We have had a good experience booking our holiday with Abercrombie & Kent. Very helpful and knowledgeable consultant who listened with care to our requirements and wishes and created an impressive itinerary. Amendments to the itinerary were all handled well. Prompt response to telephone messages and emails. Helpful advise throughout

I haven't even begun my trip yet, but I fear that the poor customer service I've already experienced will follow me on my two-week journey.
Seven days to departure and no travel documents. Promises and more promises to email the documents and yet no emails; Yesterday I had to yell at the A&K agent and the documents were emailed immediately. Really?
I have no info about who is picking me up at my destination, where, when, etc., even though I've asked countless times. "We will email it to you on your day of travel." What?
The travel insurance documents were emailed to me with mistakes that could affect my coverage when my trip begins. And there's more . . .
Countless calls with promises to return those calls never happened.

Just back from our best-ever holiday to Mauritius and can highly recommend our wonderful travel agent, James Egan of Abercrombie & Kent. Right from the start he's been incredibly helpful and it made a huge difference to our holiday. James is slightly unique in that he specialises in beach holidays, rather than one region. This gives him a great overview and helped us narrow down our choice to Mauritius, and then our hotel. He'd stayed there and had good contacts with the local team, which I am sure helped make our holiday v special. We stayed at the Shangri-La Le Touessrok, which is the fanciest hotel we've ever stayed in. All in all, a great experience.

Having organised a number of luxury holidays for us in the Caribbean over the last few years, James was well equipped to provide us with a recommendation for somewhere new this time round and his suggestion did not disappoint. The process of sourcing flights and accommodation was streamlined, and everything ran smoothly for the duration of the holiday. The resort itself (Cap Maison) had excellent levels of service (as promised) and the boutique luxury feel was evident throughout.

We have been on quite a few Safari adventures over the years and I found Chris at AK to really understand the brief, he gave a variety of price options and very helpful advice, but also importantly the whole team in the UK and Kenya made all the traveling run perfectly. Our experience was also that nothing was too much trouble. Will definitely use Chris and the team again for sure. Grateful for such an amazing trip!

Abercrombie & Kent truly exceeded my expectations. The Tanzania safari they organized was exceptionally well planned and seamless from start to finish. Visiting Tarangire, Ngorongoro Crater, and the Serengeti was unforgettable, made even better by over-the-top knowledgeable guides who elevated every game drive. The Sanctuary accommodations were outstanding, and every detail was handled with care. The experience was so impactful that it turned us into true wildlife enthusiasts. One of the most organized, stress-free, and memorable trips we’ve ever taken.

Our trip was well organised. We were met at each airport and escorted to our departure point at each location. This made the journeys very stress free. Each hotel was excellent and all our tours were amazing. The company looked after us all the way.

We are regular visitors to Kenya for safari holidays and A&K always put together our tailor-made package with speed and efficiency. Over the years we feel that we have built up a relationship with both Chris in Cheltenham and Fiona in the Nairobi offices. Nothing is too much trouble for them. They're wonderful!

My partner and I had a great experience with A&K - it was the 10-day ultimate Egypt tour. We were initially worried about 3 things: security in Egypt, being women in Egypt, and the cost of the tour. We needn't have worried on any account. We felt like we were in really safe hands with A&K, and there was plenty of visible security everywhere (seems that Egypt has 7 different types of police forces!) including at the hotels that were part of the tour. The cost of the tour seems steep for the ordinary person but almost everything was included (including internal flights), and we didn't have to lift a finger to do anything except eat well, enjoy the Egyptian experience, and listen attentively to great tour guides and directors on the ground whilst seeing some of the most impressive sites that I've ever seen in my travels. (Although gratuities are included in the price, keep money aside for gratuities at the end for the main tour director/s as these are not included - they definitely deserve your appreciation. Oh, and keep small denominations for the usual use of washroom tips throughout much of Egypt). From being met at the airport on arrival in Cairo to being farewelled at the airport on departure, and everything in between, the local A&K people were fabulous - safe and on-time transport, exceptional professional service, highly knowledgeable about what we were there to see and experience, caring (and reassuring that what we were purchasing was authentic and of high quality), with meticulous planning and highly thoughtful of our needs. If you're in Egypt for a rest, don't go A&K unless you're prepared to take some time off before or after the tour, which is what we did but even then A&K were really helpful in suggesting things for us to do and see. We were on the go throughout the tour, with well thought-out and seamless planning throughout. The quality of the accommodations was excellent. And I can't speak more highly of the expertise of the local guides.
On our days in Cairo outside of the tour, Uber was a definite must; and tipping in Egypt is a bit like the USA - it supplements very low wages everywhere. Be polite to those who try to sell you something - you will get hassled but not in the way I expected (being a woman). Those locals are simply trying to get by. The A&K people taught us how to say "No, thank you" in Arabic which worked very nicely and the whole experience was done in mostly very good humour.
If Egypt has been on your bucket list, we would highly recommend A&K.

Peru and Machu Picchu: Outstanding service and attention from start to finish. We were expecting high end service, but this exceeded our expectations at all points. The itinerary and accommodations were top tier, but the team leader (Franklin) and guides (Jose and Jimal) were phenomenal, and the entire group was thrilled with this trip. Would highly recommend A&K and plan to travel with them again.

Good trip to see India. Pollution was terrible and the cities were dirty but the sights seen were amazing. Did not like the country in general but liked the sights such as Taj Mahal. Also stayed in amazing hotels- many were former palaces. Tour guides were great also.

This trip was simply - amazing! It was curated to perfection but still giving the tour director/guides room to wriggle if circumstances needed a quick change. From the first day of the tour, a ten day tour, the tour director Inas Hassan was extraordinary in terms of her encyclopedic knowledge of all things, Egyptian. No question went unanswered even if it was outside of the speciality - ancient Egypt. Inas was a font of knowledge and rarely, if ever, was unable to give us an answer. Be it modern or ancient. A delightful woman with a rare ability to see past any traveller's idiosyncrasies in short, she treated all as equal. The tour co-ordinator, Ahmed El Housseiny was an exemplar with management. From the time he picked us up, from our long flight originating in Australia, he was a model organiser. We never picked up a bag, lifted a bag, bought something outside of our knowledge of 'how to do it properly', and when we needed a new suitcase (to bring home all our egyptian goodies) he arranged its purchase and had it hand delivered to our room. Service personified. He was personable, charming and a credit to his country. Inas was his equal in every facet of her role, she fretted/worried about our well-being at every point of the tour. Inas had two sayings - "listen to your body" (referencing not overdoing what the body did not want you to do) and, "watch where your feets (sic) are going" - always concious of her tour group and their safety.

Roberta at the Harrods branch was highly efficient and helpful from the start to the end of my trip . Checking on everything , and going above and beyond to help rectify matters . She’s amazing. The whole team is great, and I recommend them

The efficiency and attention to detail shown by A&K is truly outstanding. From the first contact with the company I was put at ease and knew everything would be taken care of.
The itinerary prepared for me was exactly what I was looking for. The local guides were knowledgeable, knowledgeable efficient and very attentive. Experienced drivers completed the team. The local agents did everything possible to assist in making the trip memorable.
The accommodations chosen by the company were first class, in comfort and style, not to mention the amenities and amiability of the staff.
An unforgettable holiday indeed. Would certainly look to use this company again in future and recommend them to friends and relatives.
