Frustrating to deal with. They do not stand behind their products. Purchased a sand filter and multiple port value unit which is defective and under warranty however they didn't honor the warranty. Also rep had a difficult time understanding and speaking English.

Doheny falsely represents it has tech support for its products but it does not,
No one who answered the tech line had any idea how the products work, in this case a solar reel, and they want to read the instructions to you over the phone which is absurd. The written instructions which came with the product are woefully inadequate to put it together or are the wrong instructions for the product. I will never order anything from this company again because it has no respect for its customers. stay away!

I’ve ordered from Donheys Pool store before and didnt have any issues. I placed an order over $1100. It stated at the time of purchase that it was NEXT DAY delivery. I checked FedEx the NEXT DAY to see when my packages are going to arrive. They haven’t even shipped?? I called customer service and they had NO reason as to why my order has not been processed. The customer service said my order would ship within the next 24hrs and now its the weekend. I wont get my package until Monday now. Next Day is now 4 day delivery. I tried to cancel the order because they dropped the ball and said I would just go spend the $ with a local pool company. To cancel the order I would have to pay a return shipment fee??? Your company never even shipped it?? How are you going to charge a return shipment fee when the products never left your warehouse?? I will NEVER order from Donheys again. Terrible experience and customer service is garbage. DO NOT RECCOMEND Donheys

I ordered a Hydro Broom and reading the reviews it looked like it was going to work well. Well this was false. I got the item and Doheny's didn't send me the all of the parts, so when I asked for them to be sent they said they would and never did. So I should have sent it back but I said I would try it out to make sure it worked. It didn't it didn't pick up hardly any sand on my stairs. and it kept spitting the leaves out. So when I call Doheny about the issue with the broom Customer care for the 2nd time would not help in the Chat they only said you need to return it when I asked for clarification on the long list of what can be returned and not from the chat they would not help me but only would say I needed to call. No help in getting my issue resolved. If it was just a mechanical issue that could be resolved with replacement, I would be happy but I no matter if I call or chat I would not get any help from anyone. So I tell you avoid this place and try to get your pool supply items else where.

Great customer service. The person I talked to was so helpful and courteous. He helped me get the right pool motor and filter. Throughly explained to me why I need to get the one he was recommending

I purchased a well pump IMPELLER .
I received this metal product in a plastic bag with no paper work. It was not the product i ordered. I called the Company on 5/15 and spoke with a lady (off shore) for more that 30 min explaining i received the wrong part , she informed me she would email the return information, it never came. On 5/19 i spoke with another man for over 45 min only to be informed i had to take a photo of the product. "I GAVE UP". They just don't want to refund my money. Don't buy from this Company.

Never again. Chargine 50% of the cost of a product to return an order made by mistake?! Nobody does this.

I just got done dealing with them and they have some of the most worthless customer service I have ever dealt with before in my life. Although, lol, the trend in customer service seems to be complete garbage and the last couple of years anyway.

I bought a small sand filter and pump from them about 3 years ago, and every year now I have had to replace plastic parts that keep breaking from the cold. It isn't like I'm in the Arctic though, I'm in Northeast Texas and it doesn't get extremely cold here for very long.

Aside from the parts on the filter being garbage, doheny's customer service is some of the worst I've ever dealt with. I had to replace the drain valve on the filter tank and when I originally tried to order the item, customer service first told me that they would need to create a support ticket, even though I told her that it was out of warranty and I wanted to purchase it directly. She then put me on hold and when she came back told me that it was out of warranty and they wouldn't cover it.

I told her I understood that and again explained that I wanted to purchase the item. She then told me that the item wasn't available any longer and I needed to buy a new pump, even though the pump that she was trying to sell me was the same pump that I have.

So I asked to escalate the call and spoke to someone who walked me through the process of looking up the manufacturer's part number in the filter manual, and provided me a part number for doheny's to order with. He stayed on the phone with me while I ordered the part and confirmed that I had the correct part, because I've been through this before with them where they sent me the wrong part.

When I received the part yesterday, it was apparent that it was for a different and much larger pump, so I called customer service to have them correct the problem. The customer service representative told me that the part I was looking for wasn't available and when I asked for a refund told me that they would only refund my money if I sent back the the part that they shipped me, and that I would be responsible for the shipping costs.

I told him that that was unacceptable and that I wanted to escalate the call, and he told me that there was no one available to take the call, so I contacted the BBB and PayPal in order to get a resolution. Another interesting factoid here is that their corporate phone number that is listed with both PayPal and the BBB for a means to contact for problem resolution is answered by an automated system that isn't set up correctly so no matter what number you punch in it doesn't do anything and after your third attempt it just hangs up on you.

I am of the opinion that Doheny should be avoided at all costs at this point, especially when I have found, after a brief Google search, another pump that is very similar for about 30% less through Leslie Pools.

customer service of offshore and very hard to understand, plus know nothing of pools or their products. Web site order is a joke. Wanted to ship to a job site but web substituted job site for billing address. FTH? Customer service said would take another 24 hour for their "Team" to fix. Didn't know if would get any kind of confirmation. So is shipment coming? When?

If I could give zero stars I would. They send out damage chlorine tablets under good ones and because I didn't dump out the entire 50lb bucket to make sure all were good, they won't do anything about it. I will never buy from them again!!!! I don't recommend anyone buying from this company....

