A 30 minute flight in a Spitfire from Tatenhill airport was the trip of a lifetime, I recommend it to anyone.
From the moment I arrived until I left everything ran extremely smoothly, the ground staff Nigel and Nick were amazing teaching me all the safety procedures, kitting me out with my flight suit and ensuring I was fastened into the spitfire correctly. Also giving lots of giggles along the way. A big thank you to them.
A massive thank you to Andrew the pilot who took the time to see where I wanted to fly and for giving us a great flight.
The whole experience was just incredible.

Incredible day and chasing the ME 109 was like being in a film, fabulous people fabulous day out and all credit to them for keeping this important piece of history alive.

What an incredible time we had yesterday at Halfpenny Green airport! We were so well looked after. We were treated like family, it was a joy to be a part of it.

The Fly a Spitfire event took place at Halfpenny Green Airport (Wolverhampton) as a Midlands event on 28 June 2026.
Whole experience was first class from initial booking until post flight experience.
Kay welcomed me, briefed me, facilitated aircraft entry/exit, debriefed and ensured every need was met. Pilot for my trip was Charlie Kimbell who was superb in every aspect from meeting my aspirations in route planning and aircraft manoeuvres. Wonderful skills both in flying and just making the whole experience so special.
100% recommended the whole experience and still grinning about it!

I was so well looked after and it was truly a once in a lifetime experience

What an outstanding experience. This is a once in a lifetime chance to fly in the iconic Spitfire. Personally, I would say it was worth the money. If I could afford it I would definitely do it again. There were 2 pilots with the Spitfire. They were both very helpful and couldn't do enough to make the experience as enjoyable as possible. They explained all the safety protocols and everything that would happen during the flight. They also gave me the opportunity to say where I wanted the pilot to fly to.

What an awesome day, all the people were so nice, We are quite knowledgeable about the RAF in World War Two however we learned so much more from Simon. I didn’t really know what to expect flying a Spitfire but thanks to Jez I wasn’t disappointed.
What was a once in a lifetime experience may well become twice in life time experience or more. Our own photos and videos did not turn to well so maybe the option of a professional photographer would be a good idea even if this would mean an extra charge…

Did a 30 minute Weald of Kent flight from Biggin Hill in formation with a friend in the other Spitfire and family in the accompanying chase plane (along with a photographer). What an experience. The team of pilots and ground support were excellent. The whole team were friendly, extremely knowledgeable and happy to explain anything, even on the tour of the hangars. The photos of us in formation taken from the chase plane are excellent, as is the in-cockpit video footage. For us though, the already brilliant day was elevated by looking out of your cockpit to see your mate in another Spitfire flying “on your wing” in formation.
Definitely a once in a lifetime experience that I am lucky enough to have ticked off the bucket list.

Flying a Spitfire at Blackbushe Airport May 2026 was a day to remember for all the right reasons. Our family had an amazing day. The trip was a birthday present and one I will remember for a long time. The ground crew were so friendly and welcoming from the minute we turned up until the minute we left. Nothing was too much trouble.
The Pilot was very experienced, professional, kind and friendly. The trip itself was fantastic and I got to fly the plane for a good amount of time. When we landed, my family was allowed to join me and we had loads of photos taken to record the day. I then had a debrief and was given some memorabilia to keep as well as a video of the flight.
I can’t recommend the company “Fly a Spitfire” enough they are BRILLIANT!!!

Very friendly staff team welcomed our party. The Spitfire flight was an 80th birthday present from my wife, Pam.

Everybody went out of their way to welcome us, and were very patient with me as I struggled to remember the emergency procedures!
The flight itself was everything I'd hoped for - fast with many twists, turns and loop-the-loops. I was even allowed to take the controls for a while! The flight was rounded off when Pam flew alongside me for a few minutes. A truly unforgettable experience. My only very petty grumble was that it was a very hot day in May and I sweltered in the cockpit - small price to pay! My thanks to everybody who made my birthday event so great!

Absolutely incredible experience flying in and taking he controls of a spitfire in the Midlands.
The team were fantastic, both pilots Adam and Cookie were great craic and always felt safe and like the safety & enjoyment of every individual was paramount.

Kaye and Adam on the ground were also absolute gems, with Kaye even making aircraft shaped biscuits and both looking after my girlfriend while I was up in the plane.

