I highly recommend this tour company for visits to China. The 4 star hotels were exactly that... And then some. The guides and drivers were all very friendly and knowledgeable. One driver even invited us to his home for dinner. We were able to change our dailty itinerary a few times without hesitation and one guide even recommended a Chinese foot massage at the end of a long day. That was really a welcomed suggestion.

Our China tour by China Odyssey Tours was outstanding. Roger Lee was our contact at the tour company and he did a fantastic job for us. He was extremely thorough and responsive to every question or request that we sent him. He customized the tour for us and everything came together perfectly. The hotels in every city were great. The Yangtze Explorer river cruise was wonderful. All of our guides did a great job for us. They met us at the airports, train stations, or boat docks and they saw us off to the next destination. The guides helped us check-in to our hotels and even went to the rooms with us to ensure that we were happy with the accommodations. The guides helped us check-in at the airports and walked us to the security Gates. The guides also would accompany us to a bank ATM to make sure that we did not have a problem withdrawing cash. The guides took us to lunch and helped us order the foods that we wanted to try. The drivers were all very good and all of the vehicles were in excellent condition. If you are looking for a great tour of China, we very highly recommend China Odyssey Tours.

I chose "China Odyssey Tours" for my travel in Beijing quite by chance: I had decided to accompany my husband in a job trvel there but I had had some problems in getting visa from the Chinese embassey in Qatar (where I live) because of their request of an invitation letter. I didn't know how to do and I was about to give up on my trip when a friend spoke to me about "China Odyssey Tours".
I explined the issue to Mr. Reinself (the travel agent who has been following me in my trip since the beginning) and he, not only solved for my the question of the invitation letter in one single day, but also packed a programme of journey which was completelly tailor-made to meet my needs.
I passed in Beijing 4 awesome days: I enjoyed the amazing views and the historical attractions of the city with a personal car and driver (both impeccable) and a personal turistic guide (Jeff Ma: a very knowledgeable whom I'd like to thank above all for having me feel welcome in China).
I reccommend this company to anyone above all for the professionalism and the availability.

Recently returned from an excellent tour arranged by consultant reinself wei. He was a pleasure to deal with super efficient. Alway with a quick response to anything asked of him. The arrangements went like clockwork. All journeys hotels guides and cars were excellent. Thank you will obviously use you again

We will highly recommend this company and each of the individuals assigned to guide and drive us as well. We chose the 5 star hotel option,
which did not disappoint. Even our last minute request to upgrade our air travel within the country was promptly & graciously accommodated.

There cannot be any better tour organizers than Haley...professional, reliable, polite and friendly. All but one of the tour guides were also very good, even though with some, their English was difficult to understand.

The hotel in Beijing was supposed to be a non-smoking hotel. This was not the case, unfortunately, and our reporting this to the front desk didn't seem to be of much help. There was an unpleasant older woman on the front desk also.

My husband and I spent 8 days in China where we had our own personal Odyssey guide in each of the cities we visited. From the moment I started liaising with their Travel Consultant Susan Su, every detail was perfect. Susan gave us very clear information about our options for tour, pricing and payments, information about guides and vehicles used, hotels. The extra hints they gave us about visiting China were very helpful. Having our own guide was so easy when it came to entering and navigating all of the main attractions, being dropped off and picked up without hassle, and all the information they had to share about each place we visited. They guided us on where and what to eat, helped us check into each hotel, made sure we were safely seated on our train and ensured we got to our plane safe and sound. Drivers were amazing how they maneuvered safely through all the traffic and the vehicles were comfortable, clean and always had fresh bottled water for us.Our tour was exceptionally good value for money and hassle free, and we would tour again with Odyssey - and would definitely recommend them for China. They certainly know what they are doing and how to do it well.

I booked my tour from Australia. i just let Tom Zhou know waht I wanted to do and he did the rest. I'm an elderly person who has visted most countries in the world I travelled alone by train and plane. He answered all my questions and went above and beyond to make my tour perfenct. I would certainly recommend China Odyssey to overseas and domestic travellers.

Maple Zheng is a superb travel consultant.  The current trip is our second with her, the first being in 2017.  For the 2018 trip she carefully designed the itinerary that includes all the must see sights in Beijing, Xian and Chengdu.  She patiently answered our questions and made adjustments to the itinerary that we suggested by the next day.  We will be calling on her  again when we make plans for another trip to China.

