From Greatness to Ridiculous
In the 1980s and 1990s I ordered EVERYTHING from Chadwicks. The clothing was beautifully styled, quality material, amazing variety, and good prices. Always true to the catalog, and great customer service. After living abroad for a period of time, I came back in 2010 to discover EVERYTHING had changed drastically. Ill-fitting, poorly made, low thread count, not as advertised, small selections, wrong sizing, and ridiculously high prices. Terrible customer service. The company returned my last attempt at returning items, even marked through the shipping label they had given me to use. The box was completely torn up.
Please, STOP claiming you are an American company.
Poor Business Practices
Ordered a skirt. Then, immediately called to cancel the transaction. I found a number of suspect things on the site that made me reconsider dealing with the company. The customer service representative I spoke to said the transaction had already been processed, so my request couldn't be honored. Fortunately, I paid via PayPal, and when speaking to the customer service representative there, I was told the transaction was pending, but hadn't gone through.
I also want to add that the Chadwick's Customer Service number with its various options just cycles through the menu repeatedly. The only option that worked was for New Orders. This is how I got transferred to a live customer service representative after speaking to someone who had me repeat all of my information to then end up telling me she couldn't be of service.
I would never deal with this company again!
Mixup Order -Wrong name and shipping Addr. Charged to me
I purchased via phone a cardigan on 11/14/25 via order # W9190755 and paid via my Citi Master Card. When my Order Confirmation was emailed to me it has an incorrect shipping address and name on it, so I emailed Chadwick of the mixup. They never corrected it and I haven’t received the cardigan sweater. The charge showed up on my Citi statement, which I disputed and Citi did a credit back to me. After they investigated with Chadwick, who sent them the Order confirmation with the wrong name and shipping address, Citi reversed the charge back to me.
DON'T RECOMMENT-NO CUSTOMER SERVICE
Ordered a wool blazer from them and when I got it, it was not of the quality that I expected, and it was very itchy.
Sent it back per their instructions and the BIG SILENCE TREATMENT.
No customer service, no live body on the other side.
So, looks like I'm out the $79.99 + tax.
DON'T RECOMMEND AND WILL NEVER EVER DO BUSINESS WITH THEM AGAIN.

I am very angry about my experience with Chadwicks. I ordered a pair of pants. The pants were too large. I sent them back and requested a smaller size. The pants never came. After several weeks, I called customer service and was told that I would receive a refund of $34.19. I paid $44.99 for the pants plus shipping charges which put my total cost over $64. Do not order from Chadwicks.
Outrageous shipping charges
So disappinted! I have purchased many clothes from them in the past and have been very pleased with the quality. However, outrageous shipping charges ($17.95 on a $69 order of two pieces), will prevent me from ever ordering from them again. Chadwicks - listen to your customers. This is a prevalent complaint among all Trust Pilot reviews. You have to be losing many, many loyal customers.
Paid for a sweater 3 times that I still do not have!
The first time I ordered the sweater it was too large. I filled out the form for an exchange. I waited 6 weeks to received my exchange When it did not arrive I called customer service (in Korea). They had canceled my order and returned my money minus shipping, handling, fuel surcharges and tax ( over $20). I was told if I wanted the sweater I would have to order it again plus the additional charges. As it was a gift, I ordered it again. When the package arrived it was someone else's order with my name and address on the outside of the package. I called customer service again (in Korea) . She said she would send the sweater without charge as I had already paid for it. 10 minutes later I received a message that she had charge my credit card again!!! I HAVE PAID FOR THIS SWEATER 3 TIMES AND I STILL DO NOT HAVE IT!!!

Very disappointed in what used to be my go-to catalog company. The shipping, support, etc. has gone down hill drastically. I reached out three times to resolve a duplicate order issue online and never received a response. The I called customer service and was told it would be resolved - three weeks later I had to call again. Will not be shopping here any longer.
Nothing but aggravation and failure to honor merchandise credit
Emailing them was fruitless. Calling customer service is pointless, unless frustration and aggravation are what you're after. Bottom line: They will not honor my merchandise credit that has no expiration date. This company was better years ago. Now, I'll take my business elsewhere.

