A very good day. Helpful, friendly staff and a pilot, Sam, who was enthusiastic and a joy to fly with. The weather was superb, originally I was due to fly in October but had to reschedule, which was a help. Easy to book and easy on the day too. As I got out of the Tiger Moth, there were photo opportunities directly afterwards, a Spitfire took off nearby. Wonderful!
The only downside was not being able to shout, chocks away!

Please ignore the childish poor reviews. I have been going to Compton Abbas far many years. The whole experience and staff has always been first class. It is not a scam. This organisation is involved in the restoration of many war birds and are professionals. My wife just flew in the Tiger moth. The whole experience from start to finish was excellent. All the staff were attentive very knowledgable and a lot of fun. Im booked in for the Spitfire flight on the 6/6/26. And I know the entire day will be amazing. And with to the small minded individuals complaining about the communication. Every email and and all the calls I have made. Have been replied to in an excellent timely manner. And all my questions answered. Aero legends is not a scam. Some people make me laugh. My advise. Don’t hesitate,book yourself a flight.

Just returned home from a Tiger Moth flight at Compton Abbas. It was a very exhilarating and enjoyable experience, my pilot Sam was obviously a very experienced pilot who love flying. Thankyou Aero Legends and my family for arranging this amazibg experience

Booked a 30 minute flight in a tiger moth for my partners 60th birthday, he absolutely loved it! The staff were very helpful and joined in with the excitement of the day, making for an unforgettable experience. He was able to take control of the plane for the majority of the flight, his grin when he got back was amazing to see, I spoke to Sam the pilot, who said he was able to sit back and enjoy the view whilst my partner had control. Afterwards they invited us to take photos next to the plane and to also sit in it. Absolutely fantastic and amazing experience.

Me & a friend booked a Spitfire flight at the airshow on 28th June 25, we tried to pay on the day but couldn't pay and complete the booking because they had trouble getting an Internet connection to do the payment, they said they'd email the details Sunday or Monday, so we could pay online. We booked them for us to fly together, 2 planes, we also wanted to fly over the White Cliffs of Dover, so we had to pay for a longer flight, 25 minutes flying time instead of the standard 20 minute flight time, to reach Dover, which we accepted, this was on our booking. We were told we could have a video of the flight for £150 per plane, but could decide and pay on the day of the flight. We received the email on the Monday to pay, still couldn't get through to pay on line. I spoke to my friend regarding trying to pay online, he said he had the same trouble, so he called them, and paid over the phone, I did the same.
We arrived at 08:45 for a 9am briefing, & told them we both wanted the video, someone you only do once. We were informed they thought the only had 3 cameras or charged batteries, but would let us know, the briefing was 30-40 minutes. Our flight was booked for 12pm.
We were told they only had 2 cameras, so we could only have one each. We had to pay for the cameras, which was fair enough, but we also had to pay about another £300 each, because we were flying together or because of the 5 minute longer flight, this is what we had booked for on the day of the airshow.
We had the flight, which was fantastic, we didn't fly over Dover as the clouds had come in at Dover, so we flew over Eastbourne, I accepted this as they are not in contol of the weather.
We finished the flight, had a few photos taken by the planes and went to the office to get changed out of the suits they provided. We were told they would sort the videos and email us a link to download.
My friend called them after 8 days to ask about the video, he was told to email them regarding this, which he did.
2 weeks after the flight we got an email to say we could download the videos, the email stated the cameras had been set wrong, 1 frame every second, then missed the next 29, they had tried to edit it through a computer, I think, but the video is terrible, I have a jerky video, because it was filmed in maybe time-lapse, through the computer editing, it is now a silent movie, so you can't even hear the sound of the iconic Merlin engine. The jerky video I do have facing forwards, half of it is of my helmet, very little of the area ahead.
I have made a complaint to Aero Legends regarding this and what they propose to do, there reply was to reimburse me of the video money. As I said to them, it's something you only do once, the video would be the memory of the flight, i literally have nothing. The complete flight from stepping into the plane to getting out is about 35 minutes, our videos are 21 & 23 minutes, we're did the other 10 minutes go?
If anyone else does the flight, i hope you have a better experience than we did.

Aero Legends is part operating business and part fraudulent, scamming operation. DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR MONEY. Customers frequently don't get their flights. They also pressure and upsell you while not telling you the "vouchers" for flights expire. There is no customer service - emails and calls go unanswered. ITS A SCAM. You will not get your money back and that is part of their business plan. Use another provider.

