Non-existent after sales support except if you have a “severe problem”

First choice complaint system is useless, had submitted numerous complaints about the hotel room we’re currently staying, with no positive outcome. They acknowledged all the faults and they are “sorry”, but can’t do anything except offer a 50gbp voucher for the holiday worth more than 2000 gbp. We’re stuck in the room with no working air con, cigarette smoke in all public places and once you open the window, severe sewage smell, no working telephone, but at least our door can now be locked and no stranger can enter it without a key (thanks reception and first choice). Shocking standard for a 4 star hotel advertised as family friendly. First choice doesn’t have your back.

Absolutely disgusting company complete…

Absolutely disgusting company complete liers & con , we paid our £60 deposit, but once paid we had no email to say seat numbers I called them they said you have to pay your Hoilday in full before seat numbers & you may not even sit next to each other if you don’t get paid off asap! Obviously we can’t afford to pay for dubi up front so obviously in my situation the balance wouldn’t be paid till next yr when we go & again a possibility that we won’t sit next to each other , won’t help my mental health, tried to call up and a lady told me they don’t have the money emerits I called them they said they don’t have no money it’s first choice I kinda new anyway false advertising as they never ever stated this and have on written proof they said it’s not advertised

They also said that I got to pay £347 month for the Hoilday when this wasn’t what I have evidence of this company is a con all rude over the phone don’t want to help you contacted ombudsman and the bank! This Hoilday was for 2026 on May

We take all feedback very seriously and although we requested further information to allow us to look into further for you, we have unfortunately had no response which would allow us to check your specific situation.
With all bookings, we do have to adhere to terms and conditions which can include those of the specific airline you are flying with, and with some third party airlines they don't have seat selection made available until the ticket with them has been paid in full. Once a flight ticket is paid in full this will then be 'ticketed' and is then usually non refundable, and so generally this will occur closer to departure to allow for further flexibility if needed for the customer for as long as possible.
Unfortunately, we are also unable to override the airline's terms and conditions with this.
I do apologise once again for any disappointment with this.

I spoke with Thamena on live chat this morning as I was having issues adding a special request on the app. Thamena was very understanding and was able to help me out with my request very quickly. Thamena provided exceptional customer service and deserves to be recognised.

I admire First Choice for being honest about sea pollution in Puerto de la cruz.. and very easy to change my booking to la gomera.. customer person was very good kind and professional

Booking a Holiday at Specific location to meet with friends

I wanted to book specific location, flights and dates to join some friends who wre already booked. I found the hotel easily enough but other details didn't match. I spoke to Sandra on the chat, explained what I needed, she sent through a link and I booked it, couldn't have been easier. Whole thing took 5mins. Thanks

If I could put zero stars I would

If I could put zero stars I would! AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!
Booked a holiday to Cape Verde with them after years of booking with TUI directly.
Changed the direct debit date in April due to it being way after payday so wished it to be in the same day. The new payment table said next payment date will be 1st June. I thought brilliant!
Went on a few days ago to check something for the holiday to be shown as cancelled!!
After speaking with someone the day after over the phone I was advised an email way sent on the 7th May (to my junk mail) stating there was a missed payment. Then on the 8th May another email (to my junk mail again) was sent about the holiday being cancelled.
no one contacted me via phone call about any missed payment or this would have been paid. I was then told I only had 24 hours from the cancellation email to reinstate and pay it.
So now the money I had paid for the past few months is gone… I was then told I had to pay a £400 cancellation fee but this could be wavered if I booked a new holiday from scratch (ie deposits etc paid all over again) YEAH RIGHT!
Do not be fooled but the couple of £100 pounds off go directly with TUI!
This company is an absolute joke and I will NEVER book a holiday again with them and I will also make sure no family or friends do!
The couple we were going away with have since cancelled their holiday too, due to all of this so in total £5200 they will not be getting from us!
Ridiculous!

Thank you for your feedback, and I am very sorry to hear your holiday was cancelled due to non payment. Thank you for also providing us with your booking reference number so that we could look into this further for you.
I can see that the most recent direct debit set up had failed to be taken on 1st May and so on 6th May a text message was sent to the number provided at the time of booking, to advise that a payment must be made within 24 hours to avoid cancellation.
There was then also a reminder sent by email to you on 7th May, however unfortunately as there had still been no payment made, the Finance Team then cancelled the booking on 8th May.
As we understand that sometimes this can be overlooked, we can sometimes re-instate the booking within 24 hours of cancellation depending on availability, but unfortunately as 8 days had passed when you contacted us, we were unable to do this, I do apologise.
I can only apologise if you had not received our communications, however we must stress that it is customer responsibility to ensure we have up to date contact details for any important updates we may send.
I am so sorry for your experience on this occasion, if you would like to discuss the booking further, please do not hesitate to contact our team on 0203 451 2690.

1st online booking experience

I haven't booked a holiday since 2018 & that time i went into a travel agent. I was apprehensive about booking online, but the website was easy to search through, excellent choices & great value for money. I will definitely book again with first choice.

Easy to use website, could be made even better

Easy to use website, easy to filter different options to narrow search to individual requirements.
One thing i would add the ability to do is being able to toggle hold luggage for 1 or both passengers and also seats (standard, which can be changed later) to main search filters ie you can go in to filter on rating, board, etc.. but also toggle these options on so that you can see total prices on main search without having to click in to each holiday option and add them on.. takes ages especially if you ste looking at various locations where these things will have different costs and you are also trying to do a cost comparison across other providers... it takes hours....