This is regarding the vip membership scam. I was signed up without my consent - probably with a small pop up window . I am a senior citizen with low vision and did not realized this had happen. it was many months before I saw the charges on my credit card! Nightmare phone calls to only get a partial refund

Return gone missing
After 4 wks Chadwicks has still not "processed" my return for exchange. I was told to wait and I might receive an email in a few weeks. Chadwicks charges the highest shipping/handling rates in their market segment but doesn't handle returns and exchanges is a reasonable and professional time frame.
HORRIBLE Customer Service!!
HORRIBLE Customer Service!!! I placed an order on their website for two dresses. 45 minutes after placing the order, I decided I didn't want the dresses. I emailed customer service, gave the order number and item numbers/sizes, and explained I'd changed my mind and wanted to cancel. I received NO response (not even an automated acknowledgement of my request) for 24 hours. When I did finally receive a response, it was a form-letter sounding response that said they couldn't cancel the order because it had already shipped. I've received no notification from Chadwick's that my order shipped, and when I click on Order Status, it shows "In Process." Do yourself a favor and avoid buying from this merchant. This was my first time shopping with Chadwick's and also my last.
Unauthorized VIP sign up and monthly charges
I am apparently not the only one concerned with having been signed up for the Chadwick’s VIP Program without my knowledge or consent. I have unknowingly been charged a monthly fee for quite some time. I have tried several times to call the company and have been Disconnected each time. Cannot Seem to locate A way to cancel online either. My only hope is that they will respond to an email. Aside from that the only option I have is canceling the credit card to remove their access. This means that I will never order from this company again and I am posting this as a warning to other potential customers so you do not get signed up for more than you bargained for!
Chadwick's came to my rescue.
I have shopped at Chadwick's for many years. I was especially grateful when I was teaching school; as their clothing was conservative and priced well. I have since retired and also lost a few pounds of weight. I needed to update my wardrobe to accommodate the weight loss. Chadwick's came to the rescue. I love their many style options and the quality of the products. I recently purchased several items and again, Chadwick's came through. I love Chadwick's.
Regular to short. Tall too long.
I'm just disappointed in the length of their women's pants. I'm 5'9" and take a 32-33 inseam. Their regular is 31" and when I sit down the hem comes up to my calf. :( The tall is way too long (34" but it seemed longer) and I would need to hem it. That's a 3" difference! Chadwicks should sell women's pants by inseam length like they do men's.

HORRIBLE COMPANY!!!!! First they sold my information to every catalog company out there. Then then set me up for a "rewards program and charged me $20 a MONTH!!!! without my knowledge or consent! Who does that??? Criminals. This company should be sued. HOW DO YOU SIGN PEOPLE UP FOR A 20 DOLLAR MONTHLY CHARGE WITHOUT THIER KNOWLEDGE BECAUSE THERE WAS SOME TINY BOX I CHECKED OR DID NOT UNCHECK. ----YOU TRICKY DISHONEST COMPANY!!!! Great tops - terrible, irritating tags!
They post “reviews” (all positive) on their website, but there is literally no way to leave a reivew or make a comment. I have three ribbed tops (HD082) I really like in different colors - but the tags in the back of the neck feel like barbed wire. And they are sewn in so tight you can’t remove them without destroying the garment.
CHADWICK'S CLOTHES - POOR QUALITY
This is the second tweed blazer that I have received & both have been defective. I have paid a PREMIUM shipping cost ($15.49) both times only to have items that were no more than yard sale quality shipped to me. I also paid the return shipping cost on the first defective blazer. BOTH blazers I have received had buttons that were literally hanging on by a thread, completely off the blazer & dropped in the bag, or missing altogether. Additionally, what is sold as a Petite size is NOT a petite by any measurement, the item is completely mis-sized. The overall quality, material, & construction of this item is very poor. Where is Chadwick's quality control (QC)? Is anyone inspecting items when Chadwick's receives them from their suppliers or before they ship items to customers? Obviously the answer is there is no QC & there is no inspection of good prior to shipping. It would appear that items that are returned are repacked & shipped to the next person ordering that item. Chadwick's clothes used to be a nice reasonably priced line with good style, made from quality materials, & well constructed...no so any longer. I have been a Chadwick's customer literally for decades (since 1988) & am completely disappointed by the downfall in their quality. Will no longer be ordering from there.