Had a brilliant flight in Tiger Moth Headcorn Friday 11th July. All staff very friendly, and a special thanks to my pilot Phil who was very personable and allowed me to take control for 10 minutes. Would highly recommend and hope to fly again with them. John Thulborn

Flew in a Spitfire from Headcorn, what a fantastic experience !!! Great Setup, with an old wooden dispersal hut right next to the airstrip, Very welcoming, and nothing to much trouble. Received a very informative briefing. All staff very friendly, Especially "Parky" my Experienced pilot, (Top Bloke !) suggested waiting for clouds to lift for a better flight , and planned my route to fly over my house and other personal landmarks. Even guided me on how to take controls !. Just be warned the Victory Rolls can be a bit nauseous !!!!

I have just had a fantastic experience at Compton Abbas airfield in Dorset, having a 45 minute flight in a 90 year old Tiger Moth, through Aero Legends.

Initially my booking was for 2 days previously but the wind was too strong & in the wrong direction, so after waiting at the airfield for a couple of hours the day was eventually cancelled. However, we were very well looked after throughout by all of the volunteer ground crew & pilot, who should all be praised, keeping us informed & entertained while we waited. They could not be faulted.

Aero Legends managed to squeeze another flight attempt in 2 days later, which was successful. The ground crew & pilot were again very informative throughout, & the pilot was very accommodating with the route he took.
It was a great open cockpit experience & I felt safe through the whole flight. I can highly recommend Aero Legends if you are looking for a special experience. They have a variety of aircraft available & at different airfields around the country. There is also a very nice restaurant & bar at the Compton Abbas airfield.

All my life I wanted to fly in a spitfire. Later in life I needed some film footage for a project and so, after contacting a few other organisations who were not much interested, I found Ben at Aero Legends. The whole experience was thereafter smooth and perfect. Nothing was too much trouble and the whole team - office, ground crew and aircrew - were highly professional. I simply cannot thank them enough; the flight itself was a masterclass in professionalism and ability, and the privilege of flying in formation over the West Country on the 80th anniversary of VE Day will never ever be forgotten. Sell something, buy a cheaper car or take one less holiday; you will never regret flying with the team and experiencing the most beautiful machine ever made actually alive in its proper element. The experience is lifechanging and transcendental; thank you for making an impossible dream a reality. Massively impressive 'can do 'people and very highly recommended.

I like the previous person booked a flight for my husbands 60th, I originally tried to book for early in the year but there was no dates avaliable so had to go for the Sept 21st,which was then cancelled the only date available for the following year is July 25 we are unable to do this date and emailed and phoned to say wasn't there another date that we could book for the year ahead, we were told that that's terms and conditions and we could go on a tiger moth instead which we do not want to do. I have asked for a refund as I think two to three years to find a date is unreasonable and it should be clearer at the time of booking that it could take up to five years to book, we do not want to travel around the country to find an alternative flight that could be potentially cancelled. Very poor experience very disappointed as something that was meant to be a fantastic gift has turned into a stressful and sad experience, it was meant to be a special and memorable gift that we have all chipped in as a family to afford. It seems that this company does not care and it is now memorable for a the wrong reasons

I purchased a Fly with a Spitfire experience for my husbands 60th birthday and book this for a date in September. The day before he received an e-mail to say it was cancelled due to the expected poor weather and an issue with the engine of the helicopter. Well the weather on the day was amazing and surely they should have provided an alternative aircraft. I find it incredible that they can take this amount of money from people and have top cancel due to a technical issue with an aircraft and they have no alternative back up in these situations. This experience was £1000.
They have said that we can rebook but the next available date is not until late July 2025.I was told on the phone that they have 100s of people to accommodate so surely they should add more dates during the year to accommodate the number of people who want to book and to have a contingency for dates they cancel and the paying public have no control over. Also as it was then who cancelled surely they have an obligation to rebook us as a priority. It does allow people who buy an experience after us to potentially book before us.

Given any experience would be minimum 500 pound, their practice really is borderline illegal. I’m surprised there weren’t more reviews to reflect this. After cancellation from their side, there’s not any willingness to help, not possible to refund, rebook unavailable, extremely rude staff on the phone.

Dream realised on Sunday 8th September. Exceeded all expectations. Flying in a vintage Tiger Moth - and taking the controls. Unforgettable day with the family (who were all made very welcome including the dogs) as a belated 80th birthday celebration. On a day when the weather was playing tricks at Headcorn Aerodrome, many thanks to the team at Aero Legends for making it happen, especially to pilot Patrick for his sympathetic flying instruction.

Booked a Tiger Moth flight experience. Original date cancelled with only one option to rebook available Mid week at 10:00. Due to work couldn't make it...no other options, no method of getting a refund, impossible to contact. Book at your peril.

