Where should I start! Myself & my wife viewed a property, which we loved and was perfect for us & our daughters. We contacted them on the Monday just after we viewed the property to register our interest. We had previously filled out an application on Friday because we just knew we would love it. I rang on on the Tuesday morning to see what was happening with our application only to be told that someone else had beaten us too it and there application was being looked at. A couple of hours later I received a call saying the applicants had withdrew so we were next in line. She said she would send our application to the Landlady for her approval. The following day I received a call saying the Landlady was happy to proceed with our application. Consequently she sent out the link for our reference checks. We filled out the reference check forms online and sent our deposit to reserve the property. We also received our draft tenancy agreement.
We didn't hear anything back from them until Monday morning when I had to chase them up. I was told on the phone that everything was fine but we needed a guarantor. We had pre-warned them that this would probably be the case and had also mentioned it on the 1st application form that was approved by the Landlady. She told me that an online reference form would be sent out to my chosen guarantor and all being well we should have the keys by the end of the week after the property was cleaned. On Tuesday I called twice to make sure everything was fine when I was told that another application had been accepted and that the landlord was going with them because they offered more money. I was absolutely shocked as the day before I was told we could have the keys by the end of the week. They have refunded my so called "holding deposit". We are absolutely gutted as my daughters were so excited and we had already started packing and had given our current Landlord our notice. So I'm now left with a half packed house and 6 weeks to find a new one as my Landlord is selling this property.
Absolutely disgusting way to run a business this is people's lives they are messing with. Unfortunately what they have done is not illegal its just morally wrong. I don't know how many applications they have been going through as they were completing our reference checks. Also the fact that we have been given the tenancy agreement with the Landlady's name and address is surely against Data Protection Act if there saying that these forms mean nothing.
NOT A NICE COMPANY, WHO TREAT PEOPLE BADLY.

Awful communication!

Well, haven't had the best experience! Viewed a property, loved it, called the same day and put an offer in. The flat was originally £950 pcm but we (me and a friend) offered £900 which the landlord accepted. So we paid the deposit, completed all the referencing etc, signed an agreement and that was that.
4 days before I was planning to move in, i called up asking if everything was ok because we hadnt heard anything from them, and got told that they were still waiting to hear back from the landlord as another application had been put forward. I was very confused because i was under the impression that by paying a holding deposit means the property was being held for you. Anyway i find out that the reason they allowed the other applicants to apply was because they had offered more money. So, of course, we didn't get the flat. I asked about all the documents we had signed but apparently they were all 'drafts' and meant nothing, "all part of the application process" and didnt mean the property was ours. I asked about the money we had paid and we were told that it will be refunded but I'm feeling sceptical - no money back yet. Absolutely do not recommend, awful communication and lead me on to believe i was going to move in only to be left back at square one in the middle of a pandemic. Thanks for nothing!

Not sure where to begin

Not sure where to begin. We saw a property we really loved went to see it, applied, paid fees and waited to hear back on how our application went. We was able to check where our references was up to and they all went through. Left it a while still no news. So after a few phone calls and told to expect a call we was then told they was expecting a call from us? Anyway, they said the house was 100% ours. Brilliant news, contract was signed and due to excitement I went out and bought bits for the house. The move in date was 28th June, it was to rent a new build. Getting close to the move in date still no information from Cherish property. We was ringing and emailing but hardly got any info back from them. We was constantly chasing this. Then we received an email from the office manager stating the property will be ready in 2 weeks time but they couldn't give us a move in date.

We waited up to the 2 weeks and still no information. Again, ringing/emails waiting days for a response to be told they are not getting anywhere with the developers but it should be ready within a few weeks. At this point my partner was already serving his notice in the apartment, luckily his landlord understood the situation and let him withdraw his notice. Random calls from energy company asking how the new house is going. Then we received an email saying once the road has been filled outside we should be able to receive firm dates. We checked on the property several times the road had finally been filled. We left it for 2 days and contacted them checking if they had any update for us to receive an out of office from the main person that seemed to know all the answers was off for 2 weeks, a quick courtesy email to let us know this would of been appreciated. Anyway from this told again we would receive a 'full update' by the end of the day, I've lost count of how many times we was told this to receive nothing.

