I cannot believe we are back home, it still feels surreal…
Back in Feb 2024 we had a house fire in our family home, and it literally took everything from us.
We felt so lost and broken & even though we had insurance we were so left in the dark with things it was just so scary, we didn’t understand the process or what was really going on, and simply digesting the fact the house was gone was enough.
Communication with the insurance was long winded every time, it consumed so much time and having a baby and a young child, that was so hard.
So I googled in desperation to see if there was anyone out there who could help us with the whole thing and that’s when I came across Harris Balcome.
Bringing Harris Balcome into the mix in the early stages really helped to ease the whole process. The minute they were on board from then on everything just went smooth, the insurance communicated with Harris Balcome only and then Jonathan Ingham (who was assigned to our file) contacted us. & He actually cared too!!!! I cried on the phone to him a lot in the beginning (poor man, haha, but I was in the first year postpartum) and he was so kind every time. He explained things to help us make the right choices for our family home.
All in all, I am honestly so happy to have come across Jonathan at Harris Balcome. The whole process was seamless and he helped us to understand so much more, giving us realistic time frames, chasing the insurance and not leaving us in the dark like the insurance seemed to do.
Our house is now perfect, it feels so good to be home.
…Jonathan did everything he could to ensure we have had the correct building works done so that there is no smoke damage left in the property (unlike the insurance who just wanted to wipe down and repaint!).
If you are sadly in the circumstance me and my family were in, do not hesitate to get in contact with Harris Balcome because it will be the best thing you ever did.

Should have got Harris Balcombe involved from the start of our claim so that the narrative could have been controlled. Nevertheless, some honest and useful advice from JP on how to take the claim forward and steps to follow in dealing with the insurance company on our own. A good recommend to get this company involved from the very outset of a complex claim.

I instructed HB for a complicated claim involving an arson attack on my rental property as this is not my field and I was extremely busy with my own work. I was appointed Danielle who acted quickly and efficiently through out a complicated process involving a lot of tough negotiating to achieve a more than fair offer after receiving a nothing short of insulting first offer. Dannielle kept in touch throughout and was always there at the other end of the phone to answer any questions. Although this has been a stressful time I could not have done it without her.

After our home was affected by unprecedented flooding, friends recommended we should contact Harris Balcombe for help. Jeremy Balcombe assigned Jonathan Ingham to our case.

Fantastic service and would highly recommend. Claims are incredibly stressful and having a company like Harris Balcombe on your side really takes the pressure off. Samantha was incredible from start to finish, and was on the ball with every aspect of the claim. I had very little to worry about and any concerns that did surface during the process, was dealt with by Sam swiftly and efficiently. Could not recommend them higher!

Our company has now used HB on three occasions, all due to water related incidents and all with outstanding results. We would not have arrived at the end of each claim in as healthy a position without their help, but this has been our experience.
A severe insurance claim can be extremely traumatic, especially as loss adjusters seem to have a need and ability to plumb ever lower depths but the experience and guiding hands of HB can be a great support and comfort.
Our latest claim commenced on 7th July 2023 with a roof collapse due to inundation and was only completed on 3rd January 2025. Patience and tenacity are therefore necessary requirements.
We would most certainly recommend them, thank you Mark and Jeremy.

This company supported my elderly Auntie when she had to move out her home due to structural damage. Due to her age I supported in this matter. The company could not be more helpful, they kept me in the loop of every conversation they had with her. If I had to call or email for advice, response was very quick. We were approached by a representative of Harris Balcombe after a devastating fire, to offer their support services. Our representative was Mark Burke, who explained in great detail how the whole claim and recovery process would work. Everything was clearly laid out and a detailed plan of recovery was put into place. Mark’s assistance and advice throughout this ordeal, from start to finish, was first class. He was extremely professional and very knowledgable on all aspects of the recovery process. The reinstatement works occurred without any major issues, and Mark managed the whole process on our behalf from start to finish.

Impeccable service from start to finish.
I instructed Harris Balcombe to act on my behalf after my home was hit by severe flooding. Samantha Hamer was assigned to my case and took care of the claim from inception to completion, taking away all of the arduous tasks of dealing with the insurance company. Harris Balcombe appointed surveyors and builders, and the scope of work and work completed was to an excellent standard.

After a devastating house fire. We were fortunate enough to engage Harris Balcombe in particular Jeremy Balcombe He walked us through the insurance, claims, recovery and build process. Exceptionally helpful at the beginning when we were still in shock. He knows the process inside out and was able to negotiate better terms then we could have. He dealt with the insurers directly on our behalf which alleviated a lot of stress. Answered urgent emails/ calls rapidly and knew when to challenge insurers and when to leave matters.
We would not have been able to do this without him.

I have recently had a fire in a property and I chose to go with Harris Balcombe and Dannielle Douglas was appointed as my Loss Assessor. I am extremely grateful to Steven and Cranston for their time, dedication and commitment to my claim.
If I had undertook this mammoth task, I would never have produced the same results. I am incredibly overwhelmed and just wanted to express my gratitude and appreciation.
The process within the early stages had been stressful and at times personal when engaging with my loss adjuster. If I had continued without their support, it would have inevitably resulted in a huge loss in terms of the business interruption payment. In hindsight, it would have been more beneficial to have them on board for the building claim, however we do not look backwards.

I was introduced to Harris Balcombe by a neighbour when our homes were flooded in October 2023. Samantha Hamer was assigned to my case and she was my main point of contact throught the process. I am very pleased with how my claim was handled. Sam dealt with my insurance company directly, so I didn't have to, and this makes a big difference. I am now back in my home, as of June 2024, and I am very pleased with the repair work that has been completed.

The insurance company were arguing that I was in breach of their contract on several points and i almost gave up on a fire claim. Samantha and her team gave me the reassurance and confidence to keep perusing. Samantha was quick to reply and helped articulate my position as a new to the property business landlord. I was first introduced to Harris Balcombe following a house fire in a rental property. This was obviously a very traumatic event as well as a costly one and I was completely uninformed about what to do to even begin the process.
Harris Balcombe were reassuring, knowledgeable and . They gave me a clear overview of what would happen in the process, told me exactly what paperwork they needed from me and dealt with my insurance company and contractors on my behalf. It was such a relief to have someone on my side who knew how the process should run and ensuring that it did.
I was assigned my own contact, Samantha Hamer, who dealt with the case throughout so that I had a continual point of contact and she was fully aware of every stage of the process. She was supportive and reassuring. I found it really difficult looking at the wreckage of the house but she was quick to point out that she'd seen much worse and that it was entirely possible to have it repaired and looking better than new.
She dealt with all of the lost earnings claims on the rental and otherwise took the responsibility off my shoulders.
I would have no hesitation in recommending them and it was just such a relief to rely on their expertise in such a complex area which I knew nothing about.