FRAUD!
Tried to place an order online when it said my card could not be processed. At that exact moment my card was processed the full amount of $219.27.
When I called they told me it was a pre-authorization but in the next sentence the woman told me they charge the full amount when the order is placed.
They refused to help me with the situation and said I have to contact my bank. So, their system doesn't work and now I have to go fix the problem by dealing with my bank and claiming fraud.

I ordered 24 lbs of Drytek pool shock 68% for my husband’s pool cleaning business. Unfortunately, his clients lost their jobs and had to cancel their contracts. The order was placed March 3, 2025. I just wanted to return the item without a refund but customer service informed me they couldn’t take the order back because the DOT wouldn’t allow transport. Interesting because DOT allowed transport to me. Also, Doheny’s website states within 30 days chemicals unopened can be returned (yes I realize it was past the window but my issue was the DOT statement) - I brought this up and was told by a customer service supervisor this is not the case for chlorinated chemicals. I advised if the package was refused when delivered it would go back to Doheny’s as well as having been transported to me thru a ground shipment. Do NOT purchase chemicals thru this business, if you don’t refuse delivery you can’t return them.

I ordered my start up kit for this year. I point blank remember telling my husband “oh shipping is free now with $50 order and not $100 and the kit is a lil over $50” I got my start up kit on Sat (3 days ago). Then today I get a 24 box of Super Shock it that cost OVER $100. I go to my orders to look and guess what? My recent order is NOT listed. I contacted them to return them because we don’t need them. The label is $25.00… ok so over $100 of product, free shipping on $50+ but they charge us to return it back, when I DID NOT order Super shock it. Be CAUTIOUS! So this is how they are going to get repaid for cutting back in shipping charges..if this EVER happens again I will not continue business with this company again.. I’ve been a loyal customer since 2017

I called Doheny's to price match a heater that was $901 cheaper at 2 competitors. I went through the sales rep and then another sales rep Kiara. After showing them the competitors website and confirming the model numbers were identical, I was told "sorry we are not allowed to price match heaters per the manufacturer". However, prior to that conversation I spoke with the manufacturer who said is up to the seller how much they charge for the heater and they have no restrictions. After telling Kiara this, I was again told "we don't price match heaters". I called back again and got a second woman who was much more pleasant and said she would take a screenshot of the competitor website and send it to management but couldn't make any promises. It was quite disappointing to see Doheny's advertise their price match so broadly on their website yet not honor it on the phone. I would almost understand if I were asking them to give me money back but I was literally asking to give them money instead of a competitor.

Insanely fast shipping. Friday I ordered online at noon. it was out with the shipper at 3pm and in my hands just after noon today. not bad for half way across the country. i needed a cover lifter and it was one of the cheapest prices too! highly recommend!

We have had pools for 30 years and this is the 1st time we have a pool pump that lasts only 4 years. I tried to get some technical advice and check if Doheny has problems reported with this particular pump. The person I talked to had zero knowledge, was zero help and of course zero commercial effort. I would not recommend buying from them.

So, this cover was bought last August and put into service immediately. It was pulled off, rolled up and put into my storage shed for the Winter about mid-September. It was pulled out and put on the pool at the beginning of May 2024. It started bleeding plastic pieces from the bubbles in July. Later in August, when I was pulling the cover off to swim, it ripped. It didn't catch on anything. It just ripped from my pulling. It always goes back on the pool after the swim.
These problems shouldn't be manifesting on a cover that has only about 4 months of total usage. My last two covers,
which I purchased from Doheny's, both lasted 3 seasons. I didn't save my receipts from them so I couldn't make claims. This last time I did. I am very disappointed this time around. The cover did a fine job heating up the water. It just fell apart.
You state the warranty doesn't cover the bubble damage due to an unbalanced pool. Really? And how long would it need to be unbalanced for it to eat away the plastic? One day, a week, a month, the whole season? An unbalanced pool would be an uncomfortable pool to swim in. My pH is always where it should be. I assure you my grandkids and my wife would surely complain about the water quality. I run a simple ionizer, which I've used for about 9 seasons. This allows me to use LESS chlorine. So, that can't be it. I also use Easy Care Pooltec algaecide. There is nothing in it's information sheets that says it will harm plastic. That's all the chemicals I use. No need to use pH adjusters because it's never out of whack.
I really don't think ANY cover will make it to it's warranted life expectancy. But, it surely should last more than 4 months.
I expect a fairly decent credit towards another cover. It's been a month and no answer. DONT BUY ANYTHING FROM DOHENY'S!

I ordered a 18x36.cover in July but got a 16x32, big mistake. Doheny has a 30 day return policy.

And how do you return a winter cover once you open it up?

Called the 800 number. Could not understand the person on the other end. Chatted online with the service department and asked for a local number in the Phoenix area. They said they don't have a number. I will take my business elsewhere. I would rather buy local.

You were recommended by my son Eric in Philadelphia. The cover arrived earlier than I thought. Following the instructions on the box it came out easy and was easy to install and aligned correctly with our previous anchor points. Joanna was extremely helpful getting us to this point, even thought I thought I was driving her crazy. Thanks for the courteous service. Jim Straub