Overall cherish property has been a massive waste of time, from sales & lettings teams to managers that seem to have no authority to help the situation. I don't think at any point cherish property contacted us with any news, we done all the chasing to find basic information out. From a move in date of 28th June to middle of August with hardly any info, false promises the property shouldn't of even been put up in the first place if it is nowhere near ready.

I wish I listened to all the bad reviews I have come across about Cherish property as I would of stayed away and wouldn't rate this company or staff at all. Shocking actually.

From this they have refunded the fees we paid, tbh I think that was the quickest they had ever got back to us. We will not get our time back and are back to square one looking for a house which we could of been moved in and settled in by now. Really disheartening & disappointed.

lies, unprofessional, rip offs

Long and short of it; disjointed customer service from start to end. Their whole ‘hybrid technology and tradition’ sounds fancy and all, but the system just didn’t work.

I viewed a property and loved it so made an application right away.

A week later I got a call from the application processing company that Cherish choose to use(!!). They discussed parts of my application saying it had been approved, but I hadn’t received any confirmation from Cherish. I emailed the company to ask for an update, I received a wishy washy reply that ignored the question. I called 4 times over the next few days, got no answer at all.

I received more confusing emails and a voicemail about making plans from energy suppliers etc. ahead of a move in date from the external application processing company. On the same day, I got an email from Cherish saying my application was declined. I rang Cherish to get an explanation, and they said info from what me and my reference had submitted was missed out when passed between the two companies. I was told the application would be opened again so they could correct the info they missed out. After 2 days I hadn’t heard back and it was 3 days before the supposed move in date at this point so I was chasing it up with a bit of urgency. I called the applications company and they said the application hadn’t actually been reopened like Cherish had told me!

On the supposed move in date an electricity company called me thinking I had already moved in.

I called Cherish 12 times, left voicemails and got no answer after that call.

A week later I was emailed by Cherish asking for my bank details so they could return ‘part’ of my admin fee back. I was fuming because they had admitted there were mistakes made their end and it was so so clearly obvious I hadn’t done anything wrong so I challenged why I was still being charged. It’s not like we’ve all got £246 (the admin fee) to throw around!

When I called to discuss this, the person I spoke to hung up on me part way through the call. The manager, complaints manager and the person I spoke to on the phone all gave different versions/explanations of this and gave a bit of a backhanded apology ‘sorry you felt this was the case’ rather than owning it.

I had to ask 5 times for anyone to confirm the amount that was proposed to be paid back too.

It gets better…

After receiving a response to my complaint stating that they spoke with the application processing company (Goodlord) etc. etc. Goodlord called me 2/3 days later asking how I was getting on in my new flat!!!!!!!! They obviously hadn’t been in touch at all. They were offering me some of my fee back, but I was arguing I shouldn’t be paying a penny for their mistakes AND the service was awful. It also meant I was messing my landlord around because they couldn’t make plans without knowing if I was moving out or not.

The complaint went further, making the whole dispute last over 4 months. In the end I only got part of the fee back, which they claimed was a ‘good will gesture’. Reading the other comments below backs up how unprofessional the company and its staff are. Save yourself the hassle and don’t bother. I felt ripped off and they just lie.

Cherish property’s Manchester stay…

Cherish property’s Manchester stay away from. Saw a flat on there site. Emailed agent for a viewing. Sophie who responded back to me said via email if Friday 5pm suited me! I replied YES I can do Friday but after couple of days I didn’t get any sort of confirmation from her so I rang the office to confirm the viewing. This took a number of phone calls to finally get through. Spoke to Sophie who confirmed my viewing time and date and also got a text confirmation then. On Friday I turned up 10mins early to view the flat waited for 20mins nobody turned up to conduct the viewing. Rang the office which is a 0800 number so my credit was getting rinsed and nobody would answer the phone. I emailed them if anyone is turning up! no response. I even buzzed the flat I was viewing just incase she was in the flat. Eventually I waited 40 mins I even finished work early to come to the viewing which was annoying. Very unprofessional that they couldn’t ring me to cancel the viewing if she couldn’t attend.

