Pleasure to Deal With.
I contacted Bill Smith's Honda to enquire about possibly purchasing a new motorcycle from them. I live over 3 hours away so the contact was via phone. I used their What's App to send images of my bike for possible part exchange. Kieran very quickly priced up a deal and called me back. The deal was very good, a very fair price for my bike compared to what had been offered by a more local Honda dealer to where I am based. A very good price for the new bike as well compared to other dealers. Bike delivered by Tom, the courier ,in perfect condition. I have never purchased a new bike in this manner but would have no hesitation in going to them again, or recommending them to friends. All in all an easy transaction and thanks to Kieran and Smiths for supplying me with a lovely brand new Honda.
Great customer service
Bought my BSA Gold Star last year. Servicing and health check carried out by them. The battery died recently but Phil on the Service Desk arranged a new one under warranty within a few days. Things go wrong but it is how they are dealt with and I have been very happy with them in this regard.
Went to Smiths
Went to Smiths. With a recall on my Triumph. The service manager spoke to me like i was a bit stupid. Told me that there was no recall which i knew was a lie but he didn't want to know. They sold me the bike a year ago so they're not bothered. They've had their £8000
HONDA GB350 wonderful bike
We just picked up a new bike from Bill Smith motorcycles Chester. Ordered the new Honda GB350 with Paul Ledsham, General Manager of Smiths Honda. He is a joy to deal with. We have bought lots of bikes from Bill Smiths over the years, all new. Every time we deal with Paul we just know things will run smoothly. Never had a problem. Paul is very knowledgeable and professional and we will definitely buy from him again. We would 100% recommend Smiths Honda.

All I can say is BRILLIANT!!!! Nothing is too much trouble for Ash, bought a cb1000r black edition which I wanted converting [the horrible rear wheel hugger thing] and he sorted everything out even delivery. Can’t recommend enough unbelievable customer service x
I needed some work on my Triumph…
I needed some work on my Triumph motorcycle, and the staff were brilliant. They accommodated me really quickly. Wayne, Paul and the mechanic Steve were especially friendly and helpful.
I would definitely recommend Bill Smiths as a motorcycle dealer, and nothing is too much trouble.
Worse company I have ever dealt with…
Worse company I have ever dealt with ever. Customer service is shocking and the way I was spoken to was unacceptable to say the least! Definitely stay away! Buy elsewhere.
Appalling attitude and poor customer service !
Appalling attitude from the business manager after sales complete .. we had a few issues so sent an email only for my husband to be spoken to in a very disrespectful manner, telling us that what we stated about the delivery was incorrect - we have cctv footage ! We were given a time of delivery and because it was late the manager basically said it’s not the end of the world !! No it may not have been however we had made plans around the delivery.
The manager was very extremely rude and arrogant ! Quick to take your money but cannot respond to phone calls or give any form of customer care or service!!!

Purchased my 2006 fireblade from these guys. Absolutely fantastic service and even proved themselves with the aftercare service.
Definitely be using this company in the future, highly recommended.
This is my second visit to Bill Smiths…
This is my second visit to Bill Smiths at Chester for first service on my Motorcycles.
Polite and friendly staff. Did a great job with no marks or scuffs on my bike.
It was worth the 50 mile trip because their prices are realistic.
The service took less time than expected for them so charged me less than quote.
Call me old fashioned but to me that's honesty and integrity which is rare these days.
So it's a 5 stars from me second time around. Highly recommended to all.
Went for several things
Went for several things. Hoped to buy helmet but didn’t have my choice so no big deal. Main reason was three of us riding on a trip were having trouble with sena intercom. Gaynor was a great help even helping with parts. ALL STAFF POLITE AND FRIENDLY. Great customer service above and beyond expectations. Shame i don’t live closer for ongoing service.
Unsafe Service - Won't take responsibility!
Ripped off, damaged bike, and left the garage unsafe!
I strongly recommend you avoid using Bill Smiths for serving your vehicle.
I brought my mint condition MT-07 in for it's second service, and left with scratches on the front and rear rims. There is also a 1 inch deep scratched in my centre tank plastic.
They refuse to acknowledge that the issues were caused in their workshop - despite no one else working on the wheels.
It took over a week for them to reply to me, and I had to chase them down by going to the shop, emailing, and phoning multiple times.