In 2017, we first went to China and were happy with our experience with China Odyssey. We used the same planner as last time, Vincent, and he was great at setting up our tour.

There were some hikes we a little off the beaten path, but we could tell from the pictures on line, they would be spectacular. He knew the right guide for that.

Later, when it came time for more traditional touring, and stories of the places we visited, he knew the right guide for that.

Melinda Gong, who has such good knowledge of the hikes in the area, and Terry Zhang who had much local knowledge, and was a perfect guide for the Li River cruise...they were both excellent. BTW, if you are anywhere near Yangshou or Guilin, be sure to do that cruise. It is stunningly beautiful.

I read a few reviews online and contacted Odessey to find out more info. I didn’t have to wait long to get an email back from one of the consultant who is Haley, she has an outstanding customer service. She gave me advices and help me from the beginning to the end of my trip. Services,tours and tour guides were excellent.
We went to Xian, arrived late at night and was pick up from the airport by Nancy. Again she was our Xian tour guide. We had a good time from the beginning to the end of our trip in Xian. Our kids love her very much!
Our next destination was Beijing, June and Kurt were our tour guides. They are all knowledgeable and do their best to make our trip memorable!
Through my experience, we have to have an English tour guide otherwise it is hard to get around!
Thanks to Hayley, Nancy, June, Kurt and Steven and especially the bus drivers for your hard work to make our trip went smoothly from the beginning to the end :)

Fantastic friendly and knowledgeable guides, skillful drivers, a wonderful experience.

We are extremely pleased with each of the guides, drivers, tours and hotels while in Tianjin, Xian, and Beijing. Each of the guides and drivers were professional, on-time, knowledgable and extremely helpful including getting us checked in at the airports and hotels.

Our guides, Charlie in Tianjin, Andrew in Xian, and Alice in Beijing (and the drivers) were simply exceptional. We spent the most time with Alice in and around Beijing. She is a tremendous guide and we just adored her. She made our time in Beijing an experience of a lifetime and we will be forever grateful.

From the time we dealt with Roger at Odyssey Tours initially in the planning of our trip, through each experience, Odyssey came through and delivered a totally awesome experience.

Each and every hotel met or exceeded our expectations except one. The service, room, facilities and breakfast were great. There was only one hotel that fell far short of it's four star rating and that was Blossom Hill Inn. The room was dirty, we never had hot water in the sink, it had no safe, poor lighting in the room, the breakfast was the worst of all the locations. I would recommend not using this hotel in the future.

Each and every guide was excellent. Blake was knowledgeable and had a great personality. Candy was very knowledgeable but at times hard to fully understand. Cathy went out of her way to assist us and was well liked. Annie was great and would help with anything asked. Jessie was in the top three of guides with her great English and her personality. Stephen was very knowledgeable and friendly. Samona was in the top three with a personality that would melt a glacier, great exuberance. Jessica was excellent in her history and experience. All showed us parts of China we would never experience without them.

All the drivers were great, some more helpful than others. All got us to where we needed to be on time and without any incidence.

Our experience with you has been excellent. We greatly appreciate everything you have done and respect your experience and expertise. We have highly recommended you and Odyssey and will use your services in the future.

12 Day Tailor Made China Tour with Odyssey Tours
We have just returned from completing a tour of China. Right from the initial preparation of the itinerary with Haley we cannot speak highly enough of the company and its personnel. Arriving in Beijing we were warmly greeted by Moko Ma whose knowledge and sharing of information set the tone for our very enjoyable tour of China. He even flexed the itinerary to take advantage of weather conditions. Great job Moko! In Xian our guide was Donna Wu. She guided us through her local area and in particular the very interesting site of the terracotta warriors. In Chongqing we had a brief journey from the airport to the river and were looked after very well by Cherry. Our next destination was Yichang where we were looked after by the lovely Amber Tan. We wish we could have enjoyed a longer time with Amber as she had so much that she wanted to share with us. In Shanghai we were guided by the very competent and knowledgeable Jeff Zhu who opened our eyes and ears to the wonders of this city. All drivers were very competent and safe when transporting us in very busy traffic conditions.
We need to make special mention of the Yangtze Gold 1 staff and in particular the manager/purser Shirley who made our cruise problem free; particularly with the language as we were the only two non-Asians on the cruise.
