secure, which meant I was worried about wearing them other than for special occasions.
Anyway, having decided this weekend was a special lunch I wore then for maybe the 4th time since the purchase and during the 3 hours I was at the lunch it had fallen out.
I’m totally gutted.
Jewellery this expensive should not be this poorly made. I now have one earring that I can’t wear, which feels like a total waste of money.

UPDATE IN RESPONSE TO MARIA TASH:
When they write that they were aware things were “resolved”, I’m not sure that that is entirely transparent. They did not attempt to address the poor quality of the earring, but helped me track down a replacement in store and I paid full price to replace the original. So basically they did what a shop is supposed to do.

Great experience

I got a conch piercing at the Broadway store today where Tonya helped me select an earring and Ashley pierced my ear. This is the second time I have been at the store but the first time I got a piercing there. Both women were lovely and so helpful; I can't recommend them enough. The only downside is the cost of the earrings.

Faulty Item Less Than 3 Months After Piercing and No Refund

I had two piercings at the María Tash concession in Harrods at the end of January 2023. On Sunday the conch tiara earring broke, the tread has snapped from the stud. Luckily the thread stayed in the backing and wasn’t lost in my ear. I have spoken to the concession manager and she has told me they will not refund the item even though it’s faulty. They have offered a repair however there will always be a weakness in the piece and the online reviews of the company have highlighted lots of issue with repairs and customer services. This item was over £1000 and it’s faulty. If the stud had fallen off without me seeing it I would have lost this money. Customer services have said it’s been too long for a refund, but you don’t expect a piece of jewellery that’s less than three months old to break when it’s over £1000 and I’ve been pierced with it! I have not had an issue with my hidden helix piercing or the team at Harrods. The team will send me a complementary titanium piercing for my conch as this is closing

As this was bought from Harrods this should follow standard UK policies on faulty goods. It was under three months when the item broke and it is not fit for purpose. Under the consumer rights act 2015 I am requesting a full refund as a repair will not be successful and a replacement is not viable as it has been discontinued. I have emailed Harrods customer services and will contact Maria Tash services as well.

I will not be using Maria Tash again. There are lots of other company’s that pierce with solid gold in London when I want to add to my piercings.

No Refund for Trying On ONCE!

EDIT:
The posts I ordered shortly after on 4/14 mentioned in the reply were in perfect condition, but my significantly more expensive purchase on 4/7 which included a stud to the post was not? That's really interesting considering I tried on both posts on, for a few seconds in the same exact way as the one stud! Which is again exactly what I did on my accepted return of 3/26. But both my studs from 4/7 allegedly have extensive wear and build up ONLY? You are still making up policy as blanket statement with my situation. I sent back clean, sterilized products with no wear, build up or debris. Do better.

Furthermore, the pictures in mentioned in your reply are not reflective of what I returned and there is no proof it isn't some other random stud or mix up - which seems likely at this point. I still have not been provided a reason for two separate products being denied a refund when only one product is in question. Does this mean if someone orders multiple pieces and one item is subjectively denied, all items in the order are not refunded? I'm a long time customer and am familiar with this process, there is clearly still inconsistencies with what is being relayed through email, online and now this reply.

It's insane that there is even a reply like this doubling down poor customer service and continued unprofessionalism. No one is in direct contact with me! The only resolution I have been offered is to PAY to get them back, and now you are now offering to manually have me buy more products? This is really upsetting and disgusting behavior.

ORIGINAL POST:
I ordered online plain invisible set studs for my earlobes and the post length didn’t work, so I began the process to have them returned since there is no exchange policy. I have had to do this in the past and didn’t have issues - specifically trying on a product and returning it for improper fit to which I was refunded - so I wasn’t worried about anything even though this was my biggest order yet of $480. From here I received the worst customer service imaginable without any effort to work with me on a resolution.

I received an email (Cherry Zeliang) saying that a stud had been extensively worn with pictures describing “significant build up”, however this is completely fabricated on their end. The thing is, of the two studs I only tried on one for a few seconds to see if it would fit, and there’s no way build up would have occurred in this way (especially being a healed earlobe hole) which was my first red flag. My next concern was that they were immediately denying a refund on two separate studs while claiming only one did not pass the subjective inspection.