On top of this, the person who worked on my bike left brake grease on my tyres! This is incredibly dangerous.
Lee also suggested I had my tyres changed somewhere because they looked too new, I had to point out the 1mm tread difference between the front and rear tread pattern. Surely this is obvious?
I paid £180 for an oil and brake pad change (which didn't need doing), and left with damages to both rims, centre tank plastic, and grease over crucial safety components.
Called whilst passing to see what was…
Called whilst passing to see what was available and saw my dream bike. Discussed a possible part-ex and struck a deal. All through the process I was kept fully up to date by David Davies who phoned me regularly. I found every member of staff very friendly and approachable; excellent service, thank you very much.
Great service from Andy Rostron!
Very happy with my new bike.
I bought it off Andy Rostron at Bill Smith Chester.
Andy was very helpful and very knowledgeable throughout the purchase process. Nothing was too much trouble and put my mind at ease with great communication and service from start to end.
Thanks Andy, I hope to do more business with you again soon! 👍
I don't as a rule write long negative…
I don't as a rule write long negative reviews but, on this occasion, my experience of poor servicing and customer service is listed below. I have not bothered complaining to Bill Smiths' directly because it seems pointless after reading a number of reviewers experiences on Trustpilot.
I have a 2018 MT09 purchased new from a dealer in the Midlands; I tried Bill Smiths first, but they could not find or supply one at the time. As I live on Anglesey, Chester is the closest approved Yamaha service location to me, and I feel it's important to use an approved dealer to service my bike.
1. 600-mile service: Simple oil change and checks but the mechanic managed to break the union bolt between the sump and the oil filter. I was told that the union bolt must have been damaged at the factory, and they would replace it under warranty. No parts in stock, took 3 days to sort it out and in the meantime, I was expected to catch a train back to Anglesey and make a return journey to Bill Smiths to collect the bike 3 days or so later. I had asked for a courtesy bike but was refused and no compensation for inconvenience was offered or given. As I had to pay for train fares through no fault of my own, I refused to pay the servicing bill; this was accepted only because Yamaha had agreed to pay the bill.
2. 6k service: Asked them to check the throttle free play and the throttle body synchronisation as I felt they needed adjustment. Result: service done but my requests had been ignored. I was told that the throttle body sync check was at 12k and they had forgotten to adjust the throttle free play; according to Yamaha's service schedule the synchronisation check should be done at 6k and 12k!
3. 12k service done at 10k miles and the bike was 4 years old. Once again, I had asked them to ensure the throttle body sync was done as I was now feeling unacceptable vibrations at the handlebars, I also asked to ensure the brake fluid and pads were changed as the fluid was dark and pads were too worn for my personal preference. I also asked if they could diagnose the fault preventing the quick shifter from operating. I was told the service and additional jobs would take 4.5 hours and given a price for the extra time it would take; I agreed to this.
Result: I waited outside the shop talking to other customers and drinking coffee. I was telephoned by the desk clerk to say my bike was ready 1.5 hrs early. When I asked if they had done all the work in a shorter time, I was told that they had not because they were short-handed and overbooked so could not fit it in. So, the throttle body sync, brake fluid and master cylinder component check, brake pads or the coolant change was not done! Goodness knows what else was left off the schedule. Incidentally, I could see inside the workshop from where I was standing and after about an hour my bike disappeared somewhere, and I didn't see it again until after paying the bill!
It is also interesting to note that I was told that the quick shifter was probably faulty and unrepairable, but they had not had the time to do a proper diagnosis. Furthermore, they would replace it if I booked it in at a later date and the estimated cost would be approximately £240 for a new OEM quick shifter and about the same for labour plus VAT. After a bit of online research, I fixed it myself by replacing the only electrical component inside (a micro switch) for around £15 including p&p. It took around 15 minutes to replace the microswitch.
I travelled 70 miles each way to this dealer because I thought Bill Smiths were an honourably run family business that put their customers first; not anymore it seems! I am very disappointed with the way they have treated me and my bike.
A note to Bill Smiths: Genuinely no malice intended here, it is what it is, and this is an honest review of my own experiences over the past 3 - 4 years. It shouldn't take long to find my details on your database, please feel free to contact me if you need any more information or clarification. People reading this are free to decide for themselves if they choose to use your services or not, I'm afraid I definitely won't.