My wife purchased four tickets for the air show at Compton Abbas on 10th August. We struggled to get to the venue as all roads leading to it had been blocked off. Men and women in high viz jackets just waiving the traffic on, when we asked them for directions they just shrugged their shoulders. After an hour of driving around we found a road-block where we could stop and speak with a female assistant, who informed us that we had to drive to a nearby school and park there, coaches would be waiting to bring us back to the venue. We followed the road signs for several miles when the signs suddenly disappeared. We were then totally lost. We eventually found the 'off site' parking venue.
We boarded a waiting coach only be told by the driver the it was not going to the venue as the air show was cancelled due to the weather.
I requested a refund from Aero Legends who replied that they operate a NO REFUND POLICY and there would be no refund. Surely this cannot be legal?

My wife and I attended the Golden Age Of Aviation Airshow at Compton Abbas on Saturday the 10th. While I realise that the weather was completely out of your hands we thoroughly enjoyed the partial display that was eventually executed.

However we were extremely disappointed in the organisation of the event from the facilities and promises that were made when booking the ticket. As far as I am concerned it was completely over promoted and did not live up to anywhere near expectations.

1. I am not sure what was meant by “lavish extras” and a “delectable lunch” but the burgers and hot dogs etc did not seem to be what anyone would call “lavish” or “delectable” We certainly could have purchased a burger for far less than the extra 55 Pounds we spent on each ticket.
2. We had to pay for all our hot and soft drinks as staff knew nothing about complimentary drinks.
3. The toilet facilities were disgusting and no flushing or water was available to wash hands. When some organisers were informed by a crowd of us about it, they managed to find some water in a plastic cup and paper towels!
4. Did not see much in the way of captivating WW2 reenactors other than a few very bored looking US GI’s and a singer that basically had no one listening to him as it was so loud.
5. Don’t think our views were any more “exceptional” than the Silver enclosure alongside.

Poor show Aerolegends and you need to up your game substantially before we attend any more shows organised by your event organizers.

Booked 2 tickets for an aero legends airshow.
On the day, is was an utter shambles; no available parking, in spite of my confirming this before attending, which was necessary for my disabled father.
Worse was to follow as the show was then cancelled, before it even started, though no formal announcement was made on their website or any communication received to this effect until early evening, resulting in many making long, wasted and unnecessary journeys.
They are now refusing to issue any refunds for this event, even though it DID NOT take place, which infringes consumer rights.
PLEASE do not use this company, their approach to customer service is appalling, they appear to just want to take your money!!

We attended the D Day 80th Event at North Weald Airfield which was advertised as :
The event will commence at North Weald airfield, Essex UK where we will have assembled a fleet of Dakotas and other period aircraft. Over the 3-day of the show visitors on each day will be able to have tours of the aircraft, meet the crew, buy memorabilia, and enjoy 1940s style entertainment. As well as the Dakotas we will have assembled a large number of military vehicles that will be setting off in convoy to our next stop on our commemorations, Cherbourg. You will also be able to meet the vehicle owners and explore their vehicles up close.

An added bonus for viewing will be our specially built runway viewing area where you will be able to watch all aircraft movements, parachutists emplaning for their jumps & aircraft returning.
We aim to create an 1940s period feeling with re-enactor camps, re-enactors and much more! We also encourage anyone attending to dress in a period style to help add to the period atmosphere. As well as the show itself we will also have some lovely hospitality provided by the onsite “Rosey Lea” Squadron facility. Plenty of traders to have a wonder around and pick up some awesome memorabilia.
On arrival on 2nd June there was only a couple of planes on the runway and we were told by the Event Team most of the activities would not be happening with no further explanation. No parachutes emplaning, no convoy, no memorabilia, no refreshments, no crew, no 1940s atmosphere. We paid £25 a ticket and could have watched the aeroplanes from the cafe for free. The whole day was a disappointing attempt by Aero Legends to create an event to celebrate D Day 80th anniversary. We have emailed Aero Legends stating booking Ref lk3wsl97 to ask for a full refund and todate no reply or acknowledgement. Totally unsatisfactory and false advertising of the event.

Paid for attendance tickets at the much promoted DDay 80 experience (8 tickets in total amounting to £200).
The event suffered from bad weather and aircraft maintenance issues which were beyond the organisers control. However there was no 1940s entertainment, sparse public facilities and no aircraft on display. All in all a desolate airfield with hundreds of public disappointed in this much hyped show. The one consultation was ground access to US based aircraft.
The site had little organisation or signage and members of the public walking up and down a live flight line.
