FAULTY CAMERAS DONT BUY!!!
I purchased a Ring doorbell camera in 2023 for approximately £150. By 2026, the device has completely failed and has not powered on for at least the past year. This means the product has lasted only around two years, which is unacceptable for a device of this price and purpose.
I contacted customer support and spoke with a representative named Fara. After completing troubleshooting steps twice with no success, I was simply told that the device is “completely dead.” There was no attempt to escalate the issue, investigate further, or offer a meaningful resolution. The response was dismissive and lacked any sense of responsibility.
I was informed that some devices last for years while others can be faulty. If this is known, then there should be clear and fair remedies in place when a product fails prematurely. A £160 device should not become unusable after such a short period, and this raises serious concerns about product durability and quality control.
The only resolution offered to me was a £30 discount toward purchasing another device. This is wholly inadequate and inappropriate. It gives the impression that the company is more interested in securing another sale than addressing a legitimate fault with an existing product.
I also attempted to raise a formal complaint. I was told that complaints are handled internally, may only be reviewed if deemed “good enough,” and that I would not receive any confirmation or response if no action is taken. This lack of transparency, accountability, and basic customer communication is unacceptable.
Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, products must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose, and durable. A device failing after approximately two years does not meet these standards, particularly given its cost and intended long-term use.
Overall, I am very disappointed with both the product reliability and the level of customer service

Called to cancel my mums account as she’s now in a care home with Dementia , but lady answered and said only with my mums permission I explained I have POA , but was very ignorant still stating I have no right , absolutely disgusted to the point I have 2 doorbells & 3 camera all ring but due to their ignorance I’m cancelling all will buy a better brand as people can buy a blocker from Amazon so they will be able to break in without camera footage but ring are doing absolutely nothing about this plus all customer service representatives are foreign and are not aware of POA & English law

Mijn ervaring met Ring is zeer teleurstellend.
Mijn Ring Video Doorbell Wired werkte volledig normaal totdat er een software-update vanuit Ring werd uitgevoerd. Direct na deze update werkt Live View niet meer en blijft de deurbel hangen in een update-loop. Het apparaat is hierdoor feitelijk onbruikbaar geworden voor het doel waarvoor het bedoeld is.
Ik heb alle stappen doorlopen: opnieuw opstarten, resetten, opnieuw installeren en opnieuw verbinden met wifi. Het probleem blijft bestaan en is duidelijk veroorzaakt door de update.
De klantenservice erkent dat het probleem bij de firmware-update ligt, maar weigert een oplossing te bieden omdat het apparaat buiten de garantieperiode valt. In plaats daarvan wordt een kortingscode aangeboden om een nieuw apparaat te kopen.
Het is onacceptabel dat een product door een software-update van de fabrikant onbruikbaar wordt en dat dit vervolgens niet wordt opgelost. Dit geeft weinig vertrouwen in de betrouwbaarheid van zowel het product als de ondersteuning.
Ik raad dit product en deze service daarom niet aan.

So now only the lights work! so I paid for a new device and can’t see anything. I have tried customer service which is diabolical, the chat service isn’t a chat option as there is no one to talk to just a lot of pre scripted responses that are utterly useless. I can’t even cancel my contract. So will return the new device!
I was warned that ring customer service was bad, but I had previously (a few years ago) been happy as you were able to talk with them, how can businesses get away with this? They should be fined!!!

There app is absolutely awful, can’t change anything, contact them. Went from 2 down to 1 door bell and still charging for 2. Tried deleting it and it just says can not perform that task. Going to get rid and close the account. Not worth it when you can not change things.

i don't get any notifications and or recording stops when the cops pass by our company with the car, while different brand cameras in the same street and neighborhood do have recording and do get notified

I have been a ring customer for over a decade.
i bought a new ring doorbell in 2021 when moving houses as i just wanted a new one for the new house. Had issues with it , rang customer services on numerous of occasions they kept making conduct tests after tests. Even changed my WiFi and did everything they asked me too. I waited on the phone for over 1hr 30 mins, first the line was so bad as the call Center is someone in Asia.
My daughter is special needs and ran out the house yesterday the ring captured my child leaving but kept either freezing or a glitch happens and jumps forward 2-5-6- even 10 minutes and no footage is captured.
on google it also states 7/10 people have complained about the same thing. Including poor customer service.
Honestly your customer services are no help, the promises you make to your customers are the total opposite.
Praise be to the lord nothing happened to my child. But ring you failed from your end.

The main problem is the gap between someone at your door and it getting to your phone. The only way it seems to work is if your in the house and on the same network and even this doesn't work all the time. The other one is the subscription is now a waste of money and unfortunately I have ordered a competitor's one as.there is no subscription. Would not recommend this product.

No such thing as back up service. Forget complaining they aren’t interested. They don’t even have a complaints dept. Not even remotely interested. I’m paying for a service I’m not receiving. I stupidly bought a new camera, which took all the cameras off my husband’s phone. Cannot get them back. Keep being told to try again next week, as they have a problem. They have a problem alright - think it’s called “we don’t give a shit - we have your money so sod off” you can chat until the cows come home. Next week it’ll be sorted, next week it will be sorted, next week it will be sorted ….,, Wish I’d used another company!

The price increases are extortionate for a start.
THEN my subscription ran out at midnight on the 1st of April there was no notification whatsoever to let me know. I only found out when checking my cameras remotely. I renewed the subscription today the 2nd of April 14 hours after it expired.
They have deleted ALL of my VIDEOS recorded for the last two weeks. I telephoned customer service and asked for them back, I explained that the recordings were taken during my subscription period and that I had paid for them.
I was told that I was not getting them back because my service had lapsed by 14 hours.
This is absolutely appalling, what a rip off.
I told them to cancel my subscription immediately, the advisor agreed but was totally nonchalant and couldn’t care less.
The doorbell camera was useless anyway it was picking up my neighbours car and missing people coming down my driveway.
GOODBYE AND GOOD RIDDANCE RING YOU WONT BE GETTING ANOTHER PENNY OUT OF ME!!!!!
