Called to have a refrigerator hinge repaired. A technician arrived as scheduled — but immediately asked to borrow a ladder, something a professional should bring. He then showed a $350 quote on a phone calculator with no itemized breakdown, and was unable to explain the charges due to a serious language barrier.

Technician arrived without basic tools (had to borrow a ladder — a liability issue)

Don't trust anyone from this site. Posted a job about a simple plumbing job. One Guy made an appointment to view the job. Then cancelled, tried to reschedule he ignored me. Another did come look at it. Said he would do it. Guy overcharged me. Took weeks to get an invoice. And now I have to call someone to come fix the shitty job he did.

I hired daugherty construction to repair holes in my room from a satellite dish the young men that came out that morning climbed on a ladder above my central air unit it was raining that day I asked him that they wanted to finish the job they said yeah when I got home from work that day I turn my air on and it wouldn't work I called the HVAC people to come out they told me the earliest they could come was Friday they came out and immediately he noticed a huge footprint and roofing nails inside my central air unit I have called the company Daughterty construction finally today I got an email stating his employees did not step one or drop anything on my unit yet there is a huge footprinting I have my security cameras to show at 7:30 that morning there was nothing wrong with my unit it was flat they are not owning up to their damages so now I am taking them to court if they didn't tell they boss if they left nails in the unit do you really think they will tell him they stepped on it

Hired the company in August 2024 to replace my entire driveway and side walk, Paid $22,000, In April 2026 I notice that panels were chipping (approximately six panels). Manager came out and immediately said there was a one year warranty on their work, but they would do a courtesy repair and repair two panels. When the workers came out they informed me that if they did the repair, the repaired pieces would be darker than the other12 panels. I asked the company why wouldn't they repair the other four panels and they said they were doing me a courtesy and would only repair two panels. Is this the type of business you would want to work with. You spend $22,000 on home improvement and 1 1/2 years later, that improvement depreciates your property value. Than they won't fix obvious flaws in the work they did. I wonder what other people think and actual masonry professionals. Other seniors watch out for this company because they do poor work and their customer service is terrible.

Hired Debco services from Derby to clean my ducts and fireplace. As they walked trough the yard in the mulch they didn’t take there shoes off. Large black footprints all over my carpets. Had to have carpets professionally cleaned to remove stains

Technicians were dispatched 2 separate times without confirming my availability.

We are super impressed with crews work efficiency and eagerness to pleass .They came with really great tools to work with .The boss kept us posted as to when coming .Also very reasonable for the work done!

For professionals looking to get your name out to the public, never use Angi.com or Home Advisor.
I got a call from Tyler, with Angi.com, today. When he started his pitch, it wasn't a good time for me to talk & I was busy on another call. I asked him if I could call back, said thanks, and then disconnected the line so I could return to my other call.
Tyler's response on my voice mail was as follows (verbatum):
"No, because you rudely hang up and just because you say thank you is not, okay. You told me to call you back."
"Yeah, you're probably not a good fit anyway. I apologize for even thinking that I I should call you back because you asked me to call you back at the end of the month. So good, luck man. Hopefully you, uh, don't treat your customers like that."
Based on Tyler's unprofessional response, and based on Angi.com's low review rating overall, I would never recommend Angi.com or home advisor to businesses looking for advertisement through Angi.com or customers looking for help with their home needs. I feel bad for professionals who have signed up with Angi.com.
I am working to file a formal complaint with Angi.com's management, but I've already been on hold for an hour.

Almost impossible to cancel a consumer annual account for which I was being billed $19.99 a year. No option to cancel online. You must call in and then be transferred to multiple people. Hopefully, I won't be charged again next year as I think I have canceled the account, but it was hard to understand the customer service representative.

I have hired All American Hardwood Floors for several years, and their work has always been extremely professional. They have always provided quality work for a fair price. If you are looking to find a company in this field, I would highly suggest using them.

Avoid Homeadvisor and all other companies they owe.
Canceled my account the next day, never received the promised refund, and Angi claimed it was “completed” without proof. Bank confirmed no refund was sent. Despite this, Angi kept billing me, threatened collections, and even charged my card $440 without authorization on Feb 2, 2026. Extremely frustrating and poorly handled.

Questa mattina è venuta una ragazza carina di 22 anni, gentile e mi dice che veniva per contratto ENI. Ma mia figlia adesso ha l'ACEA. Ho chiesto una copia del suo documento di riconoscimento ma non l'aveva. Le ho spiegato che diffido delle società che non sono raggiungibili telefonicamente e l'ho rimandata indietro.

Joshua started our storm damage claim with our insurance company in early February 2025 and stayed supportive even after multiple denials. We eventually hired a public adjuster, then an attorney, and finally got approval in mediation in October 2025. First Light was ready to go as soon as the claim was approved.

Chase, our Project Manager, and Keieth, our Site Supervisor, ran a smooth project with skilled, respectful crews and thorough cleanup. Adam in the office kept us informed step by step, and Katie handled the invoices and payments clearly and professionally.

They installed a full GAF roofing system with the Golden Pledge Warranty, which gives us confidence in both the materials and workmanship. Our roof was completed on December 18, 2025, and we are very pleased with the results.

We highly recommend First Light Home Services for any roofing work.

If I could leave a review lower than 1 star I would. HOME ADVISOR/ANGI'S IS A SCAM!!!
Where to begin...

1. What is promised in the sales calls in not what is delivered. All my business owners would probably agree that the definition of a "lead" is the opportunity to close. Well this marketing companies definition of a lead is a phone number and email that may or may not be in service, accurate, or even real.

2. The "pro support" people are a joke. They act like they have a clue about owning a business when they all work for someone else. Lots of irony in that. No grace will be given from them or any other support staff in issuing credits for "leads" that have no opportunity to even connect with the potential "client". SO MAKE SURE YOU READ THEIR CONTRACT. YOU ARE PAYING FOR CONTACT INFORMATION ONLY. THEY DON'T CARE IF YOU EVEN ARE ABLE TO CONNECT WITH THE HOMEOWNER.

3. If you decide the service isn't for you by the way, the money you have spent into your lead budget is forfeited to them. This is classic marketing robbery. DO NOT USE THEM.

In summary, the overall experience is entirely a waste of time and money. Take the same money you would put into this and find a better marketing partner or hire a local college kid to knock some doors for you. If anyone reading this ever decides they would like to hop on a class action against Home Advisor/Angis please reach out to me. My company is Day 3 Outdoor Services and we officially become advocates against this fraudulent company for lfe. SPAM, THEIVES, CROOKS. RUN NOW!