Terrible Customer Service
On a Monday rang them obout a bike advertised on their website and was told it could be ready for Wednesday so I put a 10% deposit down. Wednesday...not ready, Thursday, not ready, Friday not ready but parts ordered. By the following Monday I'd had enough and emailed them twice via their website cancelling my order and requesting a refund. Rang them on the Tuesday as no response to my emails and was told they had the parts and the bike would be ready the following Monday. I told them about my emails cancelling my order and the guy agreed to refund my deposit and would email me directly for my bank details. No email received so I called the following day and was informed he had "got caught up with a customer". I did finally receive an email and then a refund. On visiting the online MOT checker, the bike still isnt MOT'd. I've never received such shoddy customer service in 40 0dd years.
uninterested and a bit rude
Once again, i write another poor review and no I'm not on a crusade, i always like to support local where i can.
Went to see 2 bikes, was dealt with initially by a nice guy who was in between hand over with a customer, he made the bikes available for me to access in the showroom , said he'd be back as soon as he could, perfect! whilst looking around the bike another salesman asked if we ok, then started to say if i wanted the bike I'd have to be quick because someone else is coming to see it,in a 'not' pushy way, his words not mine, then i explained that i was looking to buy in autumn ready for next season as i had a couple of bikes to sell, but wanted to make sure the Vstrom is definitely the bike i want, which it is Hence the visit.
He basically then just changed his tone, uninterested in what i had to say and started walking away
Even my daughter said 'well that was rude dad' without prompt.
we went to find the guy we initially dealt with, for a chat about my plans etc but he'd gone to the workshop I guess,as his customer was still on the car park, we turned around to go back in the shop and the other salesman was wheeling the bike back into its showroom spot.
We walked out.
So basically what I'm saying is, because i didn't actually want to buy on that day, there was no interest what so ever, even for my future plans from that particular salesman at least.
However this all reflects on the shop and service as a whole.
I'll be going elsewhere to buy a Vstrom
Shame.
Tiger 660 Sports…A great bike sold by a great company
Recently brought a new Tiger 660 Sports from Bill Smith. I dealt with by David Davis who gave me a good trade in price for my bike. I was treated in a very professional and courteous manner. I ask for a number of extras to be fitted which they did. I was kept informed of when my bike was due in. On the day I went to pick up my bike the whole process was made very simple.
Today (29/06/2022 Wednesday) I took the bike for its first service. I think it was Ben (Service Manager) who I was served by, he said it should take about 1hr and a half to service my bike. As good as his promise the bike was ready on time. He explained what was carried out on the service, he was extremely helpful and friendly. While I was there another gentleman called Phil helped me set up my Bluetooth settings on my bike, which was very kind of him.
I would like to thank all of the staff at Bill Smiths for making the purchase of my new bike and my first service such a nice experience.
Zero customer service
Zero customer service. Do they not want to sell bikes? The attitude of the sarcastic sales individual (which I believe was the entitled one) couldn't be more cold than a frozen chicken. Well they've just lost my many years of business of new bikes and services and now a Triumph dealer in Blackburn has just taken a new order for my new Tiger GT fully loaded. Service was exceptional and very friendly.
Shocking Customer Service
Where do I start? My husband recently bought a brand new 2022 Fireblade from Smiths Honda - cracking service there by Sarah. Shame the same couldn’t be said for Bill Smiths. I rang on Monday evening and asked to speak to Kieran (sales and finance man), the lady who answered said he was on the phone and took my number to call me back. I want to purchase a used bike for bike rally’s rather than the brand new bike be used. No call back Monday I rang Tuesday, the chap who answered the phone said Kieran was tied up with motorbike handovers and could he help, I explained I wanted to purchase a bike I had seen on Sunday in the store. He said he would email Kieran with my details….still no call back - it’s now Tuesday night!! I guess they don’t want my business? Oh well the £9k cash I have for a bike will be used on another bike I am interested in from CMC Bikes in Cannock. I recently purchased a motorbike from there for my son - absolutely fantastic customer service and a follow up call too making sure everything was in order. Oh well Bill Smiths you’ve not only lost a sale but also my custom along with my husbands and sons custom.