JANICE BANCROFT AND STUART LAW ARE RIP…

JANICE BANCROFT AND STUART LAW ARE RIP OFFS AND HAVE A TEAM OF UNPROFESSIONAL BULLIES.
Where do I start.
I looked round a property of there’s that looked completely different to the images as it was filthy and really worn. The lady showing us round had a child with her and was very scatty and just told me to wonder round. The child was running up and down the stairs. I thought she was the owner of the property with her child being there but she stated she worked for cherish.
I really liked the properties potential and the lady promised me it would be fully feel cleaned and completely repainted to look new. I explained that if that was the case I would love to take it but only if it was spotless. She assured me this was going to be done that week anyway.
My tenancy started on the 19th November.
Three days before cherish arranged that I move in on the 19th and they meet me on that day with the keys ect.
The morning of the 19th came and I’d had no contact off cherish with times or anything. I rang the office and spoken to Sophie who had been helpful before this day.
She advised me that the house hadn’t been cleaned and the cleaners had let them down. She said we would have to move everything until tomorrow.
I explained that wouldn’t be possible as we were on the last day of our hotel stay and I came up with a solution of having my own cleaner come to the property that day and if cherish could pay her.
She said she would ask management if that was ok and get back to me and I said no problem I’ll see you at one.
I was on my way to the property with my two children and realised I hadn’t heard back from her and so I called the office where a man answered and said Sophie was on her lunch so he would leave a message.
I said oh well I’ll be at the property in ten minutes so I’ll just speak to her myself.
He then dropped the bomb she wasn’t coming.
I was sat outside the property it had taken me an hours drive and she wasn’t even here.
I informed the man I needed someone to get here as I was here with my children,
Credit to him he came straight away.
I then got a rude uninvited email from Sophie saying she hadn’t confirmed 1pm even though she had been on speaker phone in my car confirming and this was also confirmed on a previous email.
Anyway I moved past that as a misunderstanding and when the man arrived he did apologise on her behalf.

Upon entering the property I could see no cleaning or painting had taken place.
It was so cold and the lights were not coming on,
It was then we realised there was a prepayment metre with a debt.

The house
Was absolutely disgusting. It was beyond filthy. On close inspection it was so dirty,
The fridge was moldy. I had to go and buy cleaning products and we had to clean with cold water as then we realised the boiler was broken.
We had zero hot water. Me and my cleaner had to clean for 2 days to get the house clean.
No one showed us round. No one gave us a nice welcoming. No one explained how anything works

Then a few days later my four year old child made a shocking discovery.
In the boiler cupboard there were two rat traps rat poison and droppings.
My daughter almost picked it up,
I was sick to my stomach.
I emailed cherish and it took them three weeks to remove this.
They tried to also play down the severity of this and said it was in an inaccessible place. It wasn’t inaccessible as my daughter found it and it’s in a boiler cupboard that has the same door as the bedroom doors and bathroom doors and it’s floor level.

They then said they was going to do an investigation to my complaint.

They then sent me various emails that were unapologetic and just shameless excuses.
Emails that were trying to either blame me or just blatantly lie.

It has been a back and forth and in the meantime no one has fixed the boiler because no one cares.

My first months rent was due on the 19th and I held back £400 to cover my cleaning expenses plus the £100 they offered me in compensation.
£100 for having a filthy house with rat poison and 6 weeks of no hot water and paying a pre paid electric metre with debt.

Anyway now they say if I do not pay £180 they will try to evict me and my children.

So not only have my six weeks in my new property been hell they are now threatening and trying to bully me.

All my neighbors have said cherish property are crooks and the worst kind.
They take your money and do zero to manage the properties.
Quick to send threatening emails but don’t even fix things as that’s not important.

They try to scaremonger people and it needs to stop.
I advise everyone to avoid and I am taking this further
