THIS IS A SCAM!!! DO NOT USE!!!!
I had a leaking boiler and Airbnb guests arriving on a Saturday so called an emergency plumber. I knew it wouyld be expensive but thought the £60 call out charge was reasonable. The plumber came promptly and diagnosed the problem, saying it wouldn't take long to fix. By the time I found out via email from WeFix that the hourly rate was £259 - even if it goes one minute into the next hour - he had taken my boiler apart. I felt I had no option but to ask him to finish the job. He fixed the leak, waited at the flat until IU had transferred the mon ey anmd the total was £1400!!!!! yes £1400. I could not believe it and had to move money out of my savings account to pay. It did not take him 3 hours but this is what I was charged for. Plus 20% admin fee. Plus VAT. AND then the heating stopped working and the boiler pressure went right up to 3.5 bars! Before he arrived, despite the leak the heating worked fine. I called them back but they claimed this was a separate issue and they would charge again. After a week of back and forth arguing with them I called in a local plumber who fixed the whole thing for £120 in about half an hour.
I wish I had read the reviews of this company before calling them. It is OUTRAGEOUS that they are allowed to continue. DO NOT USE THEM!!! I REPEAT DO NOT USE THEM!!!!!
If i could leave No Stars I would! Do not touch this company at any cost. £200ph Hourly rate + £95 call out + 0.2% of bill as an administrative fee + vat = Problem not fixed.
SCAMMMMMMM STAY AWAY AT ALL COSTS
I had a very troubling experience with WE Fix 24 Ltd and feel it is important to share it so other consumers are aware.
In my experience, before the engineer began work I made it very clear to both the company and the engineer on the phone that I would only authorise the job subject to a maximum charge of £325. This condition was stated clearly and repeatedly and was the basis on which I allowed the work to proceed.
After the work was completed, I was sent an invoice significantly higher than that amount. The invoice included additional charges that had not been clearly explained beforehand, including extra hourly charges, administration fees and other costs.
When I raised the issue and reiterated that £325 had been the agreed limit, the situation became very uncomfortable. In my experience, the engineer initially refused to leave my premises, which I found extremely distressing. Following this, the company continued contacting me repeatedly demanding payment of the higher amount despite my clear explanation that the work had only been authorised up to £325.
I also received a message stating that if I did not pay the additional amount they would send an engineer back to “undo the work” that had already been carried out. I found this suggestion very concerning.
Ultimately, I paid £325 — the amount that had been agreed before the work began — as full and final settlement.
Emergency repair services rely heavily on trust and clear communication. In my experience the pricing was not transparent, additional fees appeared after the work had already been completed, and the follow-up communication felt unnecessarily pressuring.
I have kept copies of the correspondence, invoices and messages relating to this interaction.
If you are considering using this service, I would strongly recommend confirming a written price cap and asking for a full breakdown of charges before any work begins.
This review reflects my personal experience with this company.
I needed an emergency plumber urgently as my kitchen sink was blocked and leaking.
I knew there was a risk of being overcharged. On the phone I was informed there was a £60 call out charge (that's reasonable) and then I'd get a quote for the work. I asked what the hourly rate was, and the operator wouldn't say. I continued to push without luck, but then said maybe £160 per hour, and was told more like £180. When the plumber came round, the charge was £250 on top of the £60 call out charge. There was a part too - not sure what. But it all came to £410! My sink was successfully unblocked, but the leak remained as they didn't have the parts.
STAY AWAY FROM THEM !!
We used We Fix 24 Ltd for a simple toilet leak .
Total cost: £909 + VAT
Time spent in site: 2hrs
Replacement part: £40
We are fine paying for professional work, especially in an emergency. But this was daylight robbery. A simple toilet leak ended up costing over £900, and the plumber left midway through the job to get the part , while we were still being charged for that time. £329 for a call out fee, plus a £150 “administration fee” on top for what exactly?
This is not fair, not reasonable, and not acceptable. From a business perspective, this is completely over the top for what was done.
Never again. You can and should do bette
AVOID
Confusing policy and mixed messages used to extract money from customers. We had an emergency call out. The engineer arrived and turned off the water (that’s it). He said he’d return the next day to finish work with parts and try to complete within initial hour paid for during emergency, it transpires that this is not company policy. He was planning to charge us an extra £150 for 30 mins additional work and £140 for a component that I can not find for more than £60 online.
At best this is a very expensive mess and and at worst it’s a rip off office employing cowboys looking to charge as much as they can for labour and parts.
The hourly rate on the website for daytime work is £150 and we were told we would be charged £295 per hour for the work. These are fantastic sums of money and should tell you everything you need to know.
Complete sham of a business, scammers and profiteers for those in need of emergency plumbing services. They take advantage by stating the emergency call out fee is just £70, but their half-hourly rate is £300, i.e. £600 per hour rounded up to the nearest full hour! They then state a 0.2 admin fee of the total bill. 0.2 what?!?! It's actually a whopping 20% fee ontop of everything for "admin" !!!!
They charged £3,000 to fix a water pipe. Then they cause an issue deliberately with something else (in my case, the water valve float, which had no issues previously, so that they are called back the next day to fix that issue and charge another £2,250!!! The extremely high "material costs" they claim, they do not provide any receipts as proof and ignore any emails or correspondence when making a complaint. My tenants are an elderly retired couple, and We Fix 24 Ltd took complete advantage of them. AVOID AT ALL COSTS AND SPREAD THE WORD!!!! They are criminals!!
AVOID AVOID AVOID!!!! This company (if you can call them that) are a bunch of scammers. They charge extortionate fees, the engineers are not trained in their industry and they have a fake registered address on companies house. The engineer I got was here for just over an hour and I was charged £528. The next morning I had the same problem and was left without hot water or heating again. The next engineer (from a different company) was here for about 15 min, fix my problem and I have not had the same problem since. We Fix 24 have refused signed & tracked for letter from me and hung up on me. I have now reported them to Companies House and Trading Standards. DO NOT GET CAUGHT OUT, lets all stop using them and put them out of business!!!!
No prices on line
Not transparent
This heating engineer outfit are complete scammers. Over priced, under qualified, inadequate explanations, slow to communicate, won’t leave until you pay the invoice. Ripped off and hacked off Avoid. Avoid. Avoid.
I have being SCAMMED by this company. They've sent an engineer which was clue less about my issue and when I asked him to leave he said his not leaving until I will pay his call out fee(£60+VAT)
