Google have withdrawn support and disabled the online remote function of a perfectly working nest thermostat that had only been installed a year!

Nest Protect had geen verbinding meer met Wifi. Alle 5 andere artikelen van Nest wel in huis. 6 keer dezelfde vraag moeten stellen en telkens kreeg ik als antwoord terug dat ik alle stappen moest doorlopen. Deze stappen ook al 6 keer doorlopen en dit teruggestuurd.
Na ongeveer 8 mails verder werd er gezegd dat een nieuwe rookmelder eigenlijk de enige optie was. Zelf moeten komen dat de Nest Protect niet meer verkrijgbaar was. Er werd een alternatief aangeboden, maar deze was niet online verkrijgbaar maar alleen bij retailers. Tekst was in het Engels op de site dus ook de US site.
De klantenservice doet er niks aan om de klant te helpen en bij het bieden van een alternatief kom je op de US site uit. Als klant met 6 producten van NEST in huis mag je volgens mij wel wat meer verwachten.

Infuriating inconsistent nest camera since google took over. 150 mbps internet speed with all other products having good connection - shows the poor connectivity up. The nest cam is so unreliable.. drop outs, poor picture, delayed loads. Just utterly frustrating and since Google took over, had two massive increases in price. My monthly 30 day cloud usage was originally free and now costs £16 a month.... and for what? £192 for a year of losing my temper over unreliable, intermittent cctv and being robbed for the privilege. Never again!

We bought a Google Nest thermostat. It was working fine and is a perfectly functional piece of kit. Google then withdrew support for the app. I mean - this is basically taking part of the product away. The app is what makes it useful. It's like buying a car and then 6 months down the line the manufacturer comes and takes the gearbox away. It's essentially a breach of the contract we had when we bought it. I would NEVER buy anything from these guys again.

The product works fine. However an increase of the monthly subscription from 6 to 10 Euros (67%) is not fair for customers that are locked in to your hardware.
I strongly advise against buying Google…
I strongly advise against buying Google Nest products. Once you purchase the device, they raise the subscription prices, leaving you stuck with overpriced plans for a product you've already invested in. It feels like a trap rather than a smart home solution.

End of support??? What end of support? Other thermostats work fine forever. This Nest rubbish will stop working from October???? Google is terrible. Avoid

The nest cameras were absolutely brilliant 4K and they linked up really easy the app is wonderful unfortunately they were bought by Google whose app is absolutely rubbish looks cheap The cameras are now 1080 P and crap. And I’ve just had a new router put in. The nest cameras linked straight away not one of the Google cameras will link to the new router £1000 worth of cameras in the bin. I do not understand when you have something that was so brilliant and worked so well can you manage? To absolutely destroy it should be ashamed of yourself, Google. And now I’m paying £16 a month for the privilege. As soon as another manufacturer comes along that has the same features as nest used to have and the same quality cameras I will be buying their stuff and throwing the Google stuff in the bin

About three weeks ago my thermostat and heatlink wouldn't communicate no matter what steps the NEST team tried. The delay was my fault. I've had NEST for five years, but the team got me sorted with a replacement NEST system which is now up and running. I recieved marvelous support from the technical team , which I am truly grateful for. If I could give more than 5 ☆ I would.
Nest ruined by Google thieves!
Nest used to be so good until Google ruined it. Now they just stop supporting products and ramp their Nest aware subscription up. It’s gone from £100 to £120 now up to £160. This company is not to be trusted. Never again for me.

Disappointed to report that my Nest Cam Outdoor lens fell out during routine cleaning. I shared video proof and was ignored.
Turns out many users have reported the same issue, yet the only advice is: buy a new one. Oh and then an email to say they are rising my subscription by £20!
Google support is just playing the card that it’s out of warranty — but this isn’t wear & tear, it’s a design flaw. With numerous customers experiencing the same thing, it points to a latent defect. No security camera lens should just fall out!
What happened to standing by your products? No customer care only interested in ££££

Worst piece of garbage outdoor camera you can buy. If Internet goes down it won't link back to your camera, you have to go back through whole set up process again. Except this last time, I had to pay in middle of yr to reactivate camera because everything crashed. The customer support couldn't help me figure it so I paid 4 months ago $80 for the yr and just got bill for another $80 in July. Now the camera doesn't work again, more than irritated I'm done with Google garbage in my house. I already 2 Ring cameras and they only cost $35/yr. Google is a rip off company who Muggs customers. This will be sent to better business bureau also.

