Never have what I need or want
They just never have what I need. No imports, national website says everything good is out of stock. They never notify customers when stuff finally IS in stock. It's just a rubbish retailer who are a shadow of their former selves unfortunately. This Plymouth branch is the worst, they have 50 copies of the same albums taking up shelf space. Oh and extremely overpriced too. Full price for DVD titles which are 40 years old? I know they do not set their prices but still.
I used to love that whole physical experience of going to a store, leafing through products to be surprised by an obscure release from my favourite bands. That whole nostalgic experience has gone. They just sell mainstream tripe (which is guaranteed to sell) because of the way the industry has changed and the economic environment. Experts in their field they are not anymore, just a glorified 'Woolworths' and almost as obsolete.

Bought 12 vinyl records 7 Charged for a bag
Bought 12 vinyl records and had them delivered to store. Assistant was ok, then charged me for a plastic bag. Just felt that this should have been a given considering the amount of money spent. Will start to look for other alternative vendors who would be more welcoming and want retention.

This is a government initiative intended to reduce waste and the damage caused to the environment by the bags. All proceeds from the sale of the bags go to our nominated charities Nordoff Robbins and War Child.

Delivery to store is usually reliable
We often have goods delivered to the store for pick up and it’s usually a great service (5 stars). I’ve deducted a star this time around sadly, because despite preordering the item well over a month in advance we didn’t get it until after the release date (which was disappointing as it was for a present). I received an email to say it had been despatched seemingly in good time, but it then took 5 days to get to the store. I received the email informing available to collect the day after release. What’s the point of a preorder if you have to wait longer than the release date. Surely if you’ve taken the trouble to preorder you should get some kind of priority (?) Online ordering process is simple and efficient and the customer service in store at point of collection was great as usual, just a shame it came after the release date and was late for the recipient of the gift.

DONT CALL THEM.... NO ANSWER AND STILL CHARGE TO WAIT
After my child was wrongly accused of shop lifting, i was told i was able to contact the store to arrange a time to discuss said aqusation with the manager and clear there name, After being on hold for 14 mins and no answer we had to go into the store in person.
A few week later my phone bill comes back and ive been charged £16 while being on hold.
And HMV have the audacity to accuse people from thieving. Absolute disgrace of a company, you should be ashamed..
