Don’t even deserve one star
If I could give less than one star I would as they don’t even deserve the one.
I have a terrible fear of the dentist, so I had avoided booking an appointment for a long time. In that time the practice had changed to David Neal. I decided it was time to book in, so I explained I had been a patient when it had previously been another name but could I have an appointment please. They begrudgingly made me one (the receptionist I spoke to had a real attitude). The morning of my appointment I suffered an aura migraine which meant I couldn’t see, I literally couldn’t see in front of me, this was twenty minutes before my appointment time so my husband called and explained and asked to rebook, apologising for the short notice. They chucked me off their books. They refused point blank to rearrange, despite me being temporarily BLIND, citing that SEVEN YEARS ago, before they took over the previous practice, I had apparently missed an appointment. I made a complaint when I was able to, and I got the nastiest, snottiest replies from their incompetent manager (Hastings branch, by the way, and I not I’m not the only person complaining about them… why am I not surprised). I took it as far as I could but my complaint magically disappeared with no record of it being made.
This morning I have made another complaint about them. My husband is still registered with them and attended an appointment this morning. He was booked in for 0840. Our daughter had a doctor’s appointment at 0940, which gave plenty of time to get there, had the dentist been on time. I had no choice but to cancel her appointment for a second time (first time was due to illness), apologising profusely to the doctor’s surgery, because my husband was left waiting for an hour. He arrived ten minutes before his appointment time. So thanks to them she’s had to miss her appointment, and I still have no dentist. I also suspect they pull problems out of the air and I wouldn’t be surprised if they damage teeth since my husband has had so many infections since seeing them. They are completely and utterly incompetent, they have a vile attitude, they’re greedy and I wouldn’t now go with them if you paid me to. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE.
Oh and if you for one second doubt this, my husband heard a conversation the receptionist had about a patient who called in to cancel their appointment due to the death of a child. They told this person they still had to pay for their appointment. That is what these people are like. Merciless, greedy, inhuman. I hope they go under.

I’ve just had another appointment at my local David Neil in Kingstorphe, Northampton. I cannot emphasise enough her professional kind, polite and helpful Ms. Kayleigh and Ms. Zoe have been today. Despite me getting anxious and almost fainting from fear of my gum disease, they were both unbelievably kind and patient, having the AC on, a drink water some glucose tablets to get some energy, and even fanning me too really get back well. I wish I didn’t become so nervous and dizzy , but their approach was top class customer service and real human care. Real heroes! Wishing you all the best, and see you in three months!

I’ve just left the Langney shopping David Neal dentist outlet with my jaw dropping.
They contacted me for a check up. No price mentioned btw. I waited 40 minutes later than the appointment to be seen and it took less than 5 minutes to check my teeth. Yep everything fine, just as I thought, a little mirror to inspect and a prod here and there. Something I do regularly at home. I didn’t even receive so much as a clean. Probably no need as my teeth are absolute tip top condition. So when I headed for the door half thinking that it must have been just to check all was ok for the future appointment they had pushed my way for a crown at a cost of £1,500. I heard. Would you be paying by card? Heading back to the counter….Oh right, I said, how much is it? That’ll be £65.
£65!?! You’re joking! He didn’t do anything I remarked………I’m sorry she said and looked genuinely very sorry if not a tad guilty for having to rip people off. Then handed me the card machine. I was flabbergasted.
David Neal franchise are taking the mick. Find yourself a dentist that’s not so greedy on their pricing. Or at least does something for the money they ask for!

