Poor service in East Belfast store
I went into the East Belfast store at 11:20am this morning to have 1 tin of paint mixed. Crown don’t keep a record of previous shades purchased on your account, so I had to do a bit of digging to find the shade required. The young man that was working advised the machine would be switched off in 10 minutes and proceeded to serve a group of 3 males that came in after me. I stood behind them waiting to be served, only for the staff member to advise bluntly that he wouldn’t be mixing anymore paint. This was no more than a few minutes after I first entered the store, which is advertised as open to 12pm. I knew the exact shade I needed and only required 1 tin but he refused to serve me. Very poor service.

We contacted Crown Decorating Centre, Pride Park, Derby a few weeks ago to help us purchase intumescent paint for our house renovation. We would like to express our absolute gratitude to the support we received from Mike.
He explained how we go about ordering such an item, the regulations it requires and the amount required. Mike was courteous, helpful and supportive.
There was a delay in the paint arriving, but Mike dealt with this promptly and kept in touch with us the whole time.
We have used the decorating centre many times and always receive friendly staff and support. The store is welcoming and has absolutely everything you could need and more when you request it (in our case of course). Thank you Mike and team at Pride Park.

Visited today for the first time Kirkcaldy CDC 2/10/2026, very positive experience treated with friendly guys who couldn’t have been more helpful. David & Jack went the extra mile for us and answered all the questions I asked and followed this up with if we needed more help just to get in touch. Just reminded when we came away that we unfortunately have come in some instances to accept poor customer service….thankfully not today 5 stars to these guys

I visited my local branch in Lincoln and was served by Mandy, so helpful from start to finish. She took so much time and patience making sure we picked the right colours and have everything I needed. Would highly recommend seeing Mandy when you pop in she is a credit to the store!

I went into Seafield Centre Edinburgh
I went into Seafield Centre Edinburgh, first time visiting, I had a browse around, spoke with Jaimie, he was very helpful, I needed paint mixed with colours i provided, he was chatty, knowledgeable, and a good laugh, he gave me discount that was available in store, I was a very happy customer, I will be back, bonus!! Jaime carried my paint tins to my car.

I ordered some paint online and it…
I ordered some paint online and it stated clearly if ordered before 4pm I could expect next day delivery (also being free as I spent over a certain amount). It was later on in the evening (tuesday) that I placed my order, so assumed it wouldn’t arrive the next day it would maybe arrive Thursday….nothing came…
I contacted Crown on the Monday to ask where my order was, to then be told they would look into it. Didn’t get a response.
I then received an email to say it would be delivered the next day. I thought great, finally getting somewhere!
The next day I arrived back home to indeed find my order, however had been sent the wrong product 🤦🏻♂️
I again phoned up my local supplier and said I had been sent the wrong product to be told we can exchange it the next day. I decided to go down and swap it myself straight after the phone call.
The ONLY reason I asked for it to be delivered was I wouldn’t have been able to pick it up during working hours. After all the problems and disappointment, I wish I had just asked someone else to pick it up.
I highly doubt I will be back

I appreciate how frustrating it must have been when your order did not arrive within the expected timeframe, particularly as our website indicated the availability of next-day delivery. I also apologise for the lack of communication when you initially contacted us to enquire about the delay.
To make matters worse, after waiting for the order to arrive, you then received the incorrect product. I completely understand your disappointment, especially as the home delivery option was chosen specifically because collecting the paint during working hours was not convenient for you.
While I am pleased that the product was ultimately exchanged, I recognise that this required additional time and effort on your part and fell well short of the service standards we aim to provide.
Please accept our sincere apologies for the inconvenience and frustration caused. Richard at Wisbech deserves an award 🥇
My husband and I visited the Crown Decorating Centre in Wisbech last week. As always Richard gave us such a cheerful welcome back. His advice on paint and the relevant products is fantastic. We are doing a big project and his help is second to none. He is an absolute credit to the company , always giving first class Customer Service.
The only thing that sadly has changed is that he is no longer able to provide a delivery service which in this rural area has been such a bonus for local people and businesses. We know other trades people who have also missed this service. Please bring it back and enable Richard to excel once more in this area of Customer Service. Thank you.

Old stock, rude staff
I bought paint from Crown in Stirling. It was clearly old stock as the pigment had solidified at the bottom and would not mix as it was rock hard.
I phoned to ask why are they selling such crap paint and the manager refused to discuss any further and put the phone down on me. I travelled to the store to return the paint and was met with the extremely rude manager who was very passive aggressive and clearly trying to antagonise me and my colleague.
Amongst his responses were:
“I don’t make the paint”
" I didn't force you to buy the paint"
“I am not obliged to give you a refund”
“I don’t care”
What a disgraceful experience and poor customer service. Never again. I had been a customer of theirs for over 15 years.
