I cannot recommend Blackadders highly enough. From start to finish, the service I received was extremely professional, supportive, and thorough.

During a very difficult time in my life, I truly felt listened to and supported. Craig went above and beyond to check all my options and ensure that I received the best possible service. His approach, care, and dedication made a huge difference, and I am incredibly grateful for his support.

I would also like to thank Clara and Tracy, who were always very helpful and replied to my emails incredibly quickly. Their efficiency and kindness did not go unnoticed.

The entire team handled everything I needed with great professionalism and care. I am so thankful for the support I received and would happily recommend Blackadders to anyone.

Worst agency ever. Made my sister & family homeless for 6 weeks due to sloppy work & research on property bought through them.
They got notice that they couldn't move into their new home the day before they should move, so the movers that came the next day had to move all their belongings to storage.
Blackadders admitted no responsibility and threatened my sister with lawsuit during the process, an no compensation was given afterwards, avoid at all costs.
This was in 2016, hopefully they have gotten their act together, but this should nevertheless be mentioned.

Blackadders Edinburgh supported us with selling our previous property and buying a new property and we received excellent service with great communication and professionalism from Sylvia McCullagh (Director), Sara Morris and Emma Hodge.

Blackadders represented my elderly mother. They sent one letter in four years to the opposing parties. Repeated upon repeated attempts to get Blackadders to send a second letter all failed. Blackadders passed the case around 6 solicitors in their firm, including John Kerrigan, yet none of them managed to simply send a second letter. Dozens of emails were sent trying to get Blackadders to progress the case. Email after email after email went unanswered. Blackadders had the audacity to cite a secretary leaving as the cause of delay, as if a secretary leaving brings the whole house down.

The service provided by Blackadders was utterly unacceptable and has caused my family substantial worry and distress. It has had a particularly detrimental effect on my elderly mother’s health and overall wellbeing. A complaint has been lodged with the Scottish Legal Complaints Commission, deemed necessary after Ryan McKay, Client Relations Partner, sent a truly woeful response to a formal complaint, in which he denied Blackadders had caused a quantifiable loss. This was despite the fact that my mother had to spend thousands on bills that were incurred, bills which would not have been incurred had Blackadders sent a second letter and agreement reached with the opposing parties. After dismissing Blackadders, agreement was reached with the opposing parties within a matter of weeks.

I certainly would not recommend this firm if you want anything approaching a reasonable service. I really do not know how this firm are still in business, but in my opinion, they don't deserve to be, and I fear for anyone that instructs them.

BEST IN THE BUSINESS FOR A REASON.

I recently used BLACKADDERS LEGAL TEAM for my SEPARATION alongside selling my family home.

I can truly say this team never let me down, from the very first phone call I felt they had my back completely with having to share very personal details with my solicitor Craig Samson, a true professional with decades of experience he guided me through the journey explaining any hurdles we encountered
and putting my mind at ease every step of the way as it can feel very overwhelming at times.

They also dealt with the sale of my house and again the service from the marketing team was impeccable and a shout out must go to Irene as she never missed a beat with Appointments,
follow up calls and just genuinely a well organised nice person to deal with.

I don’t normally do reviews but had to give credit to Blackadders for the exemplary service I received during this tough and emotional time.

Well done again Blackadders of Dundee and I would recommend them to anyone who ends up in this unfortunate situation, they simply are the best in the business.

If this company were to be investigated by those who are supposed to do their jobs, serious fraud would be uncovered. They use their legal knowledge to commit fraud and money laundering.

I can highly recommend using this company. We recently purchased a house using the solicitor Graham Blyth and the service was second to none. Great communication from the start right up until the day we received our keys . I will be using this company again in the future and I will highly recommend them to friends and family.

1 star is a credit to this firm of jokers.

My late father passed away 3 years ago and I fully expect him to be reincarnated and be able to order a pint legally before they return a phone call or email let alone settle the estate.

If you want your personal documents such as bank statements and passports to be sent to the wrong address use blackadders.

If you want to be quoted make believe legislation from a Christmas cracker use blackadders.

If you want your solicitors to be forever out of office then use blackadders.

If you want your family home sold without your permission then use blackadders.

If you want your fathers ashes to be stolen from a funeral directors then use blackadders.

If you want your belongings stolen from a house with their knowledge then use blackadders.

If you want your call bounced between 3 locations then use blackadders.

If you want to be ignored on your complaints use blackadders

If you want to be overcharged then use blackadders.

If you want a prompt, professional, smooth service after the death of a loved one then DO NOT use Blackadders.

Terrible company full of real dodgy characters. My disabled sister died while they were handling her assets. While it wasn't perhaps their fault directly, they did leave her in a neglected state. Another disabled woman called Norma Jane Whamond has also complained about them on Google (what a coincidence ha?). I am pushing for an inquiry into their business.

Terrible customer service. A total lack of communication; had to chase them up on several occasions.Tried to get a reduction in their invoice due to bad service but unsurprisingly one of the partners decided I had no grounds for complaint.
Avoid at all costs.

Poor service. They don’t return messages left with reception, emails. I re-sent email as no response after 6 days and then texted as I had a solicitors mobile no. I was told my email had gone into their junk folder. They wouldn’t give me a quote but gave a ball park figure plus VAT and “extras”. They never told me I could close bank accounts of my deceased mother myself but if they did it could take 6 months. I contacted bank myself and accounts were closed within 2 weeks.
I would not recommend them at all. They are estate agents expanding into law. I B only had to use them cos my late parents firm had been bought over by them.

Requested feedback concerning a house we bought, they were the clients selling agents. We had to chase them up and in all honesty, didn't really seem to concerned.
This is the Aberdeen branch by the way.

They just seem to be there but not doing much of anything.
Still waiting on feedback on a few questions, one of which, previous owners have an outstanding electric bill to pay, hasn't been clarified it has been taken care of?!

One star goes to the Aberdeen office, re property sale. Absolutely unprofessional, they don’t return calls or emails in timely manner, one of the agents particularly was rude and lacking any professionalism/courtesy. Very difficult to do business with them.

Emma Sadler at Blackadders is trying to charge us for an agreement that we couldn’t go through with. She’s looking to charge us for a 15 minute appointment when she was already in Edinburgh that day.

Use anyone else but these.

I recommend Graham Keith for residential conveyancing extremely highly. My house sale and purchase became complicated, and at all times I was reassured that Graham had all issues covered and he ensured everything ran smoothly, despite the complications thrown at us! That was a huge relief at an incredibly stressful time, and quite frankly, I doubt many other solicitors would have managed such a positive result for me. I would very much recommend him, and the wider Blackadders team, for house sales and purchases.