Numerous teeth and roots extracted
Compelled to let others know of another professional and competent visit I experienced. Nearly three hours of dental work so quite a major session but Im totally amazed. Some minor discomfort during the procedure, which we all expect, but afterwards and through now into 4 days later no pain or discomfort at all and Im chewing again - ha. Sayed said he gave me the good stuff for my numbing injections - sure did. I can't fault the professionalism or caring attentive service from all the team at this practice. My dental care will continue here for sure. Thankyou all. Give it a go yourself and you won't be disappointed I know it. - M

My son and I have been going to the dentist in Hayward Heath for 20 years and it’s now impossible to get there so have been looking for a new dentist for a while now and visited a couple of them At last we have found this lovely dentist so I’m impressed by their care to every detail so have no hesitation to recommend them the girls make you feel at home as soon as we arrived they were so friendly and Iv booked my first appointment next week

I started my treatment with palm in April 2025 as I was so petrified of dentist from a child I can’t thank palm and her team for making each visit to her beyond belief she made me so comfortable at this dentist she has gone above and beyond for me I was at ease with her every time I had a lot of work done and she and her colleague explained everything she was going to do I’m so pleased with the results and would recommend this dentist David Neil and palm if like me a very very nervous patient to anyone so I thank you palm from the bottom of my heart

£30,779 quote after a check up!!
Quoted around £3k for dental work after my first check up at Dave Neals, Langport, Somerset.
Went back 18mths later for another check up and was quoted £30,779 after paying over £200 for X-ray and AI that wasn’t even explained to me. 90% was for cosmetic!! Total rip off.

This dental practice ,from the initial appointment through to the final steps of my extensive treatment have provided an excellent experience.
Eial and Michael took time to explain the details of my treatment plan and explain any process that i was unsure of at every stage.The communication with everyone involved has been exemplary and professional .

Have been useing david neal hastings for 10 plus years but my old dentist left. went in today for on going treatment and was appaled at how i was treated by a receptionist and johnathon christensen dentist ? Not professional at all who told me dentistry is a lottery and comes with no guarantees if he could read the future he would win the lottery and not be a dentist he dod not want to do my treatment probably because it was nhs work he was aggressive and i felt bullied and could not wait to leave I WILL NOT BE GOING BACK use david neal at youre perril. Terrible !!!!!!

They’re kind, courteous, respectful and their pricing is always reasonable. Particularly given the current climate.
My Dentist Mr Hayes is exemplary.

Worse than no stars, should not be in business
We delayed this review as we were worried about "a knock on the door, being old and nervous".......But now ? We MUST warn folk. So, my wife went to see David Neal. £7,045 was the estimate. Surgical extraction, sinus lift, stent, and implant crown fit. I still have the paperwork. Went to N.Petherton dentist for a second opinion. Neuralgia in top r/h tooth. Nothing more. Course of meds sorted it out. Less than £100...................I believe this surgery is less than competent. Personally, I would rather use a blind monkey. To think we could have gone ahead with this. avoid Avoid AVOID, unless you like losing money, and pain. If anyone official reads this, can the surgery be reported, surely they are scammers ?

Dodge a bullet, avoid.
My wonderful and extremely competent holistic dentist retired so I thought I'd try this practice. Wow, really made me appreciate my original dentist even more. He hadn't been 'x ray happy', being aware of the detrimental effect on health. I only needed to see him yearly, the hygienist twice, and his skill was such that no issues were missed and I never needed an emergency appointment.
From the first interaction at reception with 'dragon lady', things then went downhill with the dentist who didn't give the impression of having much interest in general self care, so not much of an advert for a holistic approach to health.
Lacking in people skills to say the least, he hadn't bothered to read their form I had completed and didn't exactly put me at my ease. As I already had x rays from my previous practice I said that I would rather not have more if it wasn't necessary.
I also said that I was still attending my previous hygienist so did not require to see theirs.Thankfully I had not left my regular hygienist and was waiting until I knew if I felt comfortable at the new practice before changing. Thank heavens for that at least.
So, it seems that as I clearly wasn't going to be much of an earner for them they weren't really interested in me as a patient. I was sent a rather rude letter basically encouraging me to explore other dental practices better equipped to accommodate my requirements.
So it looks like I dodged a bullet there and I can only suggest you may want to do the same.

The treatment is always excellent
The treatment is always excellent. Alastair put me at ease and all procedures are pain free. I do have one concern and that is the reception desk( front of house) is a disgrace with open crisp packets, half drunk bottles scattered on the work surface. Not a good impression when coming in for treatment.
