John. that's all i need to say. i had a web advisor who went by the name of john. i am a student who has never encountered debt collectors or anything of this magnitude before and rightfully so i was horrified of this interaction because i thought i was about to get berated for being a financial idiot. john comforted me and gave me clear and concise advice about what options i had and even when i was accepting defeat. john continued to give me alternative options. we should all strive to be like john. i know how out of place this review is and i hope this clearly shows the impact john had on me. if i was to ever get into debt collection trouble again i would pray and hope my control account would be the agency i had to face. thank you to my control account but more importantly to john. and if you see this my control account, please give john chocolate ice cream with immediacy. add the cost to my debt if needed.

Bullied for a made up £15 charge
I'm being constantly chased and harrassed for a £15 admin charge on a debt that was raised in error by Fedex.
Fedex raised two invoices in error, the 2nd of which I wasn't even aware of until I was sent a threatening letter by Account Control. Since then Fedex have confirmed their mistake and cancelled the incorrect debt, however Account Control continue to chase me on a £15 admin charge, for a debt that did not even exist and was created in error by their client.
I refused to be bullied into paying this made up charge. This business clearly survives on threatening the vunerable, sending numerous texts, calls, emails and letters till they get their way.
Cowboys
We got a letter from these Cowboys asking for payment because we had 'outstanding payments' with UPS. Since we have a direct debit with UPS, not sure how we would have payments pending. We called UPS and they realised they missed an invoice and never allocated it to our account but they will send me an email to confirm this was now sorted.
A few days later we get another letter from the ControlAcoount cowboys demanding payment. Had a look online to find an email to send them the confirmation from UPS that there was a mistake but it got sorted. Funny enough, you can't email these shower of .... so, we called. The horrible lady on the phone said she doesn't care as she still wants her commission... That kinda sums up their company.
After arguing with her asking for an email to send the proof, we had to hang up the phone.
We contacted UPS again and they assured us this was sorted and sent us another email confirmation. A few days later we also received a Credit Note from UPS for the mistake made. So, guess it's all sorted? Nope, not at all.
A few more days pass and we get another letter from the Cowboys, this time with penalties and a 'we have no alternative but to pass you to our Litigation Dep.'
Can you contact them by email to send all the paperwork to show them its sorted? God no.
So call again, another horrible person demanding us to pay them direct and they don't care that 'ups says it's sorted'...surely you work on behalf of UPS so you should listen to what they say?
Anyway, they are not getting paid and I will show all the paperwork saying SORTED in court if I have to.
Hopefully bankruptcy knocks around the corner, companies like these deserve everything coming to them.

I have paid my bill and spoken to MULTIPLE members of staff who assure me my case is closed. I continue to receive threatening letters about my ‘debt’.

All I can say is don't bother arguing with them , take it up with bank and dispute the payment once paid for. people are right, these are scammers and greedy. Even customer service sound really fed up of their life and lies they have to repeat to people everyday.
CONTROLACCOUNT – Harass Now, Think Never!
Where do I begin with Controlaccount, the debt collectors FedEx must have dug out from a bin behind a dodgy kebab shop at 3am?
Imagine a company whose entire business model is sending increasingly threatening emails over £78 worth of "import charges" on a parcel I didn’t even order, didn’t want, and which was literally sent back to Japan faster than you can say “not my problem.” That’s Controlaccount for you.
They could teach a masterclass in How to Harass People for Nonsense Fees 101. “Pay now or face further action!” they cry, like debt-collecting Shakespearean villains – all drama, no plot. I swear their next letter will probably arrive on a flaming scroll tied to a raven.
It’s admin fees galore – they basically want me to pay for them sending me invoices I never agreed to. What next? A charge for the email I read? A surcharge for blinking while reading it?
And you can forget trying to explain the situation to them. Talking to them is like arguing with a toaster: cold, unresponsive, and likely to burn you.
Companies like this shouldn’t just be shut down, they should be launched into the sun with a postage-paid FedEx label.
To sum up: if you enjoy being harassed over imaginary fees for items you didn’t even keep, by a company with the charm of a parking ticket and the ethics of a damp sock, then Controlaccount is for you! Everyone else – run.

Terrible company to work with. Anyone looking to keep a customers after using this service steer far away from control account. Had a long bout with them and Fedex over incorect tax and duty charges against me. i previously had the charges cleared as they were found to be incorrect, however this second time i was able to get 0 communication between the two companys who work together... was told that they would not take any form of contact as proof that i was trying to resolve the issue and told me simply pay the charge today or we take you to court. i was on holiday out of the country and simply asked to extend the deadline to pay until the end of the week so i could get in contact with fed to say the had incorectly taxed me and the respone was extremely rude and told me no exceptions. Horrible people who do not care about anyone but checking a box to say they got your money. Will not be using fedex again as a result of this horrible company.

Like many of the innocent people below, I too received a demand for payment from these SCAMMERS who don't seem to understand that 1. we are in a global pandemic 2. are navigating various lockdowns so may be staying in different locations, 3. any contract I have is with DHL and not with these scammers who are demanding payment of their frivolous 'fees' and 4. I have paid any funds owed as a result of import duty and VAT directly to DHL, so there is no debt, and 5. I did not authorise DHL to share my details with you so this goes against GDPR and Data Protection.
Therefore, stop writing letters to me demanding £11.10 when I have already told you I owe you NOTHING. Get your £11.10 from DHL, who should have never sent the account over to begin with. I have sent numerous messages through their online portal and they have only responded to ONE, a robotic 'you still owe us money'. I OWE YOU NOTHING!!!
Like the person below said, I am MORE THAN HAPPY to go to court. We are in lockdown and I HAVE TIME!!!!
Edit: So Control Account demanded my details and because I didn't say 'how high' when they said jump, they are reporting my experience as 'not a genuine experience'. Bullies and scammers! Who has time to lie about something like this? If this is not a genuine experience then the letter I received from you demanding payment is also not genuine, and I owe you nothing.