Would do it again in a heartbeat

Had a brilliant exciting day at Tatenhill Airport. Lovely knowledgeable staff.my booked flight in a Spitfire 11.30am 17/5/26.My experience uplifted by my pilot (Adam Lacy) who treated me with respect,trusted me with control,and showed me his skill.We did a roll flew upside down.I will never forget this experience. My farther Ron Wood worked Rolls Royce spent 3 years in India.Training Indian airforce, to work on Merlin engines.

Having done the technical tour last year I decide to do a flight for my 60th.
It is an amazing experience and the crew at Biggin Hill are excellent. Highly professional of course, but also great at making the day wonderful for all the folks I was able to take along. Definitely book the chase plane of you are lucky enough to do this as it is lovely to share it with family and friends

I would give 10 stars if I could.
I have always loved Spitfires since I was a child but never thought I would fly in one and take the controls and do victory rolls.
But that is exactly what I did on Saturday. When I flew down to the White Cliffs from Biggin Hill.
From arrival to departure the Fly A Spitfire team make the whole day an unforgettable one, whether you’re flying in the Spitfire, the Chaser plane or watching from the ground its awesome.
Any nerves about flying are put at ease by the briefings your given whether by Spitfire or Chaser plane pilots.
The tour included in the package round the Spitfire Factory and Heritage Hanger is carried out by very knowledgeable guide.
There is so much to take photos & videos of the whole day.
My family of 14 then had a delicious lunch at the RAF Museum café, which we had prebooked.
Thank you to everyone at Fly A Spitfire for providing us with such a wonderful day out and for leaving us with some everlasting memories.

Everything, from the moment I booked a flight to when I left after an awesome flight over the English countryside, was perfect. The staff at Fly a Spitfire are dedicated to making this experience an experience not to forget: friendly, helpful, enthusiastic, genuinely concerned with making this exceptional, worthwhile and memorable. And, memorable it is, for all the right reasons: from the greeting, escort to the operations room, kitting up to fly, the briefing with the pilot, strapping into the Spitfire, taxi, takeoff and that awesome flight to the coast and back to sadly land too soon. And the tour of the workshops! These people are so dedicated to the maintenance and restoration of such a wonderful part of our history. My Dad flew this Spitfire Mark (IX) during WW2 - it was an emotional flight for me, but it would be a great taste of what those aviators dealt with for anyone who wants to know. I recommend this experience without reservation: the flight, the Fly a Spitfire staff, everything.

I had a great flight with my pilot Jon on 2nd May from Cranfield, over flying Silverstone, Bletchley Park to name a few. The combination of 2 victory rolls and two wing overs was awesome. The whole experence from start to finish you are treated as a VIP(Very Important Pilot) Many thanks to all the team for a great experience.

The company is serious, professional, safety-focused and incredibly competent, but also friendly, supportive and welcoming. The pilots, ground crew and support staff were all excellent, looking after me throughout and delivering exceptional customer service. Together, they created a breathtaking experience from the moment I arrived until the moment I left.

My pilot exuded confidence and expertise, while also trusting me to fly for a fair part of the flight. The whole experience was unforgettable, especially flying over my local area and taking off from Cranfield, my local airport. Two victory rolls were the absolute pinnacle of the experience, delivering thrills that no rollercoaster could ever come close to.

The vibrations from the Merlin engine could be felt in my chest, and the roar of it in my ears made the whole thing wonderfully visceral. I will absolutely be doing this again, and I will absolutely be flying with FlyASpitfire.com again.

I have just had a Flight in a Supermarine Spitfire MJ627 from Cotswold Airport over Gloucestershire and down the Severn estuary. A memorable day. The pilot, Jon, and all the staff & volunteers at FlyaSpitfire.com were hugely professional and friendly. A wonderful experience with friends and FaS staff. Thank you all.

Simply stunning Spitfire and chase plane experience and great hospitality. Extravagant? Yes. Worth it? Absolutely.
From the moment we arrived, the entire team at Fly a Spitfire were welcoming and determined to make it a day to remember. They totally succeeded. The highlight - the flight of course. I had one of the longer flights to Beachy Head which gave time to soak up the atmosphere, enjoy an element of taking the controls and see the southern coast. The chase plane was expensive but allowed the other 4 members of my party to participate and take great pictures so well worth it.
On landing there was no pressure to move on, so easy to take it all in, and have photos in and around the plane.
Finally the guided tour of the restoration hangers was unrushed, intimate, interesting and informed.