I replied to the email with follow up questions as the policy doesn’t state anything about trying products on one time for fit or if this was being treated as a final sale items, and verification of the photos sent being what I mailed since there was no debris on them before being mailed back. My questions were ignored and I continued to get regurgitated information from the first email saying they will not refund me all in vague language. I asked multiple times about where the “extensive use and build up” was coming from other than a few pictures since it’s literally not possible, which was also ignored.

More insulting is that they wanted me to confirm my address multiple times to charge me through PayPal for return shipping in order to send them back! Not only is that super weird, but what am I supposed to do with earrings that don’t fit? I denied this in writing via email, and had to inform my bank of the situation incase they try making an unauthorized transaction to my account. Maria Tash will NOT refund you if you try anything on - even if it’s a second or you ensure the product is sterilized before mailing back. They’d probably claim fingerprints count as prolonged use! In all seriousness though, at their price points it’s 100% not worth the gamble or quality.

To confirm that both pieces received from you as a return have been deemed worn, we shared pictures of both those units - this is the reason why both items are not eligible for a return.
Kindly note that there is no room for mistakes when it comes to our processes, we have a very rigorous quality control process in place when dealing with returns in order to avoid cross contamination. The chances the pieces from the pictures we sent you are from a different order are close to zero since we are dealing with every return individually.

You received this order on the 14th of April and requested a return on the 21st of April, as per our return policy we would have been more than happy to offer you a refund if these pieces were returned in the same condition as the one you received them. Both returned units are showing clear signs of wear, a return isn't something we can consider on this occasion as we would be unable to resell these items (this is due to our strong hygiene policy which is in place for the safety of our clients).

According to our records, you placed a different order in March for the same exact items on a shorter post. We accepted that return because the items we received from you were in perfect condition.

I would kindly ask you to check again the pictures we sent you a few days ago, clearly showing significant build up and skin debris - with all due respect these details have not been fabricated on our end.
If the length of the posts is your concern then we would be more than happy to place a manual order for you consisting in longer posts that will fit your piercing. I know our customer care team is in direct contact with you as we speak and they will assist you accordingly.

I would like to reiterate that this policy is in place for the safety of our clients and we cannot abide from it under any circumstances.

I absolutely love Maria Tash jewellery, I have been purchasing earrings from them for some time and have a nice collection. They are beautiful quality with fine details, yet substantial for daily wear and sleeping in. Customer service online has always been helpful too. Absolutely my favourite piercing brand

Shoddy workmanship

Hi I have three earrings which were inserted together when my ears were pierce two years ago. I had an MRI scan recently and had to remove all piercings. However when I reinserted these after the MRI two of them wouldn't click into place. These were the most expensive of the three. I am very disappointed as these should have been better quality. The cheapest one clicked into place easily and without any problem.

I had a one ring in my second piercing…

I had a one ring in my second piercing on my right ear, it was put in when it was pierced. Taking these rings out is impossible and you can never get them closed again.
I actually bought a new set for $400 and I can use either, which means I just threw the money away. No one can get them to close. And I have had my husband and a couple of friends try.

I will not buy from them again. The price is high for tiny rings and the quality is not there.

Lacking in quality

I purchased a solid gold navel piercing in 2020 and have left it in ever since. I have periodically checked on it to ensure it remains tightened. The other day it fell out at the gym. By some miracle I found it. Then it fell out 2 more times!!! I found it and then my cleaner found it the third time. Upon inspection, I realized that the threads had somehow warped and loosened within 2 short years in my navel. I will be sending it for repair, but the fact that the piece seems so poorly made for the price is very troubling. I’ve been hard core contemplating getting the floating pear for my ear, but after reading these reviews about the quality and poor customer service, plus my own experience with quality, I’m going to look elsewhere.

Luxury pricing, shoddy quality.

Sadly same experience as everyone else.

The fastening isn’t secure.
Had mine repaired twice; the third time they replaced the whole earring.

Last time it fell out of its own accord thanks to shoddy fastening and it literally fell down the drain.

Maria Tash kindly offered a ten per cent reduction on another 300 pound earring after my last 300 quid is literally down the drain.

Stay well away guys. If you wanna replace your jewellery every six months, shop on Etsy.

Maria Tash are just expensive cowboys.