Na contactname met de klantendienst werden we van hier naar daar gestuurd. Er kwam geen enkele bekwame persoon om uitleg te geven en als er dan iets per mail verzonden werd, dan was het een standaard antwoord. Bij telefonisch contact krijg je een beetje uitleg en "tot straks - ik bel je straks terug", maar niemand belde weer! Dan krijg je een onbeschofte persoon via mail, die zegt bel weer op +31nummer...EU...wij wonen in België, dus ik ga niet betalen voor hun gemak! Dan krijg je als antwoord op een vraag, dat alle apparaten verschillen en dat je het zelf moet uitzoeken voor jouw apparaat...Waarom dan een klantendienst oprichten? Je moet alles zelf zoeken en er is geen handleiding/instructies bij het aangekochte apparaat! Ondertussen zijn we bijna 1 week verder en zit ik hier nog te klungelen ZONDER ENIGE HULP!!!
Google has killed an awesome product
I've been a Nest customer for over a decade. I loved the hardware quality and the Nest app -- could have not been happier. Google then purchased Nest and proceed to kill a perfectly-good product by forcing customers to use their Google Home app, a subpar product that seems to be suspended in a continuous beta development stage. Here's a summary of issues I encountered in the past few months:
* First generation cameras may or may not load on Google Home. If I move them back to the Nest app, they work great. (Now I have half of my cameras in each app -- not the most convenient solution.)
* Live view inconsistent for all cameras.
* Audio stream mixed, so you might be watching a recorded video from Camera A and listen to yourself talking in real time in Camera B.
* Video recordings can take really long to become available.
* Continuous notifications for person or pet detected, even though you turned notifications for those events off.
These (and other) issues were reported to Google multiple times. They simply don't care. To make things worse, they consistently misrepresent their willingness to help and compensate you for the inconvenience. For example:
* They will offer you a free *one year subscription* for Nest Aware in one call, with instructions to call before the auto-renewal date.
* Upon that call, you learn that the offer was for 6 months, not for 12 months. Their gaslight runs high.
* Upon turning off the auto-renewal of Nest Aware (which they instructed me to do), Google automatically offers a 50% off deal for staying, which is better than their 6 months for free when paying full price for a year.
* So you learn that the hours you spent on the phone did not result in a better product and the "offers" they promised you were simply lies, and much worse than the deal you were going to get anyway by simply leaving auto-renew (a 10-second trick all Nest Aware users should use because, honestly, $150 a year for this half-baked product is a scam -- such a shameful money-grabbing).
What a joke. I can't emphasize enough how much I loved these cameras and the Nest app and how much Google has ruined the experience for me.
Low quality
Google Nest Learning thermostat just rubish, It stop pairing with the heatlink and will not connect again. I talked to customer service and there is nothing else to do. It just stopped working. How bad is the quality of the Google Nest brand that a thermostat only last 4 years ?
Unfortunately I won't buy anything that bears the Google logo. It's been a really bad experience having to go through winter with out a proper thermostat.
If I were part of that company I would definitely check on the quality of the products they design. How bad it has to be to get it wrong with a thermostat ? It definitely is a simple circuit to get wrong. Analogs thermostat can run for 35 years and one produced by one of the most powerful companies in the world only last 4 or perhaps less.
Completely disappointed
Completely disappointed. I acquired a Google Max hub for myself and the daughters. Everything was kept up to date. The screen then unexpectedly turns blank. I called customer assistance. I provided serial numbers and the date of purchase.photos and video was submitted. I still have the box. It had no reason to shut down, and I did not receive a replacement, outside of warranty. but now I'm concerned that this will happen all the time. Whether in or out of warranty
